Interesting phenomenon. I have a 2014 W212 E-class, and have not experienced any problems with interference from outside sources. The only time this and other aiding systems turns off is if the sensors are covered with snow

Never had this problem in my 2011 s550
I have 2x W221.
1 is an 08 (Pre-facelift)
1 is an 11 (facelift)
I never have this issue on my 2011 but it’s driving me insane on my 2008.
I also noticed that for my 2011 (facelift), the ultrasonic park sensors are now installed on the bumper and can be seen externally.
My 2008 (pre-facelift), the parktronic sensors are hidden behind the bumper.
I wonder if the previous design of it being behind the bumper causing this issue
I really like this generation of CL.
How do you find it, do you think is a reliable car? I know the gearbox you have has a good reputation and the engine as well.
But how about all the electronics and features inside the car, because it such a complex car, for it’s age do you think could be a pain to live with all those systems? Like night vision, massage seats and so on?
So far it has been great, but I know something expensive could break at any minute!
It’s really not bad at all in the electronics department as I also own an 09 CL550, the things to look out for on this one in particular are the engine mounts, transmission mount, lower control arms and the coils for the spark plugs can have issues with age.. And the last thing to be weary of is the hydraulic “active body control” suspension.. it can leak with age but most times just needs a few new hoses., if you work on it yourself it’s not that bad to own and maintain money wise., had to jump on this one Lol
@@undertakerfire7810 thank you for your reply. I actually own a BMW e63 650i from 2010 but I would like to try a CL or a SL 500. I owned a CLK 320 from 2005 and felt in love with mercedes. To be honest my biggest concern would be the active body control as well but I was wondering how is to live with all that electronics in a 10 years old car.
Mihai Constantin Alexandru Do it, nothing besides the Bentley conti GT can compare with the CL!:).. and if you don’t want to deal with the ABC just get the 550 with the air ride “airmatic”, it gives a very lovely cloud like ride and is very simple to work on and you’ll only lose a bit of handling in the corners that the ABC provides.. And the m273 has more than enough power for a luxury grand tourer and won’t be as hard on the mounts with having less torque.,.
Night Vision and Distronic is super reliable. Massage on the other hand, haven’t seen one of this generation that didn’t have at least 1 fault or issue with the massage seats (bladder failure)
Buy the way your brave with a cl65. I sold my s65 as the coil packs were £1500 each! And mercades never had pays! Loving the 63

I have the same issue with my 2020 GLB. When it’s sunny and I’m driving under 15mph, the sensors go off repeatedly…
A lot of newer cars parking sensors operate at 400mhz. Solution: Don’t get too close to Mazda’s, Toyota’s, newest Fords. Also emergency traffic lights.
My 2007 CL550 does the same thing in traffic with other modern cars around. My 2012 CL63 didn’t give any such warnings though. I wonder if there’s a hardware difference between the sensors on the pre and post facelift C216 models, or it it’s just new firmware on the later models that better handles interference. If it’s firmware, I also wonder if a firmware update could fix this.
Your 07 CL does not have Parktronic sensors mounted on the bumper but behind it.
Your 12 CL has the Parktronic sensors mounted on the bumper.
This is the reason why your 12 CL doesn’t have the issue but your 07 CL does.
@@Novavon7Correct, the 07 has radar for parking instead, but its parking radar is subject to interference from modern Toyotas and some other cars.
I have a 2008 cl 65 it does the same thing it really comes from shopping centers and other cars it’s the radar on stores front doors that automatically opens when you come in or out off stores rader from cops it’s well effect it but it’s usually in city’s where it goes off all the time but high way and in a raurel area it’s fine

I got that and blindspot inoperative on and off all the time in my w221 is a pain in the ass..
maybe a software update will help
I doubt they are updating those older systems now...
@@mguytv you can try SCN coding online with your Diagnostic computer and it will tell you if there is new software available for your modules.
I’m on the latest version for Distronic Plus and Parktronic on my 2008 and still have this issue.
The software update did improve how Distronic Plus works (more sensitive and less lazy vs before) but that’s about it
I had a 2008/09 CL65 here in Scotland for 2 years from 2016. Normal behaviour caused by similar radar sensors you can get on traffic lights, speed radar blockers on other cars and certain other technologies. Have all this and more now on my E63 and I've never had a similar issue. Wish that what the only thing that went wrong with it!

I’ve been quoted $2400 to replace a diagnosis of faulty radar sensor causing the same issue on my CL500….
If it only happens occasionally I would live with it!
Mine does it every time I drive it, after the first few times the sensors activate. It will then remain inoperative until you turn the car off and on again.
👏 awesome. I just gotta wear it. I agree with you. Add 5g and no wonder; the sensors aren't shielded. I just got the cl500 standard 💅 2008. In 12 months 🤔 battery, auxiliary battery, starter motor and front wheel bearings, and plugs needed replacing. Her name is Vroomhilda, mein leibschen 😘 worth every penny. 🎉❤
