I remember 6 years ago I heard The Letter Black for the first time at a small outdoor concert called Worship Under the Stars. They were the only hard rock band that played but man they rocked that stage! I'll never forget talking and meeting the band and getting to talk with them. Always loved them since, and other bands from that night!

Las 2 versiones me encantan tanto la original de Burn Halo y esta, pero me quedo con esta. La voz de Sarah es mas potente y personalmente considero que es una de las mejores voces Femeninas estilo alternativo que existe, si eso para que dejen de mencionar a Tarja y la fila de cantantes de Metal Gotico y Symphonico (Nightwish, Epica....Etc, que por cierto aburre ver las opiniones que cuando alguien comenta y reconoce a una buena cantante salen a poner lo mismo y hablan de lo mismo, que Tarja es lo máximo, Simone Simons, Floor Jansen ,Etc Etc nadie dice que no sean buenas en lo personal me encantan pero cada quien en su estilo, la pregunta es no se cansan de decir lo mismo?) la verdad no se porque comparan un estilo con otro si son totalmente distintos.
lo que tiene Burn Halo es la potencia de la voz, las 2 versiones son buenas, solo que esta la supera con creces.

This band, along with Skillet, have become my all-time favorites. I am sure many will agree that they sometimes even get sick of the stuff they usually listen to. These two however stuck with me ever since I first listened to them. :)

The one time I've absolutely loved Pandora! This band was just amazing and then they are Christian! Just makes them even better. :) It's rare when you find rock/rap/dance bands that tell the name of the Lord through music. Not all religious music has to be slow songs! :) So glad I found this band!

I saw them on the tour with Skillet. I have all the bands that played that night’s autographs on a vip pass. Not that an autograph is particularly important, but almost 13 years later and I still think about this band and how great they are and cherish the fact that I have that memory. ❤️

I'm shocked this vid doesn't have any views. I don't think their new album was the greatest thing ever, there's about 3 songs I really like, but this was the best of them and I'm thrilled they made a video for it.

I just discovered this band by accident and I have to say I'm enjoying it's sound.
sure... it's not the best (female vocals) band ever, but I surely like it when I find out that bands like this are actually 'reli-rock' bands. It just proves that 'religious music' doesn't have to sound boring at all!

well you cant really compare The Letter Black to bands like Within Temptation and Epica. The Letter Black is just a great rock group with a talented female vocalist. These other groups fall under the genre of symphonic metal, a genre which i find is filled with pure beauty. The Letter Black is going for a different tone in their music. Sharon and Tarja for example go for a more elegant sound whereas Sarah goes for a more rock atmosphere

by the way, as I understand it, it was written by someone before, but my hope is that these guys are putting a spiritual touch to it.
The "ready to fight," in my belief, could be saying that they're willing to wage spiritual battle with the enemy, as opposed to the song being about an ex-lover.
Is this a cover for Burn Halo's Up from the ashes? Both songs sound quite similar for me. Especially the lyrics.
If it's not a cover, they completely ripped off Burn Halo, because it's the exact same song. Not very Christian of them to do that/give no credit to Burn Halo.

This is not a cover of a song for it to be a cover the band would have to not be affiliated with this song, but one of the band members in The Letter Black co wrote this song.

Why didn't this give credit anywhere to Burn Halo? Since it's their song and all, it probably should. Kinda rude.
I think they did them credit. Just not in the video or description because it is illegal to steel a song from someone else without giving away some form of permission. They would had gotten sued and the video would have been down by now due to the copy right stuff. Because the video is still up I guess they did give away some form of credit away even if its not in the description or video.
Madison McHenry i'm sure they have the credit on their album or something, but it would have been nice for them to do it here too, so that it could help burn halo get some more fans and recognition for the song. a lot of people seeing this don't know it's not the letter black's song.
I agree they should have at least said the original songs creators in the video or description. kind of like what Selena Gomez did, she took the song magic from pilot and didn't even leave any kind of credit to them in the music video or the description. @@BrandonCullop actually that's inaccurate. James Hart wrote the song with Dave Bassett, ( shinedown, Rachel platten, Elle king, etc...).
I worked for Burn Halo from 2010-2014. After the touring for the Up From the Ashes cycle ended, Hart got a call from Bassett about using the song for another band. He gave permission and that's how they were able to use the song.
For music videos the only credits are usually the song title, band/artist name, and director name.
Filed with the publishing companies are the song owners and song writers. While it's sort of a cover by today's definition standards, back in the early era of popular music it was commonplace for a song to have been recorded and released by multiple people.
How could it be that this video has only 281k views when Katy Perry has 450m views on the one video i could see on her channel cause i was there like 2 seconds...
