Sonny does tend to make dramatic statements for the entertainment factor... I respect him for his honesty about his insecurities and what he has done to cope, such as his weight loss journey and his hair implants. Good on you for being human in front of the camera.❤️
Sonny is the man and I had to stop by to make sure that you were doing him right. I have been watching him for years and have similar hair, so I was shocked to learn he had that done, but it has worked out great for him.....for a guy who wears a bandana all the time lol.

Anyone notice Dr. Linkov’s facial hair growth specifically the eyebrows, upper lip, and even some eyelashes. I wonder what you’re doing differently, definitely a lot of growth compared to a year ago or perhaps even the last 6months. Pretty cool to see. 👏😄

well, it is not really much about looking young forever....being bold doesnt make anyone ultimately old. The issue is that some heads look great bald, even better than with hair....and some heads looks just bad.
@Jonathan Birch You going with too much science and emotions in it. Some man are lucky, some not, some man look great bald, some dont. Some can “not care” no matter what, some have a job where good looks help etc etc
I had a DHI hair transplant in Thailand for around that price and it was a really good experience. The only painful moment was the PFP when they take your blood plasma and then insert it into your scalp. 6 months of oral minoxidil, finasteride and hair vitamins was around $100. I also had lots of strict post-procedures like limiting exercise, alcohol, any sort of weight loss etc, but I didn’t stick to those after 2 weeks.

It has been over a year since I had seen my grandson who is 18 years old. I visited him because I wanted to see him off before he joined the army. To my surprise he had already buzz cut his hair, but what was shocking was that he is already severely balding! It is the type that the temples have balded almost halfway to the center of his scalp. If he is like this now what will it be like in 10 years? I am broken hearted for him since he had such beautiful thick blonde curly hair. Doctor, could you please do a video about what can be done for patients who are experiencing large hair loss while in their teens?
@Mamon saleh I am so sorry to hear that. Normally teens don't have to concern themselves with this problem. Have you tried topical Minoxodil? I have been using it for several years because as we women age most of us can have some significant hair thinning and loss. For me I can still have shedding but it always grows back at least. I seriously think it has kept me from having bald spots. I wish you the best. There are things that can be done.
@@Mamon_Saleh No, I don't think that would make it worse. The only problem is if you stopped before you gave it enough time to work for you. It is not fast. I would say you need to use it religiously for 3-6 months to see if it is helping. You might go even longer, we all are different in how we respond to medicines.
I had major shock loss (entire top of head bald) my first year after my hair transplant. I was probably a Norwood 2…Went to a very well regarded, internationally known surgeon…Good, fairly undetectable, long lasting result (still looks good ten years later) ultimately, in reality though, it was a lot to roll with.
Your own hair regrowth is amazing!! I lost most of my eyebrows and eyelashes for some reason. I have been using Latisse on my eyelashes and off-label on my brows. I am mostly happy with the results. I wish you continued success with regaining your hair, Dr. Gary.
Always remember, the likelyhood that people will post the video of a failed hair transplant is lower than that of a sucessful one. This may lead to a skewed picture in favor of the hair transplant industry. This does not mean that getting a hairtransplant is a bad idea, just that there may be a lot of dirt under the rug, so be vary of bad clinics.
I'm assuming he got it over there is because he also lives over seas. He's married and lives over there with his wife. He has a house where his channel team works there too
Im at a norwood 2 or 3 and I've been in this range for quite a few years now. When my hairline recedes too far, I will just shave my head and get it over. No expensive hair surgery or medicines to keep what hair I have.

Lol, maybe. He's basically been around the world at this point, based in Vietnam. At least whatever effort he's not been putting into his skin has gone into his body! He's made quite the transformation
As a guy who started thinning in my early twenties and by my thirties said "fuckit" and started shaving my head, I enjoy watching these types of videos now and then. It all comes down to VANITY...how comfortable are YOU with how you look as opposed to how you think others look at you. I thought about 'hair treatments' for years and in the meantime wore a baseball cap. Maybe just shave that sh*t, get some sun your melon (a bald head with a tan goes a long way), save money on barber trips and shampoo/conditioner, maybe grow a goatee? Worked for me.
Some people head/jaw shape don’t suit the bald look, or their build, skinny guys with gaunt faces don’t tend to suit it. Which is me screwed if my mpb moves beyond mild temple area before I manage to bulk up more.
Mine is a funnier story. When I was 15, a buddy told me he could cut my hair. I was skeptical but said ok. He screwed up and shaved a path through my hair, so I had to shave my head completely. I noticed how much better it was after that(free haircuts, wake up ready to go, more aerodynamic lol)… anyways, years later it starts thinning out and people think I shaved my head because of that instead of a screwed up haircut 25 years ago lol
@@ptracey5998 That's your personal opinion, not a factual statement. ALSO...if you read my comment, I said it's about being comfortable with yourself...NOT what other people think. 'Vanity' is exactly that, worrying about how others see you. "12 or so years ago"...yeah and prior to that, guys did what (in MY opinion) looks even worse...perpetually wear a baseball cap OR did the 'horseshoe' mullet. Just shave it. To even make the comment you did I can safely assume that you are either female or are not experiencing hair loss and therefore aren't even qualified to weigh in an opinion.
Most women prefer bald to hair plugs and all that jazz. I don't know one single woman who wouldn't run when they see the fake hair. And yes, we spot it from miles, doesn't look natural at all.
I have to ask Dr. L. Have you personally had any plastic surgery? Because you are perfectly beautiful, and not many people are perfect like this? I hope I'm not offending you by asking this? 😊

Please talk about the giant zits that occur as a result of having a transpant. Had I known about this prior, I would've avoided having it done really. Also, please talk about the different sizes of needles they use, because the one they used on me, left noticable large pore holes where each hair was placed. I've been wearing a baseball hat for the past 20 years ever since. And they used too much numbing agent, I have about 50-70% feeling. And they placed my hairline much lower than my original normal hairline was, even though they had a photo of it. I got stomach flu from bad orange juice that tasted off, they provided at lunch break. I bet people want to know all about these types of humbling concerns within this democracy.
@@anonymousanonymous4690 are you suggesting that zits dont appear that take chunks of noticable meat away? Or the size of the needles would somehow be smaller so they wont leave a stab wound that remains visible? Or the purple tint your scalp has for years after?
@@mararoxa2275 Why would i know it was off prior to drinking it if i was expecting it to be ok in the first place? I took a drink, and then noticed it was off, rather than to do the smell test. The food they offered for the lunch turned out to be some type of gamey meat flavored stew type of substance. Had I been aware of that prior to arrival, would've made sure to bring something that didn't seem like soylent green past the best before date.
He said he wears it because it's cool but as an avid viewer of his channel I believe the true reason for the bandana is to prevent sweat while traveling and filming in all sorts of climates.
a few years ago the grafts were harvested by making a fairly substantial incision in the back of the scalp, extracting that skin strip, and sewing it up…is there a better non invasive way of harvesting the grafts, or is it pretty much the same. I have had a couple of transplants, and the graft placement were tedious and time consuming but never a problem, however the incision, sutures, drainage and recovery. from sourcing the. grafts was invasive, painful later on, and leaves scars on the back of the scalp
He mentioned this in the video. It sounds like you had the FUT method. Where a strip of scalp is taken from the donor area, and the follicles are extracted, then implanted into the recipient area. With the FUE method, the follicles are extracted from the donor area, then implanted into the recipient area. There is no cutting or suturing involved. Just taking the follicles from one area, and putting them somewhere else. I'm sure, with that, the recovery time is less painful (if any) and shorter.
I was watching the video and I suddenly realised: "I've never googled hair transplant... why I am suddenly binging and being presented Dr Gary Linkov videos? Is Google trying to say something? 😅" Great video though! First time watching your content and I'm on my 3rd consecutive video!
What many people don't realize about hair transplants is that it's not a "one and done" procedure; hair behind the transplanted ones will continue to thin and recede thereby necessitating subsequent transplants.
I always say embrace your baldness. We also have a guy in our town that had a hair transplant. He is basically the joke of the town. Everyone just sees him as a very insecure guy that can't accept who he is. People will notice if you try to hide your baldness.
Thanks for this video! I had 2,276 grafts for frontotemporal recession done at the same clinic a few days ago for just over 2000 USD. Heard about your channel from another patient in the lobby who mentioned this video, definitely subscribing. Dr. Patty and her assistants took great care of me, and fed me some really delicious chicken fried rice after the procedure (which I ate while they rubbed antibiotics on my head). I'm non-binary and they were super welcoming and understanding of my hair goals. They even had a third gender option on the intake form which is pretty rare in Thailand. I went with Hairtran after talking to a trans woman who had great results from the same clinic. Really happy with the hairline they designed for me, nice round shape and natural-looking irregularities. Now the long recovery and growing out process begins. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone, happy to answer any questions folks have.
so, you talking about being non binary, and friends who is trans woman....that basically means that you both went there to treat male pattern baldness. I love how nature doesnt care about made up genders :D
Hi, thanks for your input. I live in Phuket and I'm interested in this clinic for my Hair Transplant. Can you please tell me what was done by the doctor and what was done by the assistant during the entire procedure (hairline design, extraction from the donor area, implants in the receiving area, etc ...) ? Is there a formula where everything is done by the doctor herself ? How many consultations have you had before the procedure ? Thanks in advance for your help. How long did you book the surgery in advance (how long did you wait between the consultation and the surgery ?) ?
@@eicisback I have finished surgery at that clinic just recently. First of all, the never ending question “ surgeon or technicians”, doesn’t matter. They are very well trained, many times better than the doctor. So do not focus on who is doing what. If you choose good clinic, they do things good. Period. It is irrelevant who does what. When you go for a blood tests, nurse will take your blood probably less painfully than a doctor if u know what I mean. What is important tho is, that the planning and consultation is done with the doctor and that the doctor is still around during the procedure. Here, both my first visits were about talking what to expect what can go wrong etc… drawing the hairline, all done by the doctor here. When u come for the surgery day, the doctor draws everything on your head again, but already like precisely, not just a line where the hair will be, but that pre-op line. Having two meetings in person instead of coming just for the day of surgery probably doesnt make a difference, saves some time I guess, maybe a bit more comfortable for everyone. This clinic is informing you about everything perfectly, they dont leave any topic untouched…the surgery, no pain at all , at least for me, and overall super satisfied with them. Very professional. Time from the consultation to the surgery, depends only on free slots. U can decide on Monday and have surgery on Tuesday if they have time. Unless you are taking some medication that would need to be first worn off. As Sonny made a quite some marketing for them, and then this account did similar, when they reviewed it, you can probably expect them to be super busy with much longer waiting times. I was waiting like 3 weeks or so, but I talked to them right after I saw the Sonny’s video, so I was still early. Now there would be probably much longer waiting time. I have asked and they said they have huge influx currently. Maybe the price will increase with time too, if the influx will keep coming?

I mostly agree. She has lost a LOT of weight since Queen’s Gambit. Somewhere in between, when she had lost just some weight, her facial structure became a lot more visible and you could tell she has naturally defined cheek bones. So I’m not sold on the bucal fat removal. However, the brow lift is pretty apparent. It’s most noticeable if you look at the shape of her bottom eyelid. It went from very rounded down toward the outside of the lid to a lot more straight and angled up. Her nose, she tweaked very little. It used to have a rounder tip. Personally, I liked her rounded eyes better. It made them look huge and exotic, very unique. And her original nose softened her face. Everything is so angular now.
I just accepted that I am going bald and just shaved early on. No one noticed that I lost even more hair and I am usually known as the "bald guy over there". I am fine with that. I dont need to spend hours trying to fix my remaining hair to make it look full, I dont need to pay the barber one more cent. I dont need to take hormones that have all sorts of negative effects, dont need special shampoos or whatever. I just use the same stuff I clean my hands with when I want to clean my shiny bald head and I have no problems with flakey skin ever since I shaved my head. And if some girl doesnt want to date me because I am bald then I probably dodged a bullet anyways (hint, most guys go bald eventually). So, I think that hair or a lack thereof, never was the problem. If you get a transplant you just hide the symptoms but you will never be able to accept who you actually are.
Same I'm super poor, so i just shave my head but I also don't worship ran through women so if you want women then waste money on looks, if you don't care about ran through come dumpsters then it's not necessary

I always knew he wasn't comfortable with his hairline that's why he wears a bandana but he still denies it and Norwood 2 isn't even bad a lot of guys getting hair transplants at this stage why do we men lose hair in the first place? and now men are losing their hair in their late teens and early 20s from some research, I found out it getting common in new generations it wasn't this common before so what is the reason is it technology? because that's the only thing that evolved the fastest. I also noticed I'm losing my hair when I was 16 and now I'm in my 20s still losing hair tried a lot of things some worked but only temporarily I noticed one more thing when I je*k off a lot like multiple times a day I lose more hair than normal and when I stop doing that for some days my hair doesn't fall that much is there any connection between hair and je*king off? I know this much semen is made of protein, nutrients, Calcium, and other things so it must take that from the male's body that is why we feel dizzy or sleepy when done too much does it take anything which our hair needs? Please Dr. Gary answer I really wanted to ask this question to the doctor in person but couldn't because this question looks stupid and weird
Thanks for this comment. I didn't know that men are now losing hair in their late teens to early 20s. My contemporaries began losing theirs at late 20s to early 30s (I'm in my 40s now). Yeah, I don't know if the use of technology (cellphones, computers, PlayStation, etc) & the radiation from those could be a factor. That would be an interesting study.
Never be afraid to ask your doctor embarrassing or personal questions. They've probably heard it all a hundred times already and if they're a good doctor, they won't make you feel stupid for asking I know high testosterone levels are correlated with male pattern baldness, which makes sense since not many women have it. I couldn't find anything beyond anecdotal evidence about men going bald younger from a google search, where did you read about that? People in the past wore hats, wigs, etc that would hide or draw attention away from balding way more than we do today, and we have our pictures taken way more frequently so more of us are far more self conscious of our image, so it may just be that far more of us are paying far more attention to that than we used to The amount of nutrients in semen is miniscule so unless you already have a deficiency in something, it shouldn't do anything to your hair or nails. You could always eat a nutritious snack before/after a JO session if you're really worried about that, though
I had an FUT Hair Transplant back in 2012 in Tijuana for $2,500. The Lady Doctor said she’s done trainings in the U.S. and other countries around the world. She said that I’d see the best results after about a year. Very true. I was very happy with the results! Now, 11 years later, my hair has thinned quite a lot. Probably due to DHT sensitive hairs continuing to fall out. I’m wondering if it’s worth giving Topical Finasteride a try? Or would I be wasting my time? Would be very grateful for a reply. Thanks.
Why do People only talk about Thai Turkey Mexico hair transplant ? In India where I'm going to get it done its only india 10 a hair means 12 cents per hair as lowest which means only $250 to $350 which is way less then what I was quoted here in US $20,000

well, it is not really much about looking young forever....being bold doesnt make anyone ultimately old. The issue is that some heads look great bald, even better than with hair....and some heads looks just bad.

I'm the same. I'm having a heart attack when i look in the mirror
@@cellgrrl i tried monoxidel then stopped. Did that make it even worse?
@@Mamon_Saleh No, I don't think that would make it worse. The only problem is if you stopped before you gave it enough time to work for you. It is not fast.
A bald head doesnt look that good. It wasn't that common to shave it either until around 12 or so years ago.

How much of a difference would it cost in the United States to get a hair transplant versus a $3000 job in Thailand?
I had 3000 grafts done in the US back in 2015 and it was $8000.00.
I had 3500 grafts done in Mexico and it was $3700.00 and they did a MUCH better job in Mexico.

@@mararoxa2275 Why would i know it was off prior to drinking it if i was expecting it to be ok in the first place?
I took a drink, and then noticed it was off, rather than to do the smell test.
It complicated things, as i was on a empty stomach and seemed to have a stomach flu side effect. The food they offered for the lunch turned out to be some type of gamey meat flavored stew type of substance.

a few years ago the grafts were harvested by making a fairly substantial incision in the back of the scalp, extracting that skin strip, and sewing it up…is there a better non invasive way of harvesting the grafts, or is it pretty much the same.
I don't even know I got enough hair for donor hair. It's so fine and thin.
I was watching the video and I suddenly realised:

What's his rates?
What many people don't realize about hair transplants is that it's not a "one and done" procedure; hair behind the transplanted ones will continue to thin and recede thereby necessitating subsequent transplants.
I always say embrace your baldness. We also have a guy in our town that had a hair transplant. He is basically the joke of the town. Everyone just sees him as a very insecure guy that can't accept who he is. People will notice if you try to hide your baldness.
Thanks for this video! I had 2,276 grafts for frontotemporal recession done at the same clinic a few days ago for just over 2000 USD.

Can you do a video on Anya Taylor joy. I think she’s had a brow lift, nose job, and buccal fat removal
Is nobody going to tell him that the bandanna is ridiculous
1. it is his brand, like MJ touching his dick every 5 seconds lol

Whoa! Gary, your eyebrows! They look great
I just accepted that I am going bald and just shaved early on.
If you get a transplant you just hide the symptoms but you will never be able to accept who you actually are.

why do we men lose hair in the first place? and now men are losing their hair in their late teens and early 20s from some research, I found out it getting common in new generations it wasn't this common before so what is the reason is it technology? because that's the only thing that evolved the fastest. I also noticed I'm losing my hair when I was 16 and now I'm in my 20s still losing hair tried a lot of things some worked but only temporarily
I noticed one more thing when I je*k off a lot like multiple times a day I lose more hair than normal and when I stop doing that for some days my hair doesn't fall that much is there any connection between hair and je*king off?
They've probably heard it all a hundred times already and if they're a good doctor, they won't make you feel stupid for asking
I know high testosterone levels are correlated with male pattern baldness, which makes sense since not many women have it. I couldn't find anything beyond anecdotal evidence about men going bald younger from a google search, where did you read about that? People in the past wore hats, wigs, etc that would hide or draw attention away from balding way more than we do today, and we have our pictures taken way more frequently so more of us are far more self conscious of our image, so it may just be that far more of us are paying far more attention to that than we used to
The amount of nutrients in semen is miniscule so unless you already have a deficiency in something, it shouldn't do anything to your hair or nails.
Thanks.
Why not just get the pill. Its cheap as hell if you let Cosco fill the prescription.
Why isn't general anesthesia used for this?
The bandana is awesome. Bring back that look please.
If you get a hair transplant and not happy with result. How long should you wait for a second transplant?
>18 months, as that's when you see the "final results" of the transplant. The way the surgeon knows what they're working with
He showed off his hairline on joe Rohan podcast and said he only wore the headband for sweat a couple years ago lol 😂
Yay!! Thanks Dr. G!
Why do People only talk about Thai Turkey Mexico hair transplant ? In India where I'm going to get it done its only india 10 a hair means 12 cents per hair as lowest which means only $250 to $350 which is way less then what I was quoted here in US $20,000
Looking for a hair transplant in Thailand, but not sure where to go, badly need advice from experienced people!!
What can be some of the side effects of the medical therapy or whatever medication you have to take after the procedure? And usually how long do you have to take it for?
