I am growing upland cress on paper towel now. I have it inside a reptile incubator with a black cloth over the plastic container. It's slow growing but getting there. I see a few stalks that are taller than the rest ; maybe about half an inch tall. Originally I just had it on my countertop but I think maybe the ambient temperature wasn't quite warm enough. Putting it inside the incubator definitely helped speed up the growth.
Yes, adding warmth will helping speeding up the growth. The room where we are growing our microgreens is not that hot actually, around 18 degrees C. With warmer temperatures, make sure you keep an eye on the growing speed. When the plants grow too fast, they will not get that strong and therefore tend to fall over more quickly. Anyhow, happy growing!
