Digging Deep is my selfie movie about my two finishes in the worlds toughest unsupported bike packing and hike a bike race, Arizona Trail Race. 1250 kilometres on a hiking trail from the Mexican border to Utah, with the crossing of Grand Canyon, carrying the bike and luggage on my back, as the ultimate challenge. This film is the essence of my journey into ultra racing. An exploration into the training involved, the physical and mental strength that is required, the mental battle and the necessity to stay focused even when exhausted. Following the strenuous journey it shows the pieces of the puzzle that help me reach my goal, to endure, how not to quit, to go all the way to the finish line no matter what it takes.

Thanks for the video! A great accomplishment. Some of those trails looked sketchy even from a hiker’s point of view and you did them with a bike! That Grand Canyon stretch would’ve killed me ! 😁 although I like to push myself furher also. You’re hardcore! 👏

Great film, I thru hiked it this spring and couldn't imagine biking a lot of those sections. I'm just starting to get into bikepacking now, nothing technical like this but it was an inspiration to watch and reminded me of some great memories along the way.

Saved this in my 'watch later' list for a good moment. And I'm glad I did. Great achievement and honest video. It is not always good times on the bike and most of that shitty time is mental stuff. Btw woul you like to share what kind of camera gear you had with you during the ride? The ride itself must have been an ernormous effort, and filming it cant be an easy job either. Especially when you do everything by yourself!

I've had the same thought, but I think the frame has to be build for it. You cannot just pour water into it. But some sort of container that can be unmounted for cleaning, like the systems for batteries in eMTB's. Thank you for your nice comments, it definitely take some time to get the shots 😃

That coloring is their stylistic choice. You are entitled to your opinion since art definitely is subjective, but you don't have to be such a harsh critic in the comment section. Be grateful that this stunning art is presented to you for free on UA-cam.
@@tacconelli Im sorry if i insulted you in any way, but for me, the enjoyment got lost in a mist of brown and yellow.. a truly bad sepia filter..
Color grading is used as a cinematic tool to substatiate a certain atmosphere and mood. If you take a look at some of the greatest fiction movies you will notice how strong a tool this is. Take a look at the trailer for The ballad of Buster Scriggs as an example, none of the scenes are realistic color vise. But it makes the story so much stronger.

Most of the trail is rideable. Only the steepest sections are hike a bike, and the entire Grand Canyon trail is no tires on the ground.
@@JakobCarlsen Oh yea I understood it was against the rules. I could just imagine some people disobeying those rules. Great video and race sir.
@@Red-ju4mi disobeying this rule would be a big mistake, both towards the race and the national park. It would most definitely put the race in bad standing and maybe cause it to be banned from crossing GC.

Jakob I'm glad I saw your Video as an ad a few months ago it's very inspiring i just finished my first bike race yesterday and i suddenly thought of your video And It's tempting me again to get into more of this adventure racing
