- My 2004 acura tl is up and running with the 3.5l stroker motor that i built. I ran into some issues using the 3.5l block so i started from scratch once again and got it figured out.
Build list:
- J32a3 block and heads
- j35a4 crank and connecting rods
- j32a3 block machined .020 (.5 mm) overbore
- j32a3 oversized pistons (.5 mm) over stock
- the rest was from the j32a3
Thanks for watching and dont forget to give a thumbs up and subscribe for more content.

Please make more videos of this build very interested on how it’s driving and how much hp your pushing
Wow! Would to see more videos! 😎👌🏾
What Pistons did you use
I used the same 3.2l pistons. They are dome shaped for high compression. My were .50mm over bore. Had to get the block bored due to scoring on cylinder walls
Looks and sounds great!
Thanks brotha
Did u use the 3.5 bearings for the crankshaft or did u use the 3.2 bearings for the 3.5 crank
Both bearings are pretty much the same part. But i ended up using the 3.2 because i had a new set for the 3.2
@@JoeFasho ok so the crank is the same as the 3.2 so I probably would just do the 3.5 pistons and rods after bore is done
@@JoeFasho Are the rods the same just bigger piston heads between the two?
Rods are not the same. I used 3.2 pistons for the higher compression and 3.5 crank and rods for the stroker set up
@@JoeFasho thanks man
Did your car make any more power and torque after the build?
Yes it did. Quite a bit more power and torque. Didnt get to dyno it tho. Had to sell to take care of some family related issues
I could of pulled a lil more power out of it if i had the chance to upgrade the injectors and even more if i went with standalone engine management
@@JoeFasho I may do this build on my 06 6mt TL almost time for a rebuild
Its worth it if you are gonna do a rebuild. I would recommend tapping a fitting onto the top of the fuel pump assembly so you can add a fuel return line for an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. The stock one wont be enough and upgrade the injectors to prevent motor from running lean
I put a fpr on mine but didnt put bigger injectors. Which caused me to almost double my fuel pressure just to get air fuel ratio within spec. You will also need at least a 255 fuel pump as well
08 base auto I want to swapped at 3.5 ? What do I need ?
Is that Brother Lynch Hung in the Background!?
I got a type s getting ready to pull the motor and trans and drop it in my 07 base model
Hey bro I just had my Acura TL engine flooded and it hydrolocced, so I think I’m going to take this route. Can you please let me know how do you deal with the check engine light pls, I need it off for emissions because I live in California.
I didnt have an engine light but in order for this to work you will need bigger injectors and to tap the fuel pump lid with a fitting to have a return line added to add a fuel pressure regulator. With those mods, i dont know if cali will pass it. Either way, i ran stock ecu. No tune. Cant tune unless you go stand alone engine management
Also if you are going to do this, get 3.5l crank and rods from an mdx or something with same crank pulley setup. Otherwise if you get pregen 3.5 like i did, you will have to cut about 1inch off the end of crank so it can mount the single belt pulley
Excuse me I'm a Jsereis Fan no matter, And I think you are the smartest one out of all jswaps because it was all stock Ecu and Harness. BUT TT MY QUESTION IS AT THE END YOU REBUILT the J32A3 and put J35A4 crank and Rods in it because if not the stock harness and a few things were different?
It was easier in the long run to install j35 crank and rods into the j32 block. The j35a4 and j32a3 are 2 different generations of the jseries. If i got a j35 or j37 from an mdx, it would have been a straight drop in and plug n play. The j35a4 i pulled from an oddessy. Only thing i had to modify is cutting an inch off crank where pulley mounts to so it can hold the single belt crank pulley in place and have crank bolt be snug
I’ve been looking for youuuuuuuuuuu
Wicked!
It sounds like my A5 MDX
Link on pistons

Any updates
Ill have an update video soon. On vacation visiting my daughter
How much did machine shop, and material cost $
80$ at the machine shop. 100$ for gaskets and bearings. 300 for the donor motor. 150 for the pistons
@@JoeFasho got any suggestions for head's far as performance wise?
Im still looking into that myself. I will probly do some port work to get better flow. I dont want to make it too aggressive due to needing tuning afterwards. And for my year tl (04), i would need full standalone to be able to tune it
