Batman doesn't usually get to retire and have a happy ending, but that last scene where Bruce gives Alfred the goodbye he always wanted and you see Selina is with him, she's actually wearing Bruce's mom's pearl necklace speaks volumes about how they both left that life behind for good.
Also, Alfred's apology to Bruce's parents is such a heart breaking moment. It was directed toward Thomas and Martha perfectly.

Yes. It was a very stupid ending. Batman isn't a selfish prick who retires.... unless it's the Batman Beyond years where he's physically too old and passes torch but in a sense Batman doesn't return or abandon Gotham.

@@scottiehargrove1453 That’s a terrible take. He did pass the torch to someone who is more capable than him because he’s already reaching that “old Bruce” state in this movie. He never would have been beaten by Bane if he was in the same condition as the previous movies. It might seem weird cause Bale doesn’t look old, but the movie makes it very clear that his body is breaking down.

Bruce fixes the autopilot after Lucius tells him it needs updating, you just don't know it until the reveal. So, as he was flying the bomb out he ejected at some point. But you can sense that the reveal is coming as he's left signs for everyone that knew he was Bruce Wayne, the repaired Bat Signal for Gordon, the Cave for Blake, the patch ID for Lucius, and then he intentionally fulfills Alfred's fantasy by going to the café at the end. Also, Bane was injured when saving Talia and the doctors in the prison did a terrible job healing him, leaving him in chronic pain, which is why he wears the mask.

When Selena Kyle tells Batman that he's given the people of Gotham everything and he responds with, " Not everything, not yet!", I still get shivers. nobody beats joker as the baddest badman in comicbook/superhero/supervillain history - but this man tom hardy turns ''BANE'' into a very close second as the villain - his performance in this film (with his full mouth covered with a steel mask ) deliveries some of the best/darkest lines in supervillain history - i know you're gonna love it so thumbs up in advance - ''you merely adopted the dark, i was born in it, molded by it'' . bane. peace.

He sounded like a drunk and flirtatious Gandalf. It rips me out of the film every time he speaks. It turns it into a comedy.
Batman Begins was boring and I found it very hard to sit through, The Dark Knight was excellent, except for the silly Bat-voice that makes me laugh every time and again, ruins that suspension of disbelief. The Dark Knight Rises was pretty good. Not close to perfect by any means, but still good.
Just my opinion. I know people disagree and that’s fine, but I’m not trying to be edgy or start a fight, so if you disagree, keep it civil please lol

Bane in this series was injured trying to save the girl born in hell, Talia. The doctor in prison developed a mask that constantly deliver painkiller so he could overcome the pain. That's why when Batman breaks the hose on it during the last fight Bane started to slow down, he was feeling the pain from his old injuries. In the comics, Bane's mask fed him a super steroid called Venom that gave him superhuman strength but in the movie The mask gave him drugs to mask his pain, so he could fight continuously without taking any injuries.

In the comic, Batman really did get beat up by Bane in their first meeting. Bane have broken into Arkham Asylum and freed most of Batman's enemies. Batman spend the entire night tracking them down and returning them to Arkham but he was tire as it was part of Bane's plan to tired him out. When Bane encountered Batman, Batman was to exhausted and Bane beat the crap out of him and broken his back. Forced to spend the next couple of months in a wheelchair, he asked Dick Grayson (aka Robin) to be Batman until he got better

When she escaped the hole she eventually found her father Ra's Al Ghul and convinced him to save Bane. Ra's Al Ghul trained Talia and Bane but were both kicked out of The League Of Shadows because Ra's Al Ghul couldn't accept Bane because he only saw a monster and his very existence was a constant reminder of the hell that he left his wife to die in and because Bane loved Talia..

It's my 2nd favorite behind 'The Dark Knight,' bc no one tops Ledger's Joker performance, although Tom Hardy's Bane comes pretty close.. I love how this version of Catwoman is never referred to as Catwoman, only as Selina Kyle, & they just kinda hint to it by showing her with the goggles on (that when up look like a set of ears), calling her a cat burglar & a newspaper calling her "The Cat." I also love the ending so much with that late reveal & the whole revelation with John Blake's character & his ark throughout the film. Keep killing it guys! Much love, Fam!❤

I’m glad to see you guys finish the trilogy. I really love this film. Of the three, this is my favorite out of the trilogy, which I know isn’t popular to say, but having watched this at the 2012 midnight premiere after seeing the first two in a marathon form at the theater I have a real appreciation for this film as I got to see the entire Bruce Wayne story unfold that Christopher Nolan and everyone involved told from beginning to end. Part of why Bruce has a cane in the beginning of this film is because at the end of The Dark Knight, he was limping when running from the police after he fell once he helped Gordon get his son to safety after getting him away from Harvey Dent. Christian Bale is still my favorite Bruce Wayne/Batman. I think he understood the character the best and has given the best performance out of everyone who’s played the character at this point. Returning cast of Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are great as is Cillian Murphy’s small cameo as Scarecrow. Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy are great as Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Bane. I like how they didn’t go the typical route to follow up the Joker like with a villain such as the Riddler. Bane is very intimidating, strong and smart. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard do a great job as well. I could go on about this film and the trilogy, but I’m glad to see you guys conclude this trilogy and I’m glad you guys liked it. I’ve always enjoyed seeing Bruce being able to step away from Batman and have someone else take the mantle of Gotham’s savior, it doesn’t happen much, so seeing him get a happy ending in one Batman series is nice. Have a great rest of your day and take care!

Something you may have missed is that towards the start of the film, Blake asks Gordon why he doesn’t want to know Batman’s true identity and Gordon replies:
“I know exactly who he was. He was the Batman”
After Bruce’s funeral, Blake says to Gordon that it’s unfair that no one who will ever know who saved the city, to which Gordon replies:
“They know who it was; it was the Batman.”
This makes Blake realise that Batman is a symbol and it’s unimportant who is under the mask.
Finally, Blake receives the coordinates of the Batcave and his entrance into it mirrors that of Bruce’s in Batman Begins. Right at the end he steps onto the platform and as it begins to rise “THE DARK KNIGHT RISES” flashes up, showing that Blake has become Batman.

While ago when the movie was coming out, I heard that there was going to be a scene where Bane and his mercenaries storm Blackgate and freeing all the inmates and while they was freeing the inmates, Bane came across a cell and he look inside and saw the Joker in a straight jacket. They stare at each other for a minute and Bane walked away continuing to free the inmates but left the Joker locked in his cell. Kinda hinting that Bane knew about the Joker and the things he did, realizing that he's a crazy loose cannon and he couldn't be trusted

I loved Ann Hathaway, Tom Hardy in their roles and the trilogy coming full circle. it would have been interesting if Heath Ledger didnt pass away if he would have returned as Joker for the movie. I think it was a fitting rap up giving Bruce a break and with someone that actually gets him, no secrets needed with her. I would've be interested in a Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Robyn movie with Christopher Nolan at the helm. Glad you guys liked the movies as well.

The thing about Robin is that the fans wanted Robin included. Christopher Nolan hated the idea of putting a child in tights with Batman. He wanted his Batman films to be real world possible. He didn't feel a 12 year old in tights would be able to realistically fight along side of Batman and survive. So, he made what he considered a realistic version of Robin, minus the colorful tights.

In regards to Bane and why he wears that mask/respirator, I found this on Google...
"After Bane helped Talia al Ghul escape from the Pit, he was attacked by prisoners. However, a doctor failed to treat him and left him in chronic pain. Out of gratitude for saving his daughter, Ra's al Ghul liberated Bane from the Pit and provided him with a crude prototype mask to numb his pain. The mask dispenses a type of anesthetic that keeps his pain just below the threshold so he can function."

Bane's mask in the film gasses him with constant medication to numb his pain from terrible medical care when he saved Talia. Because he feels no, or at least much less pain, he pushes his body to the absolute limits well past what we consider normal human tolerances. Which is why when Bruce jacked his mask up, he starts just cringing and aching, but he's also pissed as all hell, hence the punching through the pillar stone casing. At that point, the pain of the surgery is more than slamming his hand into concrete.

The Christopher Nolan Batman movies are fantastic from start to finish, and the third movie ties up the trilogy. It also leaves the possibility of another Robin/Nightwing movie or series down the road if they want to make it.
I hope that at some point you do the "Joker" movie with Joaquin Phoenix. It is not connected to any of the other Batman movies, but does take place in the same Batman comic book world. It is a stand-alone story about the Joker and is great because of its disturbing mood, plot, and visuals. Phoenix did an awesome job portraying the Joker and his descent into madness.
Another great Batman movie is "The Batman" with Robert Pattinson. It dives deeper into the "World's Greatest Detective" side of the Batman persona. It too has great visuals, is dark and moody, and some cool action. It's different, but just as good. Keep in mind that Robert Pattinson is playing a much younger Batman in that movie... One that has only been Batman for a very short time, like a year or two, just like the comic story it is based on.

Some info about the film and some Batman lore.
Bane can survive without the mask, but what the mask does, especially in comics infuses him with chemicals which makes him super strong.
When Bane broke Batman's back, is one of the most if not the number one iconic injury to Batman in the comics which they used for the film, in breaking his back.
Talia is Ra's Al Ghul's daugher. Ra's also has a second daughter called Nyssa.
The ending scenes at the end of the film, have been debated for years what the real true ending is. Before the Bat (batplane exploded), people have slowed down the footage to show something ejecting from the Bat, but it's not been 100% proven. But also Lucius was told the autopilot and eject were fixed by Bruce, which again leads to the possibility Bruce ejected before the bomb went off, but again still unproven. Alfreds view of when Alfred was in Italy. is again something people have debated about, and questioned was it Alfred dreaming or imagining or he really did see Bruce and Selina in Italy. Whcih is why the ending of the film is very open as to whether Bruce/Batman truly died or not.
This was the last film of the series. Christopher Nolan always was leaving it as a 3 film trilogy.
The Joker film is in a different timeline and different universe, so not connected to Nolan's trilogy and Joker is not connected to the current DC universe at this point, but DC universe is undergoing a lot of changes and reboots.
As to your comments on Heath Ledger (RIP) in the 2nd film. A lot of people consider his performance outshone Bales' performance as Batman. But as to Ledger's Joker, vs Nicholson's Joker, vs Phoenix's Joker, are all different continuities and different versions of the Joker, but are also all correct. Phoenix's Joker in the Joker film, uses an alias name of Arthur Fleck which had not been used in the Michael Keaton Batman film, or the Christopher Nolan films. The Joker's real name has always changed and been questioned as to who he really is. Some people have considered the Joker was actually the man who killed Bruce Wayne's parents as well, but that like I said is just one continuity. But as to why Ledger and Nicholson's Joker are both accuate, over the years since 1940 when the Joker was created, depending on who the writer of the comic was at any given time, and what year it was. The Joker has changed, and at times been like the comical Nicholson Joker, to the Ledger Joker which was as he suggests in the film nothing is planned, but if you go back and watch it, everything Ledger's Joker did was planned, which to me one of the worst versions of Joker you could come across, due to being widlly unpredictable but with a plan nonetheless. Other versions of Joker have also just been completely funny/comical. If you go back to the 1960's Batman TV series with Cesar Romero Joker. Again a very different style of Joker again. But then the 1960s Batman tv show was very camp, not that is a bad thing by any means.
As to which Joker is the best out of Nicholson vs Ledger. Honestly neither is better, they're just two different versions based on the writers perspective at that time.
Anyway hope that fills in some blanks for you two lovely people. Love your content Asia and BJ, and Asia your laugh continues to be fantastic.

The prison doctors messed up on Bane's treatment. The guy who helped repair Bruce in the cave told him that the mask keeps the pain at bay. So, Bane wears the mask and feels 0 pain. So that's why he could take Batman's hits with no problem, because he didn't feel pain. If you notice when the fought during the war in the daytime, when Batman hit Bane's mask and damaged it, Bane reacted in pain.

I am a big Batman fan. But I haven’t really gotten any comic books since I was an early teen. And that was the 90s. The issue is up until now, if you’ve read those, you know exactly what’s going to happen. There was nothing that happened in this movie that I didn’t know was coming from the trailers. It’s a well made movie. I wish we got to see more Batman doing Batman stuff in his prime. I guess the “real-world” part of this series says doing just the couple things we’ve seen in Begins & TDK would be as much as anyone can handle before breaking down. That said, the “reality” has stretched more and more as the series went on. Ex: you don’t punch a vertebra back into place then just start exercising. I’m critical b/c I care.
