Thank you for this I used a ssd external drive and was much faster, went from Ventura to Sonoma 14.5 on a MacBook Pro 2017 29.GHz I7 16gb LPDDR3 and works a treat so far, now got to find out what new features it as, thanks from the uk 🇬🇧

But I have limited internet data transfer - will 20 gb of internet be enough to do whole process ?

I wonder what all this does with the rest of the software already installed (on the previous os)
and software (for example Logic installed on Big Sur).
How to handle the upgrade proces without loosing (older versions of) software.

Not sure, how did you got that message, but if you had followed above it should have worked without any issue
Following the steps in the video correctly, the root patch has also been completed. It can be used normally within the system. But once the screen is locked, the login window will freeze and report an error. Unable to log in again. Mandatory restart is required@@Amitbaruwal

It will not be as new but it can be used for normal browsing and normal basic usage
Hi, l have a MacBook Pro 2010, 7.1. l'm on macOS 10.15.7. Catalina. l tried your upgrade to Sonoma and l nearly managed to complete it. However, on the last step before complete installation a black screen came up with a mouse image and images from the side of my MacBook and underneath is stated apple/Mac support (something like that).
How do l complete the install? Any ideas?

I am running MBP 10.1 (mid 2012) with Big Sur 11.7.10 (OCLP) installed.2.7 quad core i7, 16 gb mem
The machine has 2 video cards: Intel HD graphics 4000 and NVIDEA GeForce GT 65M.
The latter may present an issue. When I tried to upgrade to Ventura, it didn't work well, the text was even too small to read and it was not adjustable. My question is: would it also be an issue when installing Sonoma?
I think Yes, it's because mac computer 2012 or older doesn't have metal GPU like earlier mac, exceptionally for mac pro or all mac computer that can be upgrade with metal GPU
it is metal compatible but both video cards are not compatible with macOS higher then Big Sur. So I will not get a good resolution with readable text
Thanks a lot for video. Just those "realtime" word by word subtitles realy sucks. I dont get it, why they are so popular now. You have to watch them all the time to do not miss something, but then you cant concentrate to other visual content (screens, buttons). If subtitles was as whole sentences, it will be much more reading friendly. Sorry for my english, hope you will understand point of my comment :)

how does it run though?I have a 2010 Mac Mini with a 2TB SSD and 16GB of RAM that I used OCLP to install OSX Ventura on and it works but it's kind of sluggish. I'm curious if Sonoma runs better or worse on older hardware than Ventura.

yes, it does...all you have to do is search on the compatibility and you are good to go

My experience with an iMac 12.1 is that only a clean install (of Big Sur in my case ) works good with Open Core Patcher Post Install Root patches !

It will work and will get automatic updates on same version of mac os but if want to upgrade you will have to do it manually as shown in video.

Hi, Are there any issues to install SONOMA 14.1 on a MacBook Pro 17" early 2011. i.e. Sound , Camera , Wifi and Bluetooth ?
You might get some issues due to hardware and software compatibility with bluetooth but it will work
Hi. Thanks for a great instructional video. I attempted to upgrade my mid-2010 iMac and everything worked fine until I installed the root patching. Now my machine will not boot. Apparently there is a kernel panic that's killing the boot process. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

the question is, how well does the machine run on Sonoma? My 2014 Air runs like poo on Big Sur, I couldn't imagine going even newer and it running well when not coded for it.
It runs bad because you probably have to little ram or your disk I full?

@@97JoMiller There is the problem, to little ram. My iMac 27 2015 runs smooth, SSD and 24GB of ram, AMD R9 M290 2GB.

What is the proper button sequence to boot to efi-boot menu so I can install?
I did successfully do this abt a year ago with Monterey. However, I've tried numerous button sequences and nothing seems to work. I even held down the alt key for several minutes. I have a USB 3 hub w/wireless keyboard & a regular wired USB keyboard. Do I wait for the Mac boot-sound & then press Alt or what?

macbook pro 2015 sonoma is running great not slow or anything. also have a 2012 macmini on sonoma is kinda slow but that might be the cheap SSD drive thinking of changing it.
Has your 2015 MacBook Pro warming up issues? Or it runs good without high temperatures?
