  • OBT babies and there removal ?
Todays video is a little longer than normal becouse we are collecting the babies from two successful pairings of our OBTs, this will show the different behaviour of two spiders of the same species , but also show how misunderstood these amazing spiders are, plenty of tips and information on how to work with these exciting spiders and breeding info.

Im not even a keeper, i just enjoy watching the fascinating pairing, eggsack removals, rehousing etc of these beautiful animals, ive allways had an fascination for spiders, collecting wolfspiders in jars feeding them small locust and large flies when i was a kid around 10 years old,my father had a large tarantula in a casing on the wall when i grew up,it wasnt a molt it was än actual tarantula mounted with pins in a class casing,at the same time as they fascinate me they make my skin crawl, the thought of them running up my arm - JESUS CHRIST! But having å couple in bioactive enclosures as you have make me kind of reconsider the whole thing,i love the feeding part(ofcourse) and i love the beautiful setups in your enclosures and how calm your spiders are and i absolutely love your blue T's and the tigred T's..i actually Think Most of them are beautiful around 90% of them are just stunning and the Hogna wolfspiders compared to our Swedish ones are just amazing, they are absolutely HUGE! The Swedish variant is probably a 10th of the size of the Hogna..
Anyways i watch on an average 2-3 of your videos a day so now theres pretty much no more videos for me to watch so im desperatly waiting for you to drop new content..
Your knowledge made me after stumbling over your channel considering getting a freaking tarantula,i never thought that day whould come, ive had several snakes so ive brushed shoulders with Tarantula keepers(my friend actually had a mexican red knee i believed the name was?) But i never thought i whould want one for myself!

I had a P. Murinus as my first spider when I was a teenager, sold to me as by an irresponsible pet shop owner. Much lighter in colour than these though I believe different species have been marketed differently over the years. Regardless, I perservered and enjoyed many spiders over my years in the hobby. I nick-named her the 'Alien' as she reminded me of a face hugger. She'd literally throw herself at the glass if she felt vibrations of people walking past. In some ways I'm glad I got dropped in at the deep end as my respect for them was immediately pushed to 200%. She lived a very long and happy life and saw off quite a few girlfriends in her time 🤣

Really good video. I used to breed a lot of Pterinochilus spp., one of my favourites. I used a cut off large (1litre) cola bottle, cap end to move the spiders around, as they naturally run up and funnel into the end, then just unscrew the cap and they can easily move into a new container. When I got the males together with the females, always did that in the bath, gave the male space to scarper from the female tank, I only lost one to a particularly aggressive female. I had loads of different species, then circumstances changed and they all went. Glad to see your partner is a willing participant in your hobby, a gem which is real hard to find.

I've always seen spiders as being 'robotic' in their behavior. It's interesting to see them up close, as their behavior becomes recognizably almost 'mammal'. The territorial posturing, the striking, and the retreat below... There's clearly a mind and a heart to this creature.

You're absolutely right, all spiders aren't the same in temperament even if they are the same kind of Tarantulas. I had 6 Chilean Rose Tarantulas and only 3 of them would allow me to handle them while the last 3 that I purchased showed more aggression in their behavior towards me! 😮 It was strange, but I took care not 🚫 to get bit by them! Tarantulas are so beautiful! I never see any Spider 🕷️ as dull in color. Their just different colors and each are gorgeous! I say that because I have heard many people say that some Tarantulas look so good 👍 while others don't! It's sad when people 🤔 think like that! Great video 📸 once again! I had 1 of those of the 7 Baboon Spiders that I had. The King Baboon Spider 🕷️ was my favorite though! Never picked her up, but she always seemed to "know" me, especially when it was feeding time and to provide fresh 🌊 water. Didn't get much aggression from such a big girl!

Excellent stuff Dave, very informative. Even more than the cricket box, I'd advise one of the smaller (one person) size plastic Coke bottles with bottom chopped off so you're holding the bottle cap end as a better drop over the T to extract here (need a suitable size deli cup to then fit snug in the chopped end once T is inside). I have several size bottles cropped depending on size of the spider. When ready, pop the deli cup and unscrew bottle lid and you put paint brush through bottle lid opening to gently persuade T back out into enclosure.

I stumbled on this video - God knows how 'cos I'm a hysterical arachnophobe. But your enthusiasm and the calm, assured way you handle your spiders totally won me over. I have to say I'm very impressed with you as a UA-cam personality, and amazed that I've had my eyes opened to spiders in a way I didn't think possible.
Spider mums love their babies - they must do, to defend them like that from intruders. That's very touching, and makes them a sophisticated creature, capable of emotions. And I can actually see the beauty in them. The colours, and their furriness is pretty adorable. I can't believe I'm talking about spiders with affection! That is quite an achievement by this channel.
May I ask - will the two mamas look for their missing babies, and miss them? What will you do with those 300-odd spiderlings? And finally - did these girls eat their baby daddy after he'd done the business and impregnated them?!
You deserve every success with a channel as unique, fascinating and well-presented as this one, and I wish you both every success in 2022.

Welcome to our channel Glamdolly30 we really appreciate your support, the females forget about the egg sacks /slings very quickly and feed and drink almost at the first opportunity, as for all the spiderlings they all go back into the hobby , and with the OBT its often 50/50 chance for the males .❤👍

My goodness! LOL!! I really know nothing about spiders. All I know is I don't mess with them! But the webbing shown here, is absolutely amazing because of how strong it looks. And the sound it makes as Dave is trying to pull it back to get to the spider. She's/He's very beautiful to look at though! Thanks Dave for sharing this with us! By the way, I subbed! Stay safe!

Your skills are so impressive Dave! I’ll never forget you saving a male from a female with a brush-in-between-the-fangs trick. Now I see you moving OBTs from their egg sacs with relative ease! You’re the tarantula whisperer. Are there any vids where you get frazzled?!
