Beautiful city mate. I just started a week ago and I was like ooooooooo stopping the video all over the place to see your design. Very very elaborate and smartly well done.
Also, not sure if you are aware, but I discovered a trick to turn all your city streets into red brick, but the townsfolk dont use it as a main method of travel, and it costs a fortune to do, but looks absolutely beautiful. Place those 1 tile cobble stone parks in every spot your normal road would be in, and upgrade them, and your entire city will turn red.
imagine bringing a ram to raid a town without walls, lol. mate you saved me a lot of hassle, been trying to work around having no walls boxing the town but still well fortified. this will help a lot
give me your e-mail and i can sent you screen from the top,so u can see all my town...i have nothing like diagram or u can find it in farthest frontier group on FB
I don't know how you play until 800 or 1,000 population, mine starts getting annoying FPS issues at 500. Maybe I would need to play 1x speed, which I can't stand.
@@Plagueheart I turned off the highlight behind buildings feature and eased up on the shading and some other video options and it helped a bit. One of the biggest FPS destroyer is fence building. For some reason it really tasks the game.
everything i've heard, is that at this stage, its the cpu that bottlenecking things, not the graphics card. if you have an old cpu, and are thinking of upgrading anyways, this might be the time. i would also look at your ram, make sure you have 16 gigs. i have 32 gigs, and a I-7 8700 3.7ghz. nvidea 2080 video card. i won't say that at larger populations, i don't have some lag here and there, but i often play it at 2x and 3x speeds, and its really not much of a problem. i mostly pause game, make what changes i need to, then let it run. i take all my games up to 1k pop. don't know if that spec inof will help or not, but hope so.

After messing with some shading and misc other video settings it did help and I was able to go 620 before I just got bored of that map. It had some lag, but mostly while it was building roads and fences, for some reason those are real laggy. I also tend to pause when I'm building so that does help.

Good comment. I hadn’t realized. He’s not running walls for his city. Ahhhhhh.
Amazing defense system!
Also, how do you have so much greenery in and around your town?
Decorations...i planted a lot of trees
seon, your town layout is very interesting. do you have a diagram you can post to show your layout?

Its seriously annoying how in this game the archers dont finish off enemies, but let them live and get away. This 1 feature is so frustrating.
How can you play with that much lag ?

well...i play 1x speed...10fps max in my 1000 pop city...but its early access
The game needs better optimization for sure, I wonder if its due to Object Culling when they are not displayed on the screen
