I love that Nikki takes Camper everywhere she’s able to even in to the bathrooms. I very rarely leave my dog in my van because I’m afraid somebody will steal my van with my dog in it. I would be devastated.
I don't know how I got to your channel, but I got goose bumps when I saw that park sign and recognized the office area when you drove to it. I remember those stairs towards the beach very well too. My girlfriend and I happened to get the camping spot to the left of that stairs. We were very lucky since it was the 4th of July 2019, and it seemed like everyone was out to go camping 🤔. The first night we were allowed to stay at the field near the office, because all the spots were taken. I always wake up early and after a short recon the next morning, we moved our tiny tent from the field to that great spot. Lake Michigan was 'refreshing'🥶, but during the day it was well above 80F, so that was actually nice. The chipmunks came close to our tent and were a joy to watch. Great times! There are so many things to do in Michigan that would surprise many - many people who have never been to the "mitten state"... And the Great Lakes are unlike any other bodies of water. They truly are..... I am envious Nikki - enjoy to the fullest!!!
My home state is Ohio but I always felt like I had two home states with Michigan. Toledo is right on the Ohio Michigan border, so I grew up spending quite a bit of time in both states. Now I live in the Florida Keys which is AMAZING. Still miss the green trees, camp grounds, and gorgeous parks of NW Ohio and SE Michigan though.
Michigan is by far one of my favorite places in the U.S. I spent a lot of my time as a solo female traveler on the east coast. That's where my journey began. I love watching your adventures! It brings back fond memories of Hocking Hills and now Michigan. Thank you for giving me new ideas and inspiration. Now I'm on the west coast traveling. Just visited your favorite truck stop bathtub LOL I'm definitely thinking of going back to Saugatuck and Upper Peninsula before the end of summer.

Our neighbor is a sauna! I have used MI_Saunas! Dan provides a great sauna culture and over 220 degrees with an ice bath feels soooo good for the body and soul!! Thank you for sharing!

As a Finn, we are proud of our Saunas and we have it in our houses next to bathroom mostly, some small city apartments excluded. And of course our summer houses next to lake. And of course the proper ones as just as this was heated with wood, not those electric ones! Finland is a small country of only 5.5 million people but we have over 3 million Saunas here! 😃

I did my first true ice bath a few months ago in Mexico. That was an experience. I had done my legs only before and that was tough...but whole body (up to neck) was a whole different expereince!!

My step father is a Finn and we had some lake front property a few miles down the road from Sudbury Ontario Canada which had a traditional wood burning sauna there. We loved it so much that we (the family) built one on our farm land just outside of Brantford Ontario Canada. Sadly we no longer live on either piece of land now, but it sure was a lot of fun putting it to good use then. So glad you got to try the sauna out for yourself. Take care and be well.

Love my 5-star-car. Keep on the look out for a tow vehicle and vintage trailer. They give you the most square feet for the dollar. My set up cost less that 10k. I would not give up the little car. Small cars are just to convenient to give up. Also a 7 by 14 foot cargo trailer is good. Those trailers tend to have lots of resale value.
It's amazing what seems like an empty plan less day can end up been the most rewarding and memorable for right reason ..hope you enjoyed at them strawberry nikki...
