The Meseta the mental phase of the Camino Frances and in the month of August with temperatures of 40C it's a greater challenge as you feel as if you have walked into another country from the greenness of the Pyrenees and the Rioja. The vast open spaces is a time to welcome contemplation, calming the mind and the spirit clearing our head and leave room for our mind to wonder and then to focus again

I felt Castilla Y Leon was less enjoyable than Navara and LaRioja at the time I was walking it just over a year ago. Upon reflection now I think I enjoyed it just as much but for different reasons . I'll continue my Camino in May from Astorga and hopefully complete it this year
Yes it's one of the reasons why so many people skip that part and catch a bus from Burgos to Leon to skip the boring Meseta. For me it created such a contrast between the start from SJPDP and the final leg in Galicia that truly makes the Camino Frances quite unique. Buen Camino on your final leg as for me I will return to Spain in March and walk four Caminos in cooler conditions
Hey Joe We finished our Camino in May 2023. Loved reliving it through your videos. But your commentary style is familiar. I am wondering if you have narrated any naturalist videos for tv in Australia? I feel like I have heard you somewhere. I too am a 70 year old Aussie.
