Great work dude! Takes mucho guts to journey alone over 500 miles!!!! In FL wilderness. I never have!! Swamps, single tracks, head wind, night time riding could easily get in the wrong lane and have to back track and also thot of quiting… keep up what ur doin surely ur a warrior while staying composed and chill on camera totally a champion for completing that route holy moly man

Awesome video brother you did great, remember Florida has a lot of sand and gets you real tired, you might think its easy to get 240 miles in 24 hrs very difficult in Florida no need to exert yourself too much, just work

What a great and inspiring story. I just bought my first, entry level, gravel bike. A bit nervous about some of those routes , but mostly, much older than you and have my doubts. Ive don’t a few marathons but that looked tougher. Awesome

I have the same type of anxiety where I kind of close up and prepare myself mentally and it comes off as quiet or nervous. The WORST thing to me is when someone tries to pump you up like that guy lol.

@@Flacycling If you're interested to go bikepacking check out some of the places I've been. For example Kissimmee WMA is a great area for gravel rides, or check out my Florida Coast to Coast (C2C) Trail videos 250 miles on paved trails. Florida is a great place to ride. I'm also a birder so if you're interested of nature this might be something to enjoy. I have tons of videos of birding too. Anyway all the best to your outdoor adventures 👍

I bike backed in Florida as well. In 2021 and then left 2023 January to get to gulf shores. It was a 10 day ride. Hit some rain storms on my way.
Robert, YOU are my effing hero. What perseverance! I am definitely inspired by your efforts to keep going. I can't tell you how many times I have wussed out just in the Green Swamp. Karlos' routes are unimaginable, but he is the Samurai. Kudos to the video production team. The vid is a masterpiece! I'll definitely be thinking of your trip to get me through my challenges on an upcoming Florida C2C trip! Thanks!

If you need another rider at your side sometime, let me know. These rides are 100x better with a teammate. I honestly don't know that I would've survived Huracan without Tim at my side last month.

@@Flacycling I don't like to run yet but I'm trying to. I tweaked my left Achilles about 350 miles into the Huracan so I've been on hiatus from running for a month. Almost ready to get back into it.

@@Flacycling I haven’t rode in a bit due to some back pain lately but I’ve always enjoyed riding the suncoast parkway. I usually started at Gunn hwy and rode up to Sr 50 and back is a pretty good ride. They’re areas to stop and rest along the way with plenty of water stops too.

Nice video - You got to ride/race with Joe W. (Orange Helmet @ the start). So many of your spots reminded me of when I did CFiTT & Huracan. Congrats on your ride and finish!

I had to drop at mile 250! Never slept tho and had some mechanical issues that I couldn’t fix. Absolutely gutted about it but learned a ton.
Had a massively improved bike set up. New carbon wheels, new drive train… it was awesome. Still ran tubes with the 44mm WTB byways but will go tubeless before unbound xl.
The weather… it was almost freezing at Saturday morning and started to rain on me Sunday morning at like 4 am. Actually as I had the mechanical issues, the gods decided to continue the rain about 8am on Sunday. Otherwise it was perfect all day Saturday.
Felt strong almost the entire time and would’ve probably finished around my goal of about 30ish hours. Probably…

Per the reports and when my friends have run the XL...wider is better. I would go wider then 44's and definitely tubeless! I ran 48s and loved them.

Curious as to which model of Profile Designs Aerobars you’re running? Awesome accomplishment and video!
It’s the “T1 plus double ski bend aluminum aerobars”. But I actually cut maybe 2 or 3 inches off of them. There was too much of the bar between me and the handlebar and I didn’t want to buy something else so… I worked with what I had.

Only had an emergency bivy. Huge mistake. Lesson learned.
