- Short video on how to adjust head bearings on KTM Super Duke. Very simple job anyone could do and also how to check for any play.
I promise to start posting 2 stroke rebuilds next week.
I think you were right about the wheelies
Nicely done.
Incidentally, with the orange powerparts triple clamps there isn’t an adjuster ring and top cap nut to pull the top clamp down; the top cap nut is the adjuster as well.
Not tempted to pull the forks out and check/clean/lube the head races, Pete? 50,000km is a good mileage to do that sort of thing!
I did pull out the forks and changed the oil about 10k prior. Maybe will check the races next service but needed to fix this knocking before the snowie ride.
I don’t think you torque it to 50 there’s a two step process
At 6:30 shows the two step process for the nut then at 6:51 is a screen shot from the book showing 50Nm for steering Stem top bolt. The two step is the nut underneath to adjust play. Tighten to 10 then loosen by 60 degrees. Then top nut 50. But I think there is a problem with the video its blacked out for some sections. I might have to re upload it, maybe to make it clearer?
@@powervalvepetesgarage ya I’m confused I’m looking at the book it says the top screw 50nm and that’s a m22 and then the m28 bolt 10nm with a 60 back out
