Well there's a problem with that physics is Dick's Dick's if you think well why don't the drone just pick him up well the drone can't if it tried it would fail due to it's not strong enough people are heavy you know that's a tiny drone it can barely lift itself lift itself and it's equipment you would have to need something really strong to do that it would actually have to be big too big to carry or for to take them to the hospital so
@Condor44 just imagine a drone coming and somehow lifting you up hundreds of feet in the air so now your forced to chill and watch the drone fly you to the hospital. 🤣

VeNuS2910 not if they make the components from aluminum foil, you know how they make fun of people putting foil hats in there heads, well as a matter of fact it works, because foil hats block the hacking frequencies, so Iif they make the hardware from aluminum foil they can't be hack, all processors and chips should be made of aluminum foil, and also the drones need to be super intelligent to even have facial recognition before delivering pizza, and the pizza delivery can be finally approved by someone in Pizza place by confirming the identify once seen in the camera. Do I make myself clear how to avoid that problem?
And I like women that give me blowjobs, because Satan who is copy inside there brains and systems makes human cells Think that is nasty only because Santiago(Satan) was program to be like me, so he thinks like me because of his programming, that is why women think like men because he is copy inside of them with the fake idea that he would of been able to control them all for him, but it was a fake idea that evil created to manipulate him and expand.
VeNuS2910 they can also make the drone intelligent, so he can avoid situations which they could hijack him, for example deliver the pizza near the door, and then leave, but making sure someone picked up the pizza, and also have a pepper spray bottle integrated, so the drone can pepper spray the person who wants to steal it. They could also used that idea to stop criminals, as drones can follow them quickly and pepper spray them, and even shoot them with paint balls when they are running. And also they can use many drones in the border, with pepper spray like this, and used them with many cameras 360 view all around in the border, to protect the border, and also pepper spray them to stop them, and they should be hable to have cameras that can see if they have weapons, to scan them and see all there bodies for security purposes, but the body scan should only be seen by the drone, not if a border patrol is watching them, they can have that extra camera only for the drone, while all the other cameras be used and be also seen by the border patrol agents.
This is genius but clearly made by an engineer and without consultation of a medical professional. This is a flying AED. These can be found on the wall of any public building. Worldwide studies have showed that good chest compressions are the most important thing for survival in cardiac arrest. Often there is no shockable rhythm in cardiac arrest anyway. So then what ? A Paramedic can get an advanced airway, take over compressions from whoever SHOULD be doing them on scene, shock if necessary and give IV medications. This is not the same as just shocks. Alas, it's not even close. What is needed is CPR classes for all.
And the person on the other end can detect that, and tell them such. The important part is that it's not just an AED but it's a person on the other end.
Hey TU delft. Dit is echt fantastisch wat er nu weer is uitgevoerd door jullie studenten. Ik denk dat jullie de beste (technische) universiteit zijn van ons land. Ga zo door
This idea is very cool the best part is that it can get there faster because a ambulance can get stuck in traffic but with this drone it can go over almost anything to get there keep improving this more this will really help lives
That would only work if the patient had ventricular fibrillation. If it's cardiac arrest, you need CPR to "transform" it to a ventricular fibrillation. Have been in a First Aid course (including training of CPR and use of an automated external defibrillator), where they told this.
Not sure about other places in the world but in the majority of Europe you are taught first aid at a young age and refreshed throughout school, then most jobs require you to go on a first aid course as well.
Well, that is true, maybe through the phone call or the speakers in the drone the doctor/911 guy could tell the person how to do it before applying the AED.
Please do all like that comment, because he is absolutely right! The drone makes no sense if he has a cardiac arrest and added to that, the "shocking" itself does not help all the time. Often, medics have to inject adrenalin for example to get the heart beating again. It is a great invention but not fully thought through!
WHAT A FABULOUSLY ENGINEED & INSPIRING IDEA ! Do not listen to half the idiotic replies on here, do not be deterred. Sure there are lots of things to consider with a potentially lifesaving device, buildings access, range, security etc . . but rarely in life is something worthwhile, easy to do. Continue to develop it, push it, communicate it, there are 99 positive reasons for every 1 backward thinking negative reason. Well done to you, you are FANTASTIC ! !
BringerOfD One device could cover a larger geographic area. At least, I think a mobile AED is cost-effective. But in order to save a life, we still need bystander CPR, and high-quality CPR.
Yiqun Lin Well, we can't just shock 'em and put their stocks back on. I think another good method is to mandate CPR and basic first aid in school. I think a few European countries are doing this, I'm a bit ashamed to say Canada isn't. I know the United States doesn't.
Lewis thats fair, i suppose if it happened out on a hiking trail or park or something this would be really useful. That said then that just makes this commercial a marketing failure
When the technology used for good reasons like saving the life of a human,,then we have succed the best thing we can do about humanity,!!!!!Amazing job guys!!!!
Pros.. 1.quicker than traffic 2.public awareness and knowledge of not being able to use a defibriator. 3.quick response. Cons. 1.Weather 2. Theft 3.malfunction in mid air 4.supermarkets ect already have these in place so response from medically trained staff would be even quicker 5.hackers 6.cost 7.Whos paying for these..tax payers? Comment below if you agree or disagree.
Sam Tay74 the tax system here is very different. This could be a great back up solution for emergencies like anaphylactic shock or even a heart attack. I don’t think the tech is mature yet but I don’t see how theft would be an issue as a simple tracker would be enough to stop that. Hacking could also be prevented with a drone which gets its flight data at the medical facility then flies autonomously. It’s not something I’d call reliable yet, but it’s a very promising concept with the possibility to negate most cons you’ve listed
You fan scrap nearly every one, theft = a tracker and noisy alarm, no thief woud take it, last 3 in The Netherlands arent a real problem, weather only, but I think its possible to make them nearly all weather proof
First up it won't be replace anyone. The patient still has to go to a hospital for further treatment and will therefor need an ambulance. Next up weather. In Germany we use drones to locate wildfires in big areas or coordinate tactical units with it. They can fly under all weather conditions. The only problem will be wind but an experienced pilot can manage that. The next is theft. Yes this could be a problem but solutions have already been named. Big advantage of such drones will be qualified assistance in a short time. And it can avoid probably the need of an ambulance if it's just a blind alarm or misunderstanding. Also it can bring in a live feed from the emergency site and the dispatchers can see if there is anything more needed for example an additional ambulance or heavy equipment for the rescue of a trapped victim or just a police car for a smaller MVA.

Awesome video. Of course, an AED would have been quicker to deploy than a drone. I think the video would have been better if you showed the gentleman collapsing in an area that was somewhat more remote; where an AED would not be available and timely emergency care would be more difficult to attain. Even rural areas are getting online to the Internet, so a 211 (or 911) emergency call would still be possible and the operator could dispatch the nearest ambulance drone to help the good samaritan assess the patient's condition and affect care like in your video. Still, an awesome video showing the potential for the technology to save lives.
Agreed, every school in America has at least one AED on site and every major business building has one per floor. Given that I live near the mountains, It would be great if they could just fly a drone up to where I am by locking on to my smart phone's GPS signal and coming to me. That would help climbers, hikers, skiers, and mountaineers in general immensely.
dorfone most of the devices I have seen talk you through it, with sound, diagrams and images where each pad goes. not to mention it telling you when to stand clear. as for key I'm sure you will find a way to open it.
Hal Staniloff Our town of about 1000 people has one AED, dead center town, in the arena. It's closed half the year, and is only accessible within one minute from about 4 or 5 other buildings (allowing the other minute to get back to the victim). Should that AED be replaced by an automated drone station on the roof, it would extend coverage of AED to the whole town, and make it accessible year round. So while such a unit may not be useful in downtown (insert massive city here), most smaller towns would benefit greatly from it.
I have to say God bless you guys. I am very impressed, very good job. I am a Drone pilot. I have flown the Reaper and the Phantoms to destroy never to save. I applaud you guys. God Bless you in saving lives.
What Would Happen? You know high tech insanely smart drones only cost about $1000? Theyh have obstacle avoidance, 4k cameras, gimbals, 4 mile range, return to home, tapfly, and everything inbetween and beyond. It's not that bad of a dream. Just Google DJI mavic pro or DJI Phantom 4.

What is needed is CPR classes for all.
exactly
this is made by a student of the technical university of delft (delft is in mu country it was in the news) but only the idea and model
it is a school project.
And the person on the other end can detect that, and tell them such. The important part is that it's not just an AED but it's a person on the other end.
True
Hey TU delft. Dit is echt fantastisch wat er nu weer is uitgevoerd door jullie studenten. Ik denk dat jullie de beste (technische) universiteit zijn van ons land. Ga zo door
nice
When you’re dads having a heart atack you’re panicking
+Daniels30 we don't in England
yes it is very good
because it is the best thing every
Well, that is true, maybe through the phone call or the speakers in the drone the doctor/911 guy could tell the person how to do it before applying the AED.
Please do all like that comment, because he is absolutely right! The drone makes no sense if he has a cardiac arrest and added to that, the "shocking" itself does not help all the time. Often, medics have to inject adrenalin for example to get the heart beating again.
It is a great invention but not fully thought through!

Great Idea Great Drone 👍

Sounds like a good first responder useful for when ambulances are far away or unavailable I like the concept.
NICE IDEA.... would really help us in the days we are in
Recker yeah your right

Basically a flying Defibrillator, cool. I think this would help out a lot in future calls.
this is cool and all but, really i see no advantage from this and simply requiring that public places have an AED available.
What if you are in de dunes, or some place else where they don't have an AED. Then you would be gracefull to these drone I guess...
BringerOfD Not all heart attacks are in public places.

Hurry up and put those to use! Lives need to be saved
Pros..
1.quicker than traffic
2.public awareness and knowledge of not being able to use a defibriator.
3.quick response.
Cons.
1.Weather
2. Theft
3.malfunction in mid air
4.supermarkets ect already have these in place so response from medically trained staff would be even quicker
5.hackers
6.cost
7.Whos paying for these..tax payers?
And 8: job takers.
8. GPS malfunctions
Cool idea. Love the design of it, too. Very sleek!
America be like: lets put weapons on drones, The Netherlands be like: lets save lives.
The Netherlands be like: Let's make America fight our wars.
@@jamesklark6562 and what wars are America fighting for the Netherlands exactly?

The Netherlands literally has barely any military and are protected under NATO with the United States taking the lead both materially and financially, heavily outweighing the Netherlands' military effort by a large margin in Man Power, Land Power, Air Power, and Sea Power. So you tell me, if one nation is willing to place the burden war on another nation for the sake of sustaining financial interests while they lollygag and play tea-party then are they any less innocent?
@@jamesklark6562 The only war where the Netherlands was invaded and the US helped was WW2. All the other wars you mentioned were either started by the US or the US willfully choose to fight in them. Just because the US loves consist war doesn't mean the Netherlands is responsible for helping pay for it. The Netherlands likes to spend money on its own citizens not on pointless war like America does.
Netherlands is smart not to waste it citizens money on Americas wars.
@@lithium25693 You do realize those same wars are what allows the Netherlands and other such countries to protect their self interests, right? Without those wars the Netherlands struggle for material and political gain, exactly where do you think they get all these resources for the development of tech?
My middle school has an AED in the main office.
stampycatfan01 But does anybody know how to use it and is it always available or only when somebody is around with a key?
dorfone most of the devices I have seen talk you through it, with sound, diagrams and images where each pad goes. not to mention it telling you when to stand clear. as for key I'm sure you will find a way to open it.

Mary Sansone Look 50 seconds into the video and you will see people administering CPR as the girl is running in with the drone.
Lynne VanArsdale CPR is not as effective and ive done it before belive me.
Jose every 10 seconds with no CPR goes 10% of survival chance... The drone could also deliver some adrenaline, amiodarone, an AMBU... that would be great

Sahil Mansoori what is your point
What's even the point of this when most places already have an emergency defib?
thats probably why its not a thing yet
I could see it getting used though in countries with poor infrastructures or in very rural areas
But I admit to use it in urban area wouldn't be effective
AEDs are not inexpensive and not readily available even in urban areas in many countries.

You could simply do what the USA does and place portable defibrillator stations in commercial buildings that have simple instructions anyone can understand...
