Just take your time.. our ancestors suffered for us in America, but we have never been so poor as our people here.. we have never been colonized into forced obedience. They had to learn deceit to survive...to feed their families...Continue to be kind...& lead by example... but feed with a long handled spoon...🙏🏿♥️

Thank you for advice. What you said is so true. I have been in Kenya for almost two months now and yes, we have to be careful don't be too trusting or naive and don't be too quick to jump at anything that sounds too good to be true or every sad stories you hear. However, the people I have come across so far in Kenya is not so bad as some in other African countries i have visited. But people are going to be people just be careful.

Africa is for the tough hearted. ,some countries are slightly better than others
I think as African Americans we are too emotional when it comes to going/moving to Africa. We tend to fantasize and romantisize the idea and lose sight of the realities.
I say " too emotional" beacuse many times common sense goes out the window. Many tend to take the position that WOW "we are home" the land of our ancestors and get caught up in that, which really is a beautiful thing.
However, this is 2024 and the real world and not a fantasy. What happens in LA happens North Carolina, Alabama or Texas. What happens in Kenya happens in Tanzania Ghana or The Gambia to a greater or lesser degree. People are the same everywhere.
We have this saying in America about our people that "all skin folk ain't kin folk" and thats real talk.
ALL Africans are not created equal.
I live in Atlanta but there are certain places I just don't go to. If I going to Chicago. Louisiana or Detroit there are certain places I will not frequent, period...Even people living in Chicago Louisiana or Detroit wont go to certain places.
No matter where you travel excercise caution...
We treat each other the same in America. The only difference is, our family (Africans) have expanded. So more family members, more issues...with love.

I think one thing that may throw some people off is that the scammers will be just as polite as everyone else do expect politeness but it is not always a reason to let your guard down. Doesn't also mean that all polite people are scammers.
I would also mention don't move based on your emotions. Especially from America or Europe.
Greetings Residential Tourists, I agree with you in that we are very vulnerable when it comes to relocating to so called Africa. Yes, there is the hustle, male dominated societies, feminist mindset, the chicken neck 😂, xenophobia, sexuality issues, mental confusion, psychosis, and much more that stand in the way of being truly so called African as well as how we have are received or perceived.
