Anyone who says that film crews should be banned for the FKT stuff need to shush because I want to see these things go down! I'll likely never be good enough to take a KOM or FKT but I'll keep watching them
Great video. This is definitely going to get people out on their bikes pushing the limits. Its a great time to be a mountain biker. Can't wait for the next one.
Pete has a great combination of natural ability, hard work and determination. He's great for the sport of cycling- cycling without borders. the Dirt segment is where the energy is now. Thanks for the inspiration Pete !
Hell yeah! BTW! I’m actually kinda surprised it was only 8 bottles for a 10.5 hour effort. This summer I did the Koko north from Cowskin Campgrounds (5 miles north of Dewey) on a gravel bike. Was having a blast all day wondering why people use a MTB-and then I got outside of Fruita. Got dangerous real quick. Where Pete was lifting over the boulder I started wondering if I was off trail because it was such a technical, big travel piece of trail. Excellent production! Nice job, Pete!
Wow, you da man Pete, extremely tuff ride and accomplished by an extremely tuff man!! Great vid Pete, very inspiring even fir us older guys that keep trying to ride hard
The Stetina's are American royalty in cycling. I love that, Peter found his way out of the pro tour and created a new path for himself. Keep doing it your way, Peter.
The bane of the backcountry, keep them on the farm. These vehicles have caused so much damage in so little time. The thing is they have allowed so many mouth breathin couch potatoes with no backcountry etiquette or experience to explore the backcountry and these folks just don't know how to behave out there. I think the solution is education, or the Bill Burr method.
Right? You wouldn't believe the consideration I put into whether or not I should include it in the edit, but then I surrendered to fact that it's a doc by cyclists for cyclists. Anyway, my wife, a cyclist, laughed her head off. So the fart stayed in!
Love this video, really well done, but the thing that put the biggest smile on my face was the caution sign as he was going around the switch back, no s- - t. Thanks PS the two gals looked like Ann and Jen from the Hot Tomato?
You are correct. I had no idea who they were, but they rode up to me while Wayne and I were waiting for Pete. Serendipity beats planning while shooting documentaries.
So many Moab legends don’t make it to the public knowledge. Dunno if that’s a shame or extra cool for the true legends. Shooting the vid I did with Pete at White Rim, Sevenoff told me at length (as he is oft to do) about local legends doing such things, and bragging or lying about it at local watering holes. Was cut from final edit, due to time, but feel that a local could do a really cool piece on such accounts of daring-do and heroics.
As knowing his dad, Dale, and uncle, Wayne, Peter comes from USA cycling royalty....awesome effort from a seasoned pro. The rude behaviour of buggy riders is typical due to their ignorance.
Beside the aerodynamic advantage? Have you ever held onto MTB, or any handlebars for ten hours of rough riding? Every time I've gone over ~ eight hours, I'm desperately seeking new places to put my hands. I've even resorted to putting, horror of horrors, bar-ends on my XC bike when doing White Rim day-laps. But mostly, it's fast.
If a man (person) rides a trail, and he doesn't have Strava, did he really ride it? Fuck yes! I am all for everybody doing their own thing, as long as it doesn't impinge on others, but riding a trail like the Kokopelli for Fastest Known Times seems to miss the point of such a trail, in my opinion. I used to live in Fruita, CO (and hope to again some day) which is just East of the eastern terminus of the Kokopelli Trailhead and have ridden its segments many times. It is absolutely beautiful. The fact he was cursing Mother Nature at the end of his ride is ridiculous. She gave this trail, this area, as a gift. It is freaking amazingly wonderous. Pause your ride, turn off your Strava, lift your head and appreciate the beauty. That trail isn't a race track. Its an Eden. When I watch this video, it makes me yearn to be standing on the cliffs overlooking the Colorado again, smelling the sagebrush and juniper, but it also makes me feel like he (and his ilk) are prostituting that trail system. If speed is your thing, go ride circles around a BMX track (with your Strava on 😜) and leave the trail to those who see it for what it is. I wish Pete no ill will, but, as someone who loves the trail for itself, and the bike being a great way to get out and enjoy nature, I felt this needed to be said. Once again, just this man's opinion.
The dude that dropped all the dust on you was not cool!! Congrats

Look for the plate in the credits too.
standing up cycling is just badass and a sign of true endurance in my book !!

Congratz on the record. Difficult to imagina how hard this is, let alone for non pro riders. Also love this style of mini documentary.

10:10 - 10:20 what a jerk dusting out a biker like that!

🎥🚴♂ Wow, just wow! This cycling video is a masterpiece. We're honored to include it in our collection and celebrate the cycling spirit together! 🎊
10:09 Side by side being a real winner.
Not giving a single F about their surroundings. 🤣

@@ticklefritz5406 Bingo.
Wow! That was very enjoyable! Reminds me of our ride on the KT 25 years ago! It took us three days, though... 😄
Awesome ride and great video - thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly the last scene 😂
wonderful watch. Amazing footage. Great editing. Thanks for posting this.
This is wild. Thanks for sharing!
very nice documentary, i hope you make it again
That end scene 😂😂😂, me falling to the back of ever group ride to relieve the pressure

KAFFEINE Keiser luckily you did!!! Reminds me of all the group rides with my friends... 😂😂😂
Love the aero bars

great video! Nice work Pete
RFV well represented!
What a great watch would luv to attempt something like that well done.👍
Fantastic :)
Fantastic, so where are you going next?
Gary Dye a Moab legend was the first to do it in a single day. Very well known fact around Moab.

Wonderful ride and excellent video! Anyone know what kind of aero bars Peter's using on his bike for this effort?
Wonder if I could do this on my single speed steamroller?!
This guys mustache game is on point
I´d never attempet a record on this trail, too nice of a view for that.
Just AWESOME!💪🏻👊🏻👍🏻👏🏻
Big Tall Wayne is a stud too btw
Great job, Pete! What did you use for electrolytes?
Spring water!
I'd imagine scratch labs or something like that
@@Aeroskiii Why reply if you don't know?
Congratulations!!!
Nice Twin Six shirt!!
grande Peter dall'Italia.Super
I need a Lux :)
Congrats!
"Unless somebody did it without Strava." But then did they though?
Thanks for video
Nice work Pete
Awesome. Amazing. No strava link for this?
why do you think its fkt and not kom
I rode that in 5 days once. With a van and tour guide. I guess I have the slowest known time.
What kind of aerobar can we put on the canyon lux or exceed with the cockpit cp08 ?
Fantastic ride !
There is no option to put any extensions on the CP08.
What aero bars did Pete use?
He uses the Alloy Pro aerobars.
Canyon bike super 👍🏻
what is the music in the background.. its superb?
Finish line was when you touched your front tire to the outhouse. Has that changed?
Yes, as is the outhouse is no longer there to touch.
My legs would have cramped up about 29 miles in
Where did they state the time? I missed it, and can't find it skimming back through.
In the closing credits at 22:45 and again at 25:31 But to save you searching, Peter did 10:24:43
You didn't watch the whole video, busted!
@@ticklefritz5406 I did, but obviously my focus lapsed at key points.
@@kaffeinekeiser9091 thanks!
just awesome...

Appreciate the warts (farts) and all coverage 👍
That is crazy fast, it takes most people 3 days to ride that
My man is one lean cyclist!
when canyon prototype trails bike comes to sale?
There are no detailed plans yet. If this changes and we can share any news, we will of course do so on social media.
@@CanyonBicycles please make production of these bike. Other street trails bikes are costly😭🥺. Please make them at affordable price please
That video closing thought! Fart away!
Awesome video. What's the name of the song at 22:45?
"Old Cattle Ranch" by L-Ray Music Studio
How do you thumbsdown a 10+ hour effort. Sheesh
what's the prototype tire?
Kurt should race gravel
Why does he have aero bars on a MTB

Awesome. Would love to know the tires he used . Anyone know?
Watch to the end, all the gear he used is listed. 24:04
Anyone know what kind of water filter that is?

@@peterstetina2075 Thanks for the reply and congratulations! Super cool video as well.
Another day at the office
Ahh hell nah he got the aero bars
did a couple years of riding with cliff bars, now just thinking about em makes me puke in my mouth a bit.
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Not even close, Lachlan Morton did it in 11 hours.
fkt is for ppl without strava?
❤🚴
Wow
The car at 10:13 fucked you up
I could do that too if I had an $8k piece of hardware between my legs. Damn straight.

Isn't this the guy who had a fit about aero bars at Unbound? "And aero bars deal with it"

I’m sure he cares, but after working that hard in anything your bound to get angry. The only thing around was Mother Nature.
