UA-cam’s main demographic is people who are looking for entertainment. People like you and me find this kind of content as entertaining as it is educational, but we are a minority in that respect. TRF is one of those UA-camrs who may not be at the top of the list, but is at the top of each and every one of his subscribers’ personal lists, mine included.
I have never caught a fish on a chatterbait, until today. I watched your video yesterday, watching again today, and man... i caught three fish just slowly moving that chatterbait along the bottom just feeling that vibration. Thank you for sharing your tips.
Me and my buddies watch you all the time and try to use a lot of things you say and show us . Your amazing and we’ve caught some Monsters with literally your word telling us how to. Much love keep doing it !
I have utilized the chatterbait for about 4-6 weeks now and I coincidentally have a black and blue, blue gill type and a white chartreuse. The black and blue has helped me catch 1-5 fish each time I tie it on. They have been very productive for me down here in Texas. I feel I have to mention that I use the Zman brand and I don't buy the Zman jack hammer style that's $15-20. I need budget friendly during these hard times, so I just get the 1st edition or standard for $4-5. The more expensive lures do have benefits like extra wire bait holder, painted blades and stronger hook type but some things I do to maintain my less expensive lures is hone the hook before each time I begin to use it, take permanent marker to color the blades and last but not least a very small dab of super glue at the bait holder to help it stay on. I have used those same chatterbait for those 4-6 weeks. Sorry for the lengthily comment Tyler but I thought it may help new users so they don't get sticker shock when they look into buying some.
I agree with you. It's hard enough to lose a 4-5$ one much less a 15-20$ one. Shore fishing doesn't help the matter. Lost one last year and decided to almost give up on them. I'm going to give them another shot after watching videos with good tips. Thanks for your tips and good fishing to you my friend!!
Its insane how young you are and how information literally just pours out of you. You are a good teacher. You have the knowledge and legitimately like to give that gift to others. Great stuff TRF!!
I caught my pb on a chatterbait this morning after fixing my baitcaster after a couple months! Also caught my first bass on a mini chatterbait. Love those things
I love Chatterbaits. I caught a 2.45 and a 3 pound largemouth this week on a The Original black and red skirt with a white fluke trailer in the afternoon here in Arizona. It was awesome! Thanks for the video!
Went fishing in colorado today. Our bass here are lackluster unless you're fishing near the southern border. Totally boring day, stained water, clear weather, but we werent catching anything except a baby largemouth and a few blue gills, despite fishing top water all morning while watching them top feed on bugs and schools of baitfish. Just when all hope seemed lost, I decided if anything was gonna catch them it needed to make a racket. Busted out my white Jackhammer and trolled it near some vegetation. Caught two 3-3.5 pound largemouth right around 1 PM, which are very nice bass by colorado standards. It was the first time I fished the jackhammer but you can certainly tell it makes a thump going through the water.
Only been fishing for a couple years up North in PA and I must say you and your videos have helped me really start to up my game 150%. Truly appreciate you and your content ❤ keep up the good work!
Thanks for the Chatterbait tips! I have a couple follow up questions: 1) You mentioned Medium rod, but what about action? Fast? Extra Fast? 2) For those of us who only carry around 2-3 rods, let's say I rig up a 7-3 Medium Rod with 40-50lb Braid....what other lure types could I comfortable cast on that same set up?
I’ve had great success lately with this rig. 3 to 6 foot depth in less than 2 foot water clarity. Early morning has had the best results before the Texas heat sets in. Lovin’ this lure right now👍.
The ChatterBait is a favorite of mine. I got my biggest bass on the strike king rage blade. I lost my last rage blade two weeks ago before it got cold here in Illinois, my line was sliced by a rough spot on my eyelets after the bass jumped. Now I can't find rage blades anywhere near me. Keep up the awesome content, great video!
I watched a bunch of how to chatter bait videos, this was by far the most informative. It also kinda helped that you were catching fish as you were giving the tips.
Yes! Too many tip videos with someone just talking to the camera. That's what I love about Tyler's vids, he talks to you and demonstrates while doing so.
Well, Tyler, I tried my first thunder cricket today. And caught a nice big 3 1/2 pound 21 inch bass. Thanks for the tips. You are the only bass show that my wife lets me watch with her in the room. I appreciate all of your tips and you have taught me so much.
I’m a west central Illinois pond angler, and the chatterbait is by far my biggest confidence bait. Doesn’t matter what size, what color, what clarity, what conditions. If I go fishing with a chatterbait I know I’ll catch a fish and often catch ten or more.
I caught a couple nice ones vertical jigging a chatter bait in front of storm drains a couple weeks ago. It was super hot, no clouds, they weren't roaming so they were tucked up under the concrete drains.
I can see the value to both sides here. Honestly IMO (just mine probably not what most feel) I prefer the public lake videos. This video almost felt like the fish were so plentiful you couldn't really get into detail in each retrieve because bass were coming out of the woodwork to eat that thing. I think some fish catching during explanation but some just full "unsuccessful" casts make for the best videos. Congrats though on picking up a sponsor though, certainly not going to be bitter about anybody's success in that regard.
I got the thunder cricket as well I love it but no catches yet all of my catches has been with a football jig rage craws yums and zoom flukes I love those
Hey Tyler been watching all your videos I just picked up a chatter bait an watch this video tried your techniques an I caught a 3 pounder on it thank you an keep up the great work

15# line is right on the money...running 15# sunline assassin myself. likewise, medium action rod pairs well with 3/8oz...but 1/2oz i find myself favoring medium+ fast action or reg-fast. i must mention though...you basically nailed it with all the how-to content in this vid. nice job on dissecting how to fish a chatterbait.

Been watching your channel for a lil while now and have learned a lot but I has a question last week I went fishing and was struggling on this day I tried everything in my box then noticed an inline spinner tied it on and two cast in I caught about a 5lbs large mouth so did I get lucky or is there maybe something to it
I've actually caught more with running them more towards the top rather than along the bottom. 🤷🏽♂️ everywhere is different though. I did however just get one of the clear blade jackhammers in black and blue and it's definitely gotten more bites than the OGs
Good stuff! I'm going to give some of these tips a try. I catch fish on them but I do better with other presentations. I guess we'll see if it makes any difference.

Hey Tyler, love your videos man. So informative and really entertaining. I'm building my confidence on the chatterbait, just caught my first two bass using it recently. What weight chatterbait do you recommend? I'm usually fishing from shore in shallow water. Thanks
Mini max is one of the best chatterbaits of all time, it’s a downsized size for a smaller presence in the water and catches more fish… definitely worth the $10.
Hey tyler, I live by a pretty small lake in Texas about 250 acres. It’s heavily fished especially from the bank. It’s a really weird lake. Fish don’t hit your lure. They all typically just pick it up and swim with it. They aren’t aggressive at all. If you power fish you won’t can’t anything all day. You have to finesse fish. This summer I’ve been using strike king z-too ice and getting a lot of fish. Even a 6.8 a week ago. It’s been in the 50’s the past 4-5 nights so the fish aren’t biting. Ive fished everywhere on the lake and can’t get anything. I’ve tried to use more reaction type lures like you talk about in your fall transition video but I’ve yet to get a bite on a chatter bait, spinner bait, crank baits. What do you recommend for this fall transition on a lake where the fish only like slow finesse?
Can you do a video on the spinnerbait versus the chatterbait? I have a ton of confidence in the spinnerbait and used to get stuff on a chatterbait. I usually default to spinnerbaits but don’t know if I am missing potential fish with leaving the chatterbait on the deck
@@TylersReelFishing you are a fantastic angler and ambassador to the sport. Please don't let the negative comments bug you. Great video and awesome tips!

Is a medium heavy 7 foot baitcaster good?
For lots of things. For a chatterbait? You CAN, but I’d find a better one with a more moderate blank
Picasso shock blades r legit...i use them over the z mans..the shock blade pro is even better
So a medium power is best for cranking spinner baits and chatter baits?
I throw a MH for spinnerbaits
@@TylersReelFishing oh ok
Using a little slower, softer rod is definitely a thing when using braid with "moving " baits
Yes, it is
Love your videos
Hey Tyler. Looking get a new baitcaster an a new rod. Any suggestions would help me out alot. Like name brands an so forth. Thanks
Howdy! Get you a Mach combo, lots of really good stuff we make in that line
Lol I feel at home with that intro
Berkley slobber knocker is really great but expensive
Can you do a video on the spinnerbait versus the chatterbait? I have a ton of confidence in the spinnerbait and used to get stuff on a chatterbait. I usually default to spinnerbaits but don’t know if I am missing potential fish with leaving the chatterbait on the deck
