- Typhochlaena seladonia , sling removal and care of slings
After many requests this is how we remove the slings from mums trap door home and its the first chance to see how many we have, and an opportunity to share how we set the tiny slings up in their new homes and how we care for them.

I like how mom is just sitting there calmly while watching you take her babies. She's probably relieved lol.
I can't even imagine the relief of having all 51 of your children off your back. Mom deserves a well earned rest. 😂
you would be too if you had that many
Must’ve been crammed in that little trapdoor tunnel with all those 51 slings roaming around and getting bigger and bigger by the day lol
Lol she literally is sitting right outside the door like yes! get them the fuck out of there so I can go back in in peace
Good one
You hit the Seladonia jackpot! All I've heard on other videos about them is how $$$ and hard to keep they are. And here you are breeding 'em like a pro! Always so calm and kind, informative and fun! Please never stop doing what you're doing!
Thank you I really appreciate your support ❤️👍
Nobody who knows me would ever believe I just watched 40 minutes of spider capture! Your calm makes the difference, i think.
❤❤❤❤
This is probably my favorite video!!!! Momma was so calm, and the babies were little buggers!!! Dave’s exclamations of “Are there more???” Was quite funny!
I like how mum was just relaxed like ‘take this bloody kids, I’ve had enough - driving me mad they have’ lmaooo
Ive been desperate for another look at these little beauties!
@Josef Rodler you’re probably in the wrong place if you think they’re disgusting
Great video as always!! Thank you so much for sharing it! I really appreciate your video and all the hard work you put into keeping these beautiful spiders!! I would have never guessed she had all those babies in that little area!! Lol. Hope you have a great day , please also thank camera lady for all her great work too!! Take care. Find bless. Mellisa
@Josef Rodler Wrong Channel for you buddy.
@Josef Rodler why u watching then 😂
@Josef Rodler correction… YOU think theyr disgusting. Not everyone thinks like you buddy. Thankfully or the world would be pretty damn boring wouldnt it
I think mum let you have them bc she wanted her home back. What a haul Dave CONGRATS!
Poor mom was ready for some R&R as well as a bit of solitude. Dave gets to hand out the cigars.
I was thinking the same she's way to chill with the whole ordeal 😂
So very beautiful! Mum was very docile and easy going. Thanks, Dave!
This video is super helpful! I followed your care instructions after purchasing a sling. My little beauty is doing wonderfully! The other day, it pushed out its second molt since it's been in my care. It's nearly large enough to be upgraded from its very very tiny Tarantula Cribs sling enclosure to a slightly less tiny Tarantula Cribs sling enclosure 😂
Thanks for the awesome info!!
Glad I could help!❤️👍
One literally can see the love you both have for your spiders in everything you do with them. If just all parents would care 4 their kids like you care for your little buddies, the world would be a much better one.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hated to see this video end. I enjoyed this so much. Couldn't help but laugh at some of those little gems running around. Mama was so patient. She was probably grateful for the extra room. I doubt I'll enjoy the Thanksgiving parade as much as I did this. I used to think how could someone get so excited over a spider, and here I am!
They are 🤩 fun
I know what you mean! Whenever I need to have my mood elevated, I nearly always end up watching this video. Dave and the slings always make me laugh! If there was a way to freeze them at this age, Dave could take the show on the road!✨🕷️✨
How incredible! I did not expect her to her to have that many babies hiding in there with her! Beautiful little things! Well done, Dave!
I was surprised 😂👍
I think it's funny how mum is just sitting there thinking......please take them all! They've been climbing all over me, lol! They are beautiful! I would love to have one of those babies!
Not only are these spiders gorgeous living beings, they are quite rare from what I understand. To anyone making comments about not liking spiders or “vacuuming them up”, etc. - look up the going rate of each of these and multiply by 51. Besides the monetary value, I hope all the spiders go to wonderful appreciative homes and live enjoyable spider lives! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful creature with us! 💗🕷
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing her and her little ones with us. And thank you for being so gentle with them. They're so extremely delicate at that age. Yet spunky all the same. You're a gentleman and a scholar. I appreciate your content!
You are so kind ❤️👍
Maybe a small fan brush would help navigating them into the tubes. They are such gorgeous babies and it’s so fantastic that you have so many!!
I'm glad this is getting attention because it's my FAVOURITE video of Dave's. I can't get over how cute those little rainbow babies are and how gorgeous and healthy the mom is !!!! Truly something special to have on film !!!
Thank you 🙏 ❤️
Single handedly one of the coolest spider videos I've ever seen.
Thank you so much ❤️👍
😂 these slings are total 80's kids, with their fuzzy leg warmers and shiny tights! Thanks to you and Camera Lady for a wonderful channel, Dave 💗
What a calm and nonchalant spider she was.. What a chase you had! I was watching this and my wife came in for me to do something for her and actually watched (and commented on how beautiful the spider was) a bit of the chase.. and she absolutely hates spiders.. baby steps.. She will come around eventually even at 68.. she can do it.. thanks Dave..
I love the way Mom just sat there, as if day care had just arrived, and she could finally sit down and have a cup of coffee!! With any other spider keeper, Mom would be defending the nest. With Dave, it's *what took you so long?*
You might look into picking up a few dental mirrors, and the like. The mirrors would make it easier to check things out, and you could mount the business end of a brush at an angle. Just a thought - 🤔🕷️✨
❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties Aww, you know, ynwa!! ✨🕷️❤️❤️❤️🕷️✨
Thank you Dave for sharing such an awesome video. Congratulations to you and of course to Mum! Anybody else holding your breath and silently cheering him on?
Thanks so much
Mom's the most gorgeous tarantula I've ever seen!😍 Watching this type of videos REALLY improved my arachnophobia.
That's awesome!
I'm amazed at how calm she stayed through the whole ordeal. All of them so pretty. Thank you for not cutting out any of it.
I am late to the party, but I watched the entire video. OUTSTANDING!
1 minute gang!!, cant wait to watch this
They are beautiful little slings, i am not surprised that so many have cured their arachnophobia from watching the way you interact and love your spiders 👍
❤️❤️❤️
I am still afraid of them but love to watch them on you tube
@@ewahodges1137 hi Ewa, I found that the more i got to know about them, the less scary they became, however I still jump at some of the feeding videos haha 😳🕷️
This is amazing ^^ Thank you for all you do on your channel, I just love opening youtube and seeing a new vid from you ^^
Me too
When I was a kid, I'm 67 now, while playing out in the fields, I was lucky enough to come upon a trap door spider. I was so fascinated with it. I tried to explain to my grandsons what I saw, but of course they weren't all that interested. (I wasn't talking video game language..lol) I never in my life thought I would be lucky enough to see one again. Even though, as a grown woman who can't stand the sight of a spider now days, I did watch and very much enjoyed the whole video. I did find myself widening my eyes when the big mama moved, but I really loved it! Thank you for bringing back my childhood memories!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I keep watching this over and over so I can giggle! It's like a little clown car of slings. You opened the hatch and they just never stopped coming out and running loops around your paintbrush. It was so funny!
😂😂😂😂👍
I can't believe how patient mom was. I guess she knew you were using a pediatric brush!! :-) You made the cork bark into a prime piece of Sling real estate! :-) Great video Dave!
Well Dave... those little jewels definitely gave you a run! My goodness I can't believe that little tiny mommy had that many babies! And every one as lovley as she is! Excellent video!! BRAVO!!!!
I enjoy your videos very much. Your calm deliberate demeanor transmits to the beasties, never in a rush, no hint of nerves. I think you show great competency and skill in your husbandry. This female is a stunner. What a gorgeous lot of slings.
Thank you so much 😊 ❤️
This video was a lot of fun. When Dave lifted the trap door, the entire space was filled with blue and black legs.Obviously mom is healthy and very happy. I hope your next clutches are equally as successful.
Wow, that was exciting! A little bit of a nail biter. You look so pleased! They’re pretty cute. I really enjoy what you explain/show and the camera lady does great work.
Thanks my friend ❤️👍
This was an incredible video!! Thank you! Mom was a gem!
The mom is a beauty, a very lovely trapdoor spider indeed. Thank you for sharing, this was absolutely wonderful to watch!
You are so kind
I've never seen a spider like this. Absolutely stunning! Thank you for showing us.
My pleasure 😊
Those are some of the cutest little slings I've ever seen!
I'm surprised the mom didn't put up a fight to defend her babies, even when you were tickling her with the paintbrush, getting them out from under her and putting your hand in the enclosure. You are one brave man and expert spider handler, and those babies sure are pretty!
Thanks hun ❤️❤️❤️
Dave: I’ve got 20 pots, hope that’s not too optimistic
50 slings later: THERES ANOTHER ONE
😂😂😂😂😂
Can't believe how placid the mum was. Beautiful looking spider
Seeing your enthausiasm like a little kid is justheartwarming! and a beautiful spider indeed.
I love this video, watched about 20 times and i'm still smitten with mum and babies !
These are the prettiest babies I have ever seen! 51! What a proud beautiful mama!
Thanks for counting!! I was totally waiting for the counted number 😁
I’m beyond scared of Spiders, but that is the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen! Thanks for sharing this video.
I've never seen this species before. I think she is the most beautiful spider I've ever seen.
🤩 WOW, she is GORGEOUS! I love how she comes out and watches like "Oh, okay. Its about time! I've overheard them plotting my assassination more than once!" 😳
Thank you for sharing that video with us I love it and I love how you explain everything with such passion for the trenchless amazing thank you
The shot of you lifting the trap flap & showing the world all those babies & mamma just chilling with each other......compacted like tuna in a can.......BRILLIANT!!
❤️❤️❤️
Just watched this with my Granddaughter, Miss 3....She says they should be called "Fairy Spiders"
Too cute! ❤
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Somehow this ended up in my feed! Loved it, you are so very gentle; beautiful mama. A lot of babies 👶
I have never seen a trap door spider as beautiful as this one. Thank you for sharing your beasties with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
oh my gosh, you opened the trap door and it was immediate cuteness! Mum's beautiful too!
Another GREAT insight! Could watch this for hours. Thank you for skipping nothing and showing us the process! : )
Smile...
I went to the eye doctor to have eye surgery. They gave me something to "relax" me, and I began telling the nurse about your channel. I told her about these fuzzy little spider babies with blue legs that looked like abominable snow spiders, and the doctor walked in. He said, "You've given her the sedative haven't you?" 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️👍
I've watched this magical video a several times now, to date it's my favourite on your and any other spider channel!
These have to be the most beautiful breed of spider I've ever seen. Everything about them is gorgeous, from their opulent purple, pink and black colouring (the Brazilian Jewel is aptly named), to their tiny size, and even the cloud of beautiful white fur that surrounds each one like a mink stole! The fluffy babies remind me of little talcum powder puffs!
What an unforgettable sight when you carefully lifted and pinned back that tiny trap door, to reveal the exquisite, ivory silk-lined boudoir within, keeping Mum and her huge brood safe and cosy! A real WOW moment - truly miraculous. Thanks for sharing these amazing experiences with us.
LOVE how her tiny back leg kept popping up as a reflex action, looking/hooking to shut her front door, bless her heart! I'm curious - do you see maternal behaviour in the female spiders Dave? I notice they can be protective over the egg sac and you sometimes have a little tug of war to get it off them - do they show signs of upset/depression after you have removed it?
Will this girl miss the 51 beautiful babies she was sharing that luxurious silken nursery with - or am I being sentimental, and she'll have forgotten they ever existed within a nanosecond of the last one's departure?!
I once asked you if you name your arachnids - a question I believe you were quite amused by at the time! Now I've been watching 'DAVE'S LITTLE BEASTIES' for a few months, I get it. These creatures are not pets, but a fascinating hobby which you and you partner give your all to, maintaining admirably high standards.
The success you are achieving with the breeding programme is no doubt due in no small part to the respect you show them. Happy creatures are healthy creatures. Bravo to you both on your exceptional UA-cam channel, and thanks again for the incredible entertainment and education you provide with such glorious frequency!
Your so kind and we really do appreciate your support and im so glad you enjoy the content as much as you do , it makes me feel good when others see what I see in my spiders ❤️❤️❤️
I've also watched this video multiple times, I just love it.
I admire how gentle & calm Dave & Camera Lady are with their loved spiders.
I believe the mothers guard the sac but dont think deeply enough to be sad when its removed, or babies are removed. They react to environment & follow instincts rather than think like us.
I'm just fascinated by Tarantulas & love mine just as much as my dogs & cats. They dont love me but i love them lol xx
These little guys are gorgeous!
That was fascinating. Loved the color of Mum.
So glad to see these beauties responsibly bred in captivity, absolutely gorgeous.
❤️❤️👍
I'm petrified of spiders, but absolutely fascinated by them. These are beautiful (wow, that's something I never thought I'd be saying) knowledge is key
Glad you like them!
I hate seeing spiders in person but love em on youtube. These are just breathtaking!!!
I still had a can of raid on standby
What absolutely beautiful creatures, and the trap door and their behavior are amazing. I’m glad you’re rearing more to spread to keepers who appreciate them without depleting their native range. I don’t keep spiders but have always loved them, though none of them were as exquisite as these. Thanks also to “Camera Lady” for giving us a chance to watch this drama and really see the beauty and the antics of the babies. I’m glad you were able to let Mum stay calm. How you managed to capture those tiny, delicate babies without losing or injuring any is beyond me.
I love how some of the babies were more fiesty or chose different tactics i.e. already displaying different personalities.
You showed a ton of patience with each one giving them way more of a chance than they would have had in nature.
Are you going to name them all, 😉
No these are already in their new homes ❤️👍
That was amazing to watch Dave. Your patience is stellar. Great video! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
not only is mum absolutely gorgeous, but she's acting SO docile!
Even though spiders are really not my cup of tea, this was pretty fascinating! And the mom really is quite the beauty!
Omgoodness these are the absolute most gorgeous trap doors I've yet to see thank you for sharing!!!!!
Thanks so much 😊
@@daveslittlebeasties They are beautiful! It would be very satisfying to have these amazing spiders have babies in your care :D
"Well, that was epic . . ."
Dave's understatement of the month!!
Mum spider is saying "oh thank you Dave...I thought they would never leave!" But aren't they gorgeous!!!
This is truly fascinating! They are so beautiful!
Wow wow incredible so many precious little jewels what treasures. I am in aww of your mind blowing skills, you are truly the master of this trade, without a doubt. Love your clips keep up the hard work.
Thank you so much!
@@daveslittlebeasties He's quite right. I become so angry when I watch other keepers run roughshod through their videos, and *over* their Ts! I've seen people decide to have a party while pairing their tarantulas, knock things around while speaking loudly(I'm understating!), and then wonder why their poor little male got gobbled up before he had a chance to say "how do you do"! I really feel badly for their little beasts. I wouldn't blame them one bit if they had a little nip of the damned fool of a keeper. Serve them right 👍!! Sadly, I don't think that the SPCA covers anything with more than four legs. Perhaps it's something we should work on! ✨🕷️✨
Omg these are absolutely gorgeous 😍 when you lifted that door up and those babies and the mama appeared omg I fell In love they are so beautiful
I appreciate these videos. It helps my fears!
Glad you like them!
The Juxtaposition of me being creeped out, holding the phone sideways, and at the same time feeling bad that you're taking them out of their safe cozy home 🥺😬 update: now I've finished the video and see what a cute new little home you made for them. I'm less creeped out and less sad now 😄🙏💗
That's one of the most gorgeous spiders I've ever seen. What a specimen these are.
I can’t get enough of this video! These babies are absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Mom is beautiful! Im so glad I found your channel!
I got my sling today. First I put it in a kinda moist enclosure with lots of wet moss, but after seeing this i immediately made a new one. I think it likes it better! Thank you and Greets from Germany!
Momma and the babies are gorgeous!
Those are some of the most attractive spiders I've ever seen.
Awesome! Just got though separating about 150 subfusca last week. I love working with slings. Great video.
Awwww, precious tiny babies. Mom is a beauty !! 😍
That is the most beautiful trapdoor spider i have ever seen!
This was like a cross between a never ending pit and Aladdin's cave.
Amazing! 😁
I had no idea... These creatures are absolutely gorgeous.
I use soft tweezers to just pick them all up one by one. It saves do much time and you can pick them up without disturbing all the rest of the babies so they don't start to move around 😄 congratulations on this breeding ! They are gorgeous ♥️
My God, they’re beautiful…. This has to be one of my favourite videos. Absolutely stunning!
Thank you so much 😊
i did not think id be able to watch this, but it was really fascinating! beautiful spiders, they were so wily
Absolutely beautiful spider and slings! I admire your gentle approach with all of your little beasties.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
A bit like herding kittens isn't it! 😆 gorgeous spiders!
I like the SNAP of each lid. It's saying "another one safe!" 😍
WOW that is a lot of babies !!! Great vid ! Thanks for posting it.
I love the colouring of this spider. I am glad though I see it on u tube lol
I like how the mom just slowly watches her children disappear.
"Not my problem, anymore."
😆😆
It just amazes me calm Mom was while you were getting her babies out. she must have sensed that they were going to be taken well care of
Momma was like YES! TAKE THEM DAMN KIDS! 😅
I’m almost ready to purchase my first spider. David, it so educational. You must have a lot of young kids that watch. I’m in my 40’s and I’m so intrigued
I'm 70 and have 3. Not Seladonia.
So nice of you❤️❤️
CUTEST spider. i want one.
Honestly that is the most beautiful spider I've ever seen in my life, I'm barely scared of it at all!
