    Just planed this crop today, got the seeds yesterday. I really have to thank you guys! I have a pretty bad anxiety disorder and since I first began watching you guys and growing in July, this has really helped relax me and I've noticed my reliance on Valium has decreased. Can't thank you enough for that!

    Cress has been the No.1 microgreen in the UK for decades, with mustard also being popular, never really called microgreens ......the main dish for cress has always been boiled eggs chopped,mayo and cress mixed together, mostly on sandwiches

    I am about 2 days away from my first harvest of Cress. It looks really good, and healthy, my only problem so far - and nobody has mentioned it yet - is that I don't like the smell of the seeds. I am growing in my kitchen and the smell every time I come into my kitchen is not very pleasant. If I like Cress I will have to grow outside I think! Thanks for all your great videos!!

    Thanks so much for the video! I have a question on the black out period. Why do you need to flip the TOP tray after the seeds have germinated and continue to keep them out of light? Also, I noticed you didn’t add any weight for cress. Why is that so?

    Hi Mandy - how do you stop the cress seeds sticking to underneath of the top tray? Mine keep sticking to the top tray and coming away from the coir, when I go to mist on days 1 & 2, makes a right mess!

  • @user-ug8yr1dy3c

    After the harvest, will the cress grow back in that tray by just adding water? Nutrients also include more calcium than found in milk.

  • @RovingPunster
    @RovingPunster Рік тому

    N00b question - you used cococoir with a slotted tray, but then bottom watered for 6 days. I thought that because roots cant consistently get down to water thru a slotted tray that theyd need to be top watered, or better yet that a mesh tray would be used instead of slotted. Can you (or someone) help clarify whether slotted or mesh is optimal for use with cococoir for microgreens ? What determines the use of one vs the other ? Thanks !
    The parts for my 1st rack have begun arriving ... yay.

  • @petercorrigan1518
    @petercorrigan1518 4 роки тому +8

    These are really annoying to grow commercially.
    I noticed you are having the same issue as us. The seed sticks to the coco coir and it lifts pieces of the medium up into the canvas.
    When I grow crops like cress and Basil now, we are using a nice coco coir mat to prevent this from happening.

      🙂Cress seeds have two factors that alter our technique...they are delicate small seeds and they have that tacky like feeling...so we don't push down during germination and we mist the canopy to help soften and release the hulls.

  • @MarkMark-bl5qc

    this is the wrong way of growing cress u should use less seeds. cress is a plant still growning along winter and in harvest u killed all the plants u must let the leaf in the center of plant to grow and u can harvest the same plants along the season and the leaves will become in different shape big and strong u can not imagine its shape u can eat cress with fish and bread
    by the way when u grow cress in warm or hot wheather it goes directly to flowering so the people grow it in Winter for its leaves
