There is a commenter on a lot of Ruby’s case videos, who is constantly defending her. Her user name is Sharflife4. I checked her channel. Her main content is her children’s injuries, hospital visits, ailments….. very disturbing and very suspect. I wonder if she is a part of/one of “the mothers of truth” nonsense and is practicing the same a*busive type of behavior Ruby & Jodi were preaching. There are a lot of extremely disturbing people out there having children & a*busing the life out of their children who support each other’s way of “parenting.”

Actually, that's not true. Jodi has been in the Frankie's lives long before 'Connections'. Jodi was the therapist to the oldest son and several others in the family. Jodi was also the therapist to a general authority and several others in the leadership of the Mormon/LDS church. Go listen to the talks given by president Richard Scott. As a female teen in the Mormon church we were told that it would better for us to die fighting back if raped then to allow the rape to happen. You would be responsible for the second sin next to murder... Sex was second to murder. Jodi has been a horrific influencer in the Mormon church. Many of the torture and mind manipulation Jodi practices and taught Ruby is MKUltra techniques. Jodi's father was military.... I believe Jodi is an MKUltra child and now a therapist that practices mk ultra.

Deprogramming from coercive control/brainwashing takes longer than 3 months. I know. I was raised within a religious group that fosters cognitive dissonance and relies heavily on suppressing individual thought. I left when I was 19 and at 47 I still have to work at listening to my own conscience and not falling back into the distorted world view I was taught as a child. In my opinion Ruby Franke is entirely responsible for what she did to HER children (Jodi is also entirely responsible for her actions). Your job as a parent is to PROTECT your children from danger, not be the source of it! And again, imo, Ruby Franke has plead guilty because she's ashamed...not of her actions but because she got found out. My heart goes out to her kids ❤
I never thought I would see this day. I suffered so many of the same abuses as the Franke children. Sometimes hearing coverage has been so triggering I've almost vomited. Adults in my childhood knew what was going on but there was never an intervention until I ran away as a minor and never went back. I'm in tears here, listening to Ruby pronounce "guilty, guilty, guilty." I feel awful that it's felt so healing for me to hear the public demonize these people for what they did to those children. My abusers will never see their day in court. They don't even think they did anything wrong. I'm certain Ruby and Jodi don't think they're in the wrong. I hope they get help. I hope they will see what they've done and why it's wrong and feel true remorse. I hope more than anything that all of the Franke kids are safe forever now, that they get the therapy they need, and the love and cherishing they've always deserved. This has never been their fault and I hope they can know that truly.

@@TJ-wz3ttthe plea deal was that she dropped 2 charges and will serve consecutive sentences but the time per sentence is left up to the judge minimum 4 years maximum 15 (16-60).

Personally I am in favour of any sentence that will see her put away for enough time that her children can grow to be adults without having to worry about that they will have to go testify about their mom and in a worst case scenario she is found not guilty and pursues them retuning to her custody as children.
I think that's likely. 1 - 15 years per charge. Mid - Range would be 7 per charge and she plead to 4. 4 terms of say 5 years each would be 20 years. The youngest is 9 or 10 years old.
I'm glad the children will not have to testify against their mother that is great for them but I doubt she did it for that reason she was saving herself the shame and embarrassment

I hope she is never allowed to be around her children again until they are adults and it is up to them to decide. A forty some year old woman with 4 kids needs to take responsibility for her actions! Also, the husband should be held accountable. How sad for those children.
As much as I agree that not testifying against a parent is more beneficial to the kiddos at this time. In the long run, the kids won’t have as much time free from her in the future. As a survivor of severe sexual and physical abuse at the hands of the person who gave birth to me, 17 years seemed like a long time when the plea deal was offered. Now, I hate the fact that the defendant in my case only received less than half of what she could have received if we had gone to trial and I testified against her. It’s a catch 22 either way. My heart breaks for these kiddos and am also so glad the older kiddo was able to get away and save them both. Kudos to you buddy! You are a hero!
She walked in all smug and smiling and you could tell that she grudgingly pled guilty. She faked feeling bad or sorry when she spoke. She deserves harsh prison time. Clearly she is going to testify against her co defendant, even though she has been guilty of child neglect and abuse for years before ever meeting the other abuser who I refuse to say her name.

...or it means they offered her a deal in exchange for testifying against Jodi, who is, by far, the much bigger target, here. Jodi's history is long, and deeper than people think it is.
Unfortunately for her, there's no way that Jodi is going to plead guilty -- she's way too corrupt. Some of her information will be dragged out regardless.

I don't have children. I understand it can be difficult. But I don't understand how you can be so angry as to harm your children, or any child, not once in a fit of rage, but repeatedly, systematically and sadistically. I watched the Shanda Vander Ark case and to me it looks like these children could have ended up dead, too. My heart breaks for all children that are tortured by their parents.

Few things I noticed…Ruby looks at her attorney with looks of anger, a hateful sort of look. She does not address the judge with “your honor.” Her parents clearly came back from their mission but it seems very recently as Ruby’s sisters continued to claim the parents were still on their mission a couple weeks ago. Meaning they didn’t come back for their grandchildren they came back for Ruby. Her sister Julie seems to flash a slight smile at Ruby as Ruby is leaving the courtroom. Does not seem that her sisters Bonnie nor Ellie were there. Ruby’s guilty admission is delivered with an angry look, she is not convinced she’s done anything wrong. There is no look or facial expressions of remorse or sadness only a look of anger.
That look of anger was at the prosecutor. Watch close, it softens to something submissive/doe eyed as her eyes drift to her own attorney. Gave me the heeby jeebies. 😳
@wmdkitty her sisters are nutter butters too, but unless they are doing something comparable to holding their kids heads under water or hog tying them, then I'm they're not even close.
Just terrible. I really feel that anyone that has been involved with Jody's 'therapy' and has children needs to have CPS go and interview their kids too because I'm sure there are a lot more victims suffering this torture. Thank you Emily for covering this.
When you read the statement of truth where Victim 1 & 2 were forced to do physical labor I thought of the 16 & 14 year old children doing “chores” for Pam Bodthner. When the police arrived, the girls were both barefoot although Pam and her husband were in shoes/appropriate footwear. I feel like Pam is also involved in “punishing” Ruby’s children. Even Jesse Hildebrandt spoke about Pam watching and reporting back to Jodi about behavior. All three of these women are guilty and should be in prison.
I was very surprised to hear "consecutive." I was afraid they would give her a pass. But, we don't know how many years for a while yet. Ruby was breathing pretty hard during the plea. I think she was scared alright.
She used the word “distorted” in her statement (or allowed it to be used, which is the same to me). That tells me everything I need to know about any supposed self reflection or “reset of her moral compass.”
I seriously doubt they are there to support her. One of her sisters, Julie, who is sitting next to her mom and her brother, has spoken out against Ruby.
I think it’s a very complicated situation for the family. If one of my sisters were charged I would probably show up because I would want to hear from her and the guilty plead…. However unless the family was told where to sit I wouldn’t have sat on her side, but that could be where they had to sit. I just hope the whole blame isn’t placed on Jodi - by Ruby and the family.
They’re probably there to see for themselves what’s happening. I think it’s a bit unnecessary to speculate if they’re there in support of her. I doubt they are.
This makes me feel more fortunate than ever that I was adopted by two great parents and had such a blessed upbringing. I feel equally as sad for the kids in this case. I only hope they go on to live happy and healthy lives in the future.
when we got to the part of what she admitted to, i cried. thats so awful. how could anyone ever do that to a child? i will never be able to understand. i wish i could give those kids a hug and tell them they are so worthy of love, self love and love from others.
Am I the only one thinking that it’s a bit gross for her to seem like she spent a lot of time and energy thinking about how to make her hair look good? I get that there’s a level of wanting to have some dignity and feel like yourself but seriously? Her kids were starved and bound. Same with Laurie daybell. Makes me think they are sitting in a cell thinking about themselves, not what they’ve done.
The Franke parents were abusing and exploiting their children long before Jodie came along. Ruby’s lawyer can try to spin it all he wants but we’ve all seen the video evidence on her “family channel”.
Just because that’s what you felt you saw on her channel was not the case Jody was her church leader for years before. She gave books on how to discipline and council etc

Judge Walton IS NOT an easy judge especially when it comes to children. I am friends with 3 of the law partners he worked with. Judge Walton served as a Deputy Washington County Attorney. He was an associate with Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough probably the most highly regarded firm in St George, Ut. IMO this won’t be a cakewalk for Ruby. Most likely she would serve at Salt Lake or Gunnison both state prisons. Gunnison is a smaller maximum security so IMO it will be Salt Lake which is min-max.
If you think about it, it is rather hard for her to say, she didn't know about the malnutrition. Malnutrition doesn't happen overnight. It takes as little as 3 months and even less if they aren't eating at all.

I’m a new subscriber. About. 20 some years ago my dad did a plea deal for abuse and the judge had me go see him in his chambers while he determined what the sentence would be. I was scared to death, as I was taught judges and police and others in authority were to be looked to with respect, and it scared the crap out of little me.
Her actions were akin to the treatment of prisoners of war before the Geneva convention. I'm amazed her son, especially, is alive. Cruel and unusual punishment to be sure. This comes on the heels of Shanda Vander Ark, in Michigan, whose son was sadly a victim of malnutrition and hypothermia and didn't survive. I hope she gets the max!

Adam Steed was successful at getting Hildebrandt's license suspended. Unfortunately, that was all he got out of his case with her, where she was coaching his ex-wife to get him convicted of child and wife abuse and expelled from his Mormon school and church. After the board looked further into that case, they apologized to Steed for not taking him more seriously. The Mormon church backed Hildebrandt all the way, recommended couples to her, and were even involved in the boy scout child abuse case in which Steed as a child had to go thru. Double victim of abuse. Guess we can't bust the Mormon leaders to aid and abetted Hildebrandt. But we get her busted this time. Hopefully, she can never harm anyone else. Thank you for covering this - it is vital to take Hildebrandt out b4 she harms anyone else or possibly kills someone. There are so many quiet victims of abuse who never get any attention or rescue. We have to bust as many as we can.
She is not going to have it easy in prison. Women in prison do not welcome women who abuse their kids. I'm sure all the inmates know who she is and are probably just waiting!
A natural outcome..I think this children could be dead, if the boy did not escape.. can you imagine what happened to him, if he was found "trying" to escape? Would they still be alive today?? If the boy did not succeed in escaping?

So I was watching the Law and Crime Network interview of a lawyer in Utah. She said that the parole board, not the judge, will be determining the length of the sentence. She postulated that Ruby will only get 4 years sentence with 40% time served.
EDB got the scoop - whoop whoop 🙌 - Frankie statement sounded more like when an addict is talking about making amends with those hurt. NOT a statement that was about the ABUSE of her own children and she allowed it ! 😡
I hope the judge sentences her to the maximum for each count. So 60 years which if the good time is even 50% she’d still be over 70 years old when she gets out. I’d prefer that she is never allowed to be free again. These charges are heinous as is her actions towards her children so I would be satisfied if she is never free again.
As a child that experienced some abuse and neglect, if it were 11 year old me, I would WANT to testify. It’s not for the comfort of the child, it’s for the adults’ comfort. These kids suffered for YEARS while the whole world watched. I would have wanted every adult to listen to my every word. And then I would have looked directly at the judge every time I recounted each time I asked for help. It’s not to save the children. It’s to hide our own guilt

Accidentally said "what the f***" out loud about the part where she loves her children. All that she did to her children, before and after meeting Jodi, was not love.
I do believe she was influenced by jodi, but she allowed and was open to that influence. She wasnt ever a devoted mother, she was a dog lead by the bone. Jodi offered her the bone and Ruby took it willingly.
My opinion of what I've heard is Ruby was bad b4 Hildebrandt, but I'm willing to let her plead because the person who has done so much more damage is Hildebrandt. She needs to be taken out. I credit Ruby for not making her children testify against her - the whole thing is a nightmare for those kids. They're likely to suffer complex PTSD the rest of their lives - suffering from that myself, I know it is difficult and heartbreaking. I hope Adam Steed will be able to heal better when Hildebrandt gets prison time. I feel so much for him and his family - he is a double victim, which is really awful.
I agree with everything you said, although I struggle to believe that Ruby pled guilty to spare her children. She seems sadistic and cruel when she comes to her kids. So I find it more likely she did it to spare herself the shame of all the evidence coming out and potentially more than we already know about through testimony

EDB - thanks for going over this. I work in a criminal division in AZ (Superior/Phoenix), and have worked in San Luis Obispo (CA)…this plea is so lenient compared to what we would see here in either of those Courts for the same thing (even with no priors). Apparently the Judges in Utah also don’t set the sentences - someone mentioned a board does this. Why would they use this method? AZ and CA are much more similar (though AZ has lower Courts). I really appreciate your great mind, thoughts, and explanations:). ❤
Omg those poor kids. And this is just what she’s pleading to. What else went on? When I see these cases involving children I think about my mom. She couldn’t have kids. She adopted me from birth and she would say “these people can have kids easily and look what they did”
she was also charged with making the little boy exercise outside, without water and his skin ended up in blisters from the sunburn. Hopefully that is one of the 4 counts that she will gets sentenced to...harshly I hope

I was a victim of abuse by my mother and I just want to hug these babies and tell them how strong they are, that this is their hero backstory, and noone will hurt them like this ever again. I just want to hug and cry with them. Because I know how damaging this is. I want them to know they are not alone. These babies are so strong. My heart is with them as a fellow survivor of abuse and neglect

It’s usually very healing for victims to be able to state how their abuser affected them-- to their abuser directly. I wonder if the children will get that chance.
This isnt just an abuser. This is their mother and they are both still small children.. there's no way any benefit of being able to "call her out" would outweigh the trauma of having to testify against their own mother.

I don’t know how parole works in Utah, but I hope however it works she does 6yr and whatever on parole. Before release for any parole, she needs a mental evaluation to determine if she might abuse her grandchildren as she will probably have some by then. I don’t want her abusing or starving babies or influencing her children in parenting. The lawyer’s statement is tone deaf. He needed a lawyer with public relations understanding to help. When i was on a jury in the uk a screen was put up so the victim could only see the judge and barristers is there no way this can be done in the US court?

Ruby was an abusive parent before Jodi came along. And she made millions on it. Ruby is a perpetrator and not a victim. The kids are the victims and Kevin, Rudy and Jodi should not be allowed near children and animals ever again. I can remember getting the cane as a 5th grader and laughed afterwards. We were interrogated as kids then given the old jug cord. If she was in a foul mood we were made to have a cold shower first. Back in the days where the kid was charged with neglect, and we would keep our mouths shut and could block pain. Trauma is for life

@@neurotoxicity Jodi is back on the schedule for next Wednesday. It was weird it wasn't there yesterday. In Ruby's plea, it was VERY specific she has to testify against Jodi and not lie. I think that will be hard for Ruby considering the circumstances and their weird relationship. If Ruby lies the plea deal can be dismissed and she'd be back in court.
I work in Child Welfare - I preface I am not trying to invalidate what these children have gone through, its horrible. However, I have seen so many children put through similar or worse and their parents don't even get charged. Then scream at us that we took their kids away and tore their family apart. I don't think it will ever fail to baffle me the ways some people feel entitled to treat their children. All children deserve parents, not all parents deserve kids. It's almost impossible to not become numb to what people like Ruby do when you see it lots. You'd lose your mind if you didn't. Nonetheless, it is unforgivable what she's done. I hope all her children find peace and healing.
Hi Emily, I would love if you would look into and talk about the Troubled Teen Industry. Hundred of thousands of kids have been abused on a daily basis by mainly Mormon ran facilities (similar methods to this case). I wish there was something legally I could do to get justice for the abuse I suffered but they legally cover their asses so well and hide their abuse very well.
Both Ruby and Jodie are both in the Purgatory Corrections Facility in Washington County and have been housed in different units.. They can not see each other nor are they allowed to communicate with each other..
Could the other children come forward in some capacity and get Ruby against for the things she did to them? Could they get justice against Kevin and his involvement? 🤔

I think the judge will sentence 5yrs per charge. At least I hope thats the minimum the judge will sentence and not just a year becuse that is disgusting.

Actually, that's not true. Jodi has been in the Frankie's lives long before 'Connections'. Jodi was the therapist to the oldest son and several others in the family. Jodi was also the therapist to a general authority and several others in the leadership of the Mormon/LDS church. Go listen to the talks given by president Richard Scott. As a female teen in the Mormon church we were told that it would better for us to die fighting back if raped then to allow the rape to happen. You would be responsible for the second sin next to murder... Sex was second to murder. Jodi has been a horrific influencer in the Mormon church. Many of the torture and mind manipulation Jodi practices and taught Ruby is MKUltra techniques. Jodi's father was military.... I believe Jodi is an MKUltra child and now a therapist that practices mk ultra.

I never thought I would see this day. I suffered so many of the same abuses as the Franke children. Sometimes hearing coverage has been so triggering I've almost vomited. Adults in my childhood knew what was going on but there was never an intervention until I ran away as a minor and never went back. I'm in tears here, listening to Ruby pronounce "guilty, guilty, guilty."
I feel awful that it's felt so healing for me to hear the public demonize these people for what they did to those children. My abusers will never see their day in court. They don't even think they did anything wrong. I'm certain Ruby and Jodi don't think they're in the wrong. I hope they get help. I hope they will see what they've done and why it's wrong and feel true remorse.
I hope more than anything that all of the Franke kids are safe forever now, that they get the therapy they need, and the love and cherishing they've always deserved. This has never been their fault and I hope they can know that truly.

Personally I am in favour of any sentence that will see her put away for enough time that her children can grow to be adults without having to worry about that they will have to go testify about their mom and in a worst case scenario she is found not guilty and pursues them retuning to her custody as children.

I think that's likely. 1 - 15 years per charge. Mid - Range would be 7 per charge and she plead to 4. 4 terms of say 5 years each would be 20 years. The youngest is 9 or 10 years old.

She will have to go to FAMILY COURT ( after prison) to see if she even has visitation. Again, this is CRIMINAL COURT. They are separate .

I hope she is never allowed to be around her children again until they are adults and it is up to them to decide. A forty some year old woman with 4 kids needs to take responsibility for her actions! Also, the husband should be held accountable. How sad for those children.

As much as I agree that not testifying against a parent is more beneficial to the kiddos at this time. In the long run, the kids won’t have as much time free from her in the future. As a survivor of severe sexual and physical abuse at the hands of the person who gave birth to me, 17 years seemed like a long time when the plea deal was offered. Now, I hate the fact that the defendant in my case only received less than half of what she could have received if we had gone to trial and I testified against her. It’s a catch 22 either way. My heart breaks for these kiddos and am also so glad the older kiddo was able to get away and save them both. Kudos to you buddy! You are a hero!

...or it means they offered her a deal in exchange for testifying against Jodi, who is, by far, the much bigger target, here. Jodi's history is long, and deeper than people think it is.

But I don't understand how you can be so angry as to harm your children, or any child, not once in a fit of rage, but repeatedly, systematically and sadistically. I watched the Shanda Vander Ark case and to me it looks like these children could have ended up dead, too. My heart breaks for all children that are tortured by their parents.

Few things I noticed…Ruby looks at her attorney with looks of anger, a hateful sort of look. She does not address the judge with “your honor.” Her parents clearly came back from their mission but it seems very recently as Ruby’s sisters continued to claim the parents were still on their mission a couple weeks ago. Meaning they didn’t come back for their grandchildren they came back for Ruby. Her sister Julie seems to flash a slight smile at Ruby as Ruby is leaving the courtroom. Does not seem that her sisters Bonnie nor Ellie were there. Ruby’s guilty admission is delivered with an angry look, she is not convinced she’s done anything wrong. There is no look or facial expressions of remorse or sadness only a look of anger.

When you read the statement of truth where Victim 1 & 2 were forced to do physical labor I thought of the 16 & 14 year old children doing “chores” for Pam Bodthner. When the police arrived, the girls were both barefoot although Pam and her husband were in shoes/appropriate footwear.
I feel like Pam is also involved in “punishing” Ruby’s children.
Even Jesse Hildebrandt spoke about Pam watching and reporting back to Jodi about behavior.
All three of these women are guilty and should be in prison.

I think it’s a very complicated situation for the family. If one of my sisters were charged I would probably show up because I would want to hear from her and the guilty plead…. However unless the family was told where to sit I wouldn’t have sat on her side, but that could be where they had to sit. I just hope the whole blame isn’t placed on Jodi - by Ruby and the family.

This makes me feel more fortunate than ever that I was adopted by two great parents and had such a blessed upbringing. I feel equally as sad for the kids in this case. I only hope they go on to live happy and healthy lives in the future.

Am I the only one thinking that it’s a bit gross for her to seem like she spent a lot of time and energy thinking about how to make her hair look good? I get that there’s a level of wanting to have some dignity and feel like yourself but seriously? Her kids were starved and bound. Same with Laurie daybell. Judge Walton IS NOT an easy judge especially when it comes to children. I am friends with 3 of the law partners he worked with. Judge Walton served as a Deputy Washington County Attorney. He was an associate with Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough probably the most highly regarded firm in St George, Ut. IMO this won’t be a cakewalk for Ruby. Most likely she would serve at Salt Lake or Gunnison both state prisons. Gunnison is a smaller maximum security so IMO it will be Salt Lake which is min-max.

If you think about it, it is rather hard for her to say, she didn't know about the malnutrition. Malnutrition doesn't happen overnight. It takes as little as 3 months and even less if they aren't eating at all.

This comes on the heels of Shanda Vander Ark, in Michigan, whose son was sadly a victim of malnutrition and hypothermia and didn't survive. I hope she gets the max!

Adam Steed was successful at getting Hildebrandt's license suspended. Unfortunately, that was all he got out of his case with her, where she was coaching his ex-wife to get him convicted of child and wife abuse and expelled from his Mormon school and church. After the board looked further into that case, they apologized to Steed for not taking him more seriously. The Mormon church backed Hildebrandt all the way, recommended couples to her, and were even involved in the boy scout child abuse case in which Steed as a child had to go thru. Double victim of abuse. Guess we can't bust the Mormon leaders to aid and abetted Hildebrandt. But we get her busted this time. Hopefully, she can never harm anyone else. Thank you for covering this - it is vital to take Hildebrandt out b4 she harms anyone else or possibly kills someone. There are so many quiet victims of abuse who never get any attention or rescue. We have to bust as many as we can.

So I was watching the Law and Crime Network interview of a lawyer in Utah. She said that the parole board, not the judge, will be determining the length of the sentence. She postulated that Ruby will only get 4 years sentence with 40% time served.

I hope the judge sentences her to the maximum for each count. So 60 years which if the good time is even 50% she’d still be over 70 years old when she gets out. I’d prefer that she is never allowed to be free again. These charges are heinous as is her actions towards her children so I would be satisfied if she is never free again.
The inmates in custody in the female unit I supervised used sugar water to hold curls in their hair. They were very good at improvisation when needed.

As a child that experienced some abuse and neglect, if it were 11 year old me, I would WANT to testify. It’s not for the comfort of the child, it’s for the adults’ comfort. These kids suffered for YEARS while the whole world watched. I would have wanted every adult to listen to my every word. And then I would have looked directly at the judge every time I recounted each time I asked for help. It’s not to save the children. It’s to hide our own guilt
She and Jodi tortured those poor babies! No way anyone could convince me to do any of these things to my children or to allow the other person to do them! Sooo wrong! 😡 This house was located in the desert…very close to Death Valley!
Accidentally said "what the f***" out loud about the part where she loves her children. All that she did to her children, before and after meeting Jodi, was not love.
I do believe she was influenced by jodi, but she allowed and was open to that influence. She wasnt ever a devoted mother, she was a dog lead by the bone. Jodi offered her the bone and Ruby took it willingly.
I’m just happy the children don’t have to be put on the stand and testify to these traumatic events.
My opinion of what I've heard is Ruby was bad b4 Hildebrandt, but I'm willing to let her plead because the person who has done so much more damage is Hildebrandt. She needs to be taken out. I credit Ruby for not making her children testify against her - the whole thing is a nightmare for those kids. They're likely to suffer complex PTSD the rest of their lives - suffering from that myself, I know it is difficult and heartbreaking. I hope Adam Steed will be able to heal better when Hildebrandt gets prison time. I feel so much for him and his family - he is a double victim, which is really awful.
I agree with everything you said, although I struggle to believe that Ruby pled guilty to spare her children. She seems sadistic and cruel when she comes to her kids. So I find it more likely she did it to spare herself the shame of all the evidence coming out and potentially more than we already know about through testimony

I work in a criminal division in AZ (Superior/Phoenix), and have worked in San Luis Obispo (CA)…this plea is so lenient compared to what we would see here in either of those Courts for the same thing (even with no priors). Apparently the Judges in Utah also don’t set the sentences - someone mentioned a board does this. Why would they use this method? AZ and CA are much more similar (though AZ has lower Courts). I really appreciate your great mind, thoughts, and explanations:). ❤

I was a victim of abuse by my mother and I just want to hug these babies and tell them how strong they are, that this is their hero backstory, and noone will hurt them like this ever again. I just want to hug and cry with them. Because I know how damaging this is. I want them to know they are not alone. These babies are so strong. My heart is with them as a fellow survivor of abuse and neglect
I hope these poor babies get far, far away from Ruby and Kevin. Kevin is not innocent or a good father. I pray they get all the love and therapy they deserve.
His lawyer has written as much BS for Rubie. In fact there is so much BS on both of their lawyers papers/statement are similar to used TP.
I can't imagine what she will say to her children.I am sure at one point both younger kids begged her for food and water.What will she say to that.

It’s usually very healing for victims to be able to state how their abuser affected them-- to their abuser directly.
I wonder if the children will get that chance.
This isnt just an abuser. This is their mother and they are both still small children.. there's no way any benefit of being able to "call her out" would outweigh the trauma of having to testify against their own mother.

I don’t know how parole works in Utah, but I hope however it works she does 6yr and whatever on parole. Before release for any parole, she needs a mental evaluation to determine if she might abuse her grandchildren as she will probably have some by then. I don’t want her abusing or starving babies or influencing her children in parenting.
The lawyer’s statement is tone deaf. He needed a lawyer with public relations understanding to help. Total disaster to me. And, it seems to Emily.
When i was on a jury in the uk a screen was put up so the victim could only see the judge and barristers is there no way this can be done in the US court?

Ruby was an abusive parent before Jodi came along. And she made millions on it. Ruby is a perpetrator and not a victim.
The kids are the victims and Kevin, Rudy and Jodi should not be allowed near children and animals ever again.
I can remember getting the cane as a 5th grader and laughed afterwards. We were interrogated as kids then given the old jug cord. If she was in a foul mood we were made to have a cold shower first. Back in the days where the kid was charged with neglect, and we would keep our mouths shut and could block pain. Trauma is for life
It is my opinion that she's not doing anything to protect her kids she plead to keep the kids off the stand I think the kids should be asked if they want to testify.
I cant believe her sisters showed up to support her.
I would fully hope my family (parents and older sister) would NOT support me in any shape, way, or form if i was arrested for abusing my children!!!
You'd think if her family actually supported her they'd get the children separated from her and get her some actual help before she ended up in the slammer!
Could be that they showed up because they wanted to hear her actually plead guilty. (I have no idea what the sisters are like, only found out about the YT channel when the videos of admitting abuse as if it was nothing started to get more attention).

Since Jodi's hearing is off the calendar now, what does that mean? Also, if they find Ruby to lie when testifying against Jodi, could the plea deal be taken away?

@@neurotoxicity Jodi is back on the schedule for next Wednesday. It was weird it wasn't there yesterday. In Ruby's plea, it was VERY specific she has to testify against Jodi and not lie. I think that will be hard for Ruby considering the circumstances and their weird relationship. If Ruby lies the plea deal can be dismissed and she'd be back in court.

I work in Child Welfare - I preface I am not trying to invalidate what these children have gone through, its horrible. However, I have seen so many children put through similar or worse and their parents don't even get charged. Then scream at us that we took their kids away and tore their family apart. I don't think it will ever fail to baffle me the ways some people feel entitled to treat their children. All children deserve parents, not all parents deserve kids. It's almost impossible to not become numb to what people like Ruby do when you see it lots. You'd lose your mind if you didn't. Nonetheless, it is unforgivable what she's done. I hope all her children find peace and healing.
Hi Emily, I would love if you would look into and talk about the Troubled Teen Industry. Hundred of thousands of kids have been abused on a daily basis by mainly Mormon ran facilities (similar methods to this case). I wish there was something legally I could do to get justice for the abuse I suffered but they legally cover their asses so well and hide their abuse very well.

Both Ruby and Jodie are both in the Purgatory Corrections Facility in Washington County and have been housed in different units.. They can not see each other nor are they allowed to communicate with each other..

Horrifying 😢 those poor kids. The litany of crimes here is really distressing. As a survivor of CA myself, I wanna hug these kids and say things will can and will get better, and I sincerely hope they get the peace, care and healing time they need and deserve 💖
I think the judge will sentence 5yrs per charge. At least I hope thats the minimum the judge will sentence and not just a year becuse that is disgusting.

She can wet braid or twist it for waves. An absurd priority for a woman with straight hair in custody for such charges, but it’s definitely doable.
