I love how Dr H can just smoothly talk about his personal experiences and transition back to the case. So fun to listen to
Dear Dr Kirk, in Poland we’re such huge fans of mushroom picking. It’s not an Asian thing, it’s an Asian/ European thing. We love it, musroom knowledge is passed from generation to generation. I love mushroom dishes, they’re devine. Give us a call if you ever visit Poland!:)❤
Very true😃
In my home state in Washington (which Dr. Honda is from too) mushroom picking a HUGE deal no matter what race or ethnic background.
Yeah, mushrooming is huge in Finland too.
A 3 hour video on this topic?!? Yes please!
That car crash story from Dr H has me feeling 10x more shocked and terrified/traumatized than the story of the murder of the Chef 😮😅
😅
Shiitake mushrooms are one the few mushrooms that are cultivatable, but they are not native to the US. I think the mushrooms you mean were sheep polypore, hedgehog mushroom, cep etc. that are native to America and only grow wild in nature (aka can not be cultivated) and are highly valued, large mushrooms.
P.s. Mushrooming is HUGE here in Finland. As a little kid I could identify dozens of mushrooms.
As a fellow Pacific Northwest resident, my guess is he meant chanterelles. Morels are also native to the region and are highly sought after, as well as quite expensive, so those would be my two best guesses!
@@ScarletteRasmussen Oh yeah. I actually thought of chanterelles at first too, because they're by far the most popular wild mushrooms to buy and sell here .. But they are not very big and they are very, very easy to distinguish from other mushrooms, so I thought maybe not?
I'm curious to know, Dr. Kirk, if you're aware of the Better Help case and the Federal Trade Commission charges gainst them. I see you still have ads from Better Help sponsoring the UA-cam channel, but I thought you surely wouldn't suggest them as a company, or even take money from them, if you knew of their sleaziness.
I’ve commented the same thing a few times, it really makes me uncomfortable especially since I respect Dr. Honda so much. I wonder if he’ll ever address all the problems with better help & why he supports them
@@angelaonly7983there is a video he made called is better help evil? Or something along those lines
Trigger warning for car accident details! Oh gosh, I need to get the time count, my trauma is activated I can’t think of the word, time stamp!
Oh I followed this case and I am so interested in your opinion! People who can lie as effortlessly as Nancy Brophy are such a mystery to me.
I know a few liars like this and they think they're such brilliant liars that people will buy everything they're selling. Behind their back others say "You know what X said again, bla bla..", but no one bothers to confront them until it's something big like a murder. So no wonder she thinks she can talk her way out of it.
I remember this case when it happened. It is definitely different than most murders.
I loved loved loved this episode!!! And 3 hours long! ❤😊
1:13:00 to 1:22:00 TRIGGER WARNING: Description of fatal car accident, skip if you have any trauma around this
I haven’t gotten to that part yet. How is that related to Nancy?
"Think of Me" is the name of the song... from my favorite Madonna album, her first ☺️
Happy that you have found more work-life balance 😊
Are you reacting to Imalexxx? Would be interesting
Kirk role playing how to get away with murder ... 🤭
Being a true crime buff, I wonder all the time about the idea that anyone can become a murderer. I really wish there was a literature review or bibliography of sources that researchers have used to come to such a conclusion. What assumptions have to be made to reach that conclusion? What theoretical frameworks are used to the analyze data compelling such a conclusion? Is it all based on theory and/or correlational data?
I thought the general (albeit simplistic) idea behind humanism is that all people are inherently good. That seems incompatible with the idea that all people are capable of murder… such a belief sounds more like a justification for the violence inherent in social systems. Like a way to justify war and state sanctioned violence. Makes me wonder if we’d come to the same conclusion, that all of us are capable of killing someone else with malice, if we weren’t living within social systems of privilege and oppression like racism, sexism, classism, etc. and if researchers were not products of said systems.
Omg I'm listening to the podcast
Sun roofs open while moon roofs dont.
Psychology is all self report. Correct? Even much of the brain chemistry theories.
Diagnosis for a lot of issues relies on an external specialist's observations of behavior, not only self reporting. Most people who are severely mentallg ill dont think they are ill at all.
