There are lots of downsides of organic layout though, sometimes villagers refuse to build houses on a piece of land even after increasing desirability. Usually I end up with so much empty space. I wish there was a middle way where villagers build houses but you could also manually build some.
@@rumali_roti7406 You can work around this. Remove some of the houses already there, and normally they'll rebuild them and use the space better. They rebuild them very fast.
@@rumali_roti7406it does give a feel of realism. City planning was a lost science during the Middle Ages, and I guess this Medieval-like game shows you that.
One of my favorite city builder is Caesar 3 and following Impressions City Builders. Played Anno's, Simcity games, Cities and Skylines. Many games in this genre. But first time played this kind of organic city buider. It's chill, scene is relaxing, looks natural. Following this game for a few years and waiting for full release. It'a a great game.
With worker reassignment, a trick I picked up from another YTber was to open the target building and just pick a person from the list of employed workers in any other building. They'll finish up what they're doing and move over to the new job site. Really handy when you're needing to reassign workers. For example, in the case of lumber camps, you can build a new camp, and just reassign workers from a now un-needed camp. They'll eventually move over to the new camp and the old one can be deleted, either right away or when it's stack of logs is used up.
I love it (since my first The Settlers game) that I use the wood to cut first (same you do at your second lumberjack) to clean place an not waste the resources e.g. wood. I not see a problem to earn the berries at another place and store it - no problem to sell or to use it as extra food for my new folks. After the churches (same the wall) give mercy around as circle should it placed at middle or at one side (here left) then the village and right a new bigger church. Most folks forget the bonus of special points how do you can earn with placing of things. After the planters works at your place how you "create" with painting it is good to build it so early as possible but I think the lumber should be cut first before do start new trees. If it free do you can place houses without losing trees. Looks crazy if do you use two or three storage houses at different points of your map but if do you want build bigger buildings or strongholds do you have things near - here do you need good transport administration too. This allows you faster to reaction if the King want things or build buildings or change goods with neighbour's. This game copying many old settler functions so that I thinking that some old designers works on this game. The painting in opposite saves you to build and trashing lumberjack and other industries buildings so fast as in old settler times. This game is wonderful with so many different designs and details e.g. free build the churches, strongholds or monk homes. The new detail for make multiple bell sounds is a wonderful idea. Hope the pastor works now.
Thank you, Pravus, for the introduction to yet another pretty city-builder! There is another game I know, which works with the same self-building of paths. Where people walk, they beat out the road in time. It is called "Ostriv", 17-18sh century Ukrainian village builder. Resources and money management are quite unique too. Do not remember any other city-builder game, where you have pay salary to your peeps while managing "the village stash" as well. People then spend their money as they see fit, so you get some of it back.
I think that you should build a castle on the center of the island is a perfect place to set on and military on the small island next to the big island. Pravus
I got this game years ago and it was ok. Relaxing but not much to it. I gave it another try recently and was amazed by how good it became. Thanks for the explanation on how to play it!
those desired Path roads remind me of the settler 3/4 (i think). it really adds a lot of charm to the game. City builders nowadays focus to much on the grid system for my liking
I waited years to see you play this great game. Please do not stop. I never was able to max it out with like multiple layer fortress, but you can I am sure.
I play this with a couple of mods and have been able to create some amazing and semi-historical/realistic medieval city. The best one i've made was a novigrad like city. Its perfect that most of the building is modular and there are a couple of mods that add so many extra details or building options. The huge church/monestary on the hill was the church of the eternal fire and it just looked right. I highly recommend this game!
one last thing: they have to include nature, trees, rivers, beaches, waterfalls and such should add to happiness (have a radius) but still a great game in regard to building organic cities
Thank you, that fun to watch. I also like the way you explain the game in easy layman terms. I only problem I have watching is trying to read any menu you pop up ( I have a low end graphics card), but otherwise a great experience to watch. Have a Great one!!!
I love foundation, i have a request though, you should turn off the yellow borders around your territory, it makes your town feel more open and i think it looks far nicer
I'd love to see you try out Ostriv, if you haven't already. Another colony-sim where you aren't building on a grid and paths are automatically made from where your settlers walk.
Had a dream about you a while back, you were playing Plague Inc. It was some eternal flood scenario, but instead of playing normally you were driving a train and just collecting points. After a while I though ot myself ,,why isn't he buying any upgrades?" Right after that you bought an upgrade called "smile potato" and the dream ended
There was city builder on youtube where the guy has one guy building a building piece by piece & even when you exit the game the guy is still building the building does anyone know what game this was. You basically start off with like a single worker to build/ do anything?
UI is in dire need of complete rework. Why do I have to UI click to confirm actions or building placement for example, why there are scrolling parts in floating menus, why are windows not resizable, why is everything so tiny yet there are big blanks of unused space... But other than that, this looks like nice relaxing building-management game.
"We're not going to be playing with very many mods" *proceeds to show us a screen where the mod he says he'll be using is disabled but he hit play anyway* Not sure you understand what "disabled" means, but that means the mod won't be on during gameplay.
I can't go back to grid based city builders anymore. The growth and building in this game is so organic, looks fantastic.
What about something like Ostriv, which blends (very nicely, I might add) the ability to do grid based or free-form?

I bet this episode will be a great foundation to another great series.

😎
Bazinga!
@@CallOn84 LOL when i translated this it said Fuck!
OMG HAHAHAHH I GET IT SO FUNNY LOL (sorry this isent meant to offend u lol)
RE: Church bells. You can have multiple bell towers so you can have the church play a tune with the different delays.

The most relaxed city building game

The multi part and customizable building concept is pretty original!
Man this is making me homesick for Tropico 6 - probably my fav game ever in this genre.
Thank you, Pravus, for the introduction to yet another pretty city-builder!

No because you don't understand how long I've waited for another foundation series I love this game and I love watching you play it. Praise Pravus
Wow, I really like the automatic path ways appearing, based on usage. ❤
The building were always just awesome for me, the fact you can make insane bridges, castles 🏰, and other buildings.
I was sad when the episode ended. I want more :P
I was a big fan of banished. This game just took me to a whole nother level.
I got this game years ago and it was ok. Relaxing but not much to it. I gave it another try recently and was amazed by how good it became. Thanks for the explanation on how to play it!
This game looks so calm and relaxing... i love it.

you can feel the love that was put into this game
Should have put the manor on the island🏝️ 😆
Awesome. Can't wait for the rest of the series
A fresh start is a fun relaxing uh start!
I'd argue that The Settlers series was on the forefront of using settler pathing as a way to create paths. Great video though!
hm autobuild roads. reminds me of settlers 3
Just got this game, this was so helpful! Please keep them coming❤
I can't wait until the game is finally released. (the game hasn't been out for 4 years; it has suffered through a 4 years and counting pregnancy),
looking forward to this series, this is a great game
Yes a new Foundation series cool

Love Foundation :)
Loving this and all your videos one of my top youtubers I look for everyday and I'm never disappointed
The bell settings make more sense when you have a lot of them.
Therapist: medieval city skylines isn't real.
Medieval city skylines:
I like how this video starts out with "Game is 4 years old, and still gets updates", but didn't mention that the game is in early access ^^
Undawn 🔝
“If we go over here to the BOOK” 😂😂😂
I am really glad you returned ro this game. I have and love, but I forget about it in options. You reminded me/ Cheers
Wow, I was a big fan of this. I might have to get the game myself.
Praise Pravus for starting another peasant tormenting simulation!
Praise Gimli!
Can’t wait for next ep
This looks like a more realistic Kingdoms and Castle.
The Settlers 4 had automatic/natural roads.
I love foundation, i have a request though, you should turn off the yellow borders around your territory, it makes your town feel more open and i think it looks far nicer
How do you do that
god this game has come a long way since 4 years ago
There is a nice mod what stops the penalty for using fractions point against the other fractions
I'd love to see you try out Ostriv, if you haven't already. Another colony-sim where you aren't building on a grid and paths are automatically made from where your settlers walk.
Great game more plz
