I’ve been buying the supersaver tickets since we arrived in Switzerland & having a half fare card really help to save money.
Suppose the original Supersaver ticket price from one point to another cost CHF30. But by having half fare card the price would be CHF15? not sure my understanding is correct.

Is a Saver Day Pass worth it if we plan to ride Bernina Express & Tarino to Chur, and then Zurich where will be staying? Anyways a BE ticket costs about 60-70 if buy alone. What do you recommend to buy for a 4-5 day stay in Switzerland and taking trains to other cities or villages?

Yes, saver day pass is valid on panoramic expresses but you can't skip reservation fee

Hi, thanks for all the great tips in Switzerland. I have a question about the Saver Day Pass. Yesterday, I purchased the Saver Day Pass with the reservation for the Bernina Express. Today, I added another trip for the same day on the Glacier Express. I was charged for another Saver Day Pass. Please explain to me why I had to pay twice for the Saver Day Pass for the same day and not just pay for only the reservation seat instead? Were these purchased correct, or do I have to get a refund for one of the Save Day Passes? Thanks.

I’d like to know what happens if we miss the transfer at Bern or Interlaken ost station ( only 6-7 minutes to transfer to another train at another platform) when we buy the super saver tickets on the way to Grindelwald from Munich. Hi there! If you have a saver day pass you’re set for the whole day. If you bought a super saver ticket for a specific train and you miss it, unfortunately you’ll need to book a new ticket. The downside of these cheaper fares is the loss of flexibility

I purchased my ticket via trainline app, departing at 11:00am from Zurich to Zermatt and have 6 minutes to change train in Visp. My ticket is saver day pass.
My question is, what happens if I miss the connection since I have 6 minutes to change, is my ticket still valid for the next train?

Hello, I bought the saver day pass on the SBB website for me and my family. But two of the tickets have the wrong day of birth. The month and year are correct. Will this give me problems using the ticket in Switzerland or is there a way to modify those dates of birth in the ticket reservation? What do they request on trains to use the saver day pass?

Hi can I use the Saver Day Pass on Glacier express? It shows 52€, if I purchase one ticket in 2 months in advance without the half fare discount card! Now, I learned I have to pay for seat reserevation too. Which is an extra15- 20€. How do I reserve the seat. I don't see any option in any sites. Please suggest.

Yes! the ticket includes glacier express, Bernina express, etc but you’ll still need to go on their websites to reserve your seat

With the Swiss saver day pass, I assume I will just need to buy a separate point to point Austria ticket to get me to the Swiss border, stay on the same train, then show the saver day pass to the conductor once we cross over into Switzerland?

You would need another ticket unfortunately! So if you aren’t sure you can make the time these aren’t the best option!

Hi Alex. Do I need a activated half fare card during purchase. Or I can purchase with reduced price with half fare option first without having activated half fare card , then the half fare card is just activated during travel.

Can you access your tickets on the app without wifi to show control? WIll they accept screen shot if there's no wifi?
They will accept a screenshot, you can add them to your apple wallet directly from the app as well, they just need to be able to scan the QR code on the ticket

I had the same problem with our date of birth, and I know for sure that I typed them correctly. I think they have a problem with the app. I will keep my the way it is, I found out that this is a common problem, and normally, they do not check the birth dates on the train, hopefully.

I have 2 questions regarding train ticket, when I arrive to Zurich airport and want to buy a ticket from airport to my hotel, I have seen on SBB there is no direct train that goes to the area where the hotel is located, rather we need to change from one to another, so when changing train, does that mean I have to buy 2 tickets for each one, the 2ed question is same but when traveling between cities and we are changing trains, lets say from Zurich to Interlaken and need to change trains when we reach Luzerne to go to Interlaken, in this case do we have to buy 2 tickets for each stope. You only need one ticket even if you change trains, the ticket will be a point to point validity (where you start to where you end regardless of how you get there)

Hi Alex, I hope you can help me with my question, I bought in advance a super saver ticket from Basel to Ausserberg on the website and any card pass was required and I just paid 30€ today I finally took the train but unfortunately the controller in a very rude way ask me to buy a new one with the day rate as I didn't have any swisspass to get the half discount, I tried to explain that I've booked it online and any swisspass was requested, I was very sad to being the trip this way, is the controller right? Hi Brenda - when buying the supersaver ticket, did you buy the full fare? If you purchased the half fare supersaver ticket, you'll also need the half fare card to be eligible to use that ticket. Whenever you buy tickets on the SBB app you have the option of the full price or the 1/2 fare. You can only use the half fare tickets if you ALSO have a valid half fare card.

Hello Guys. I need to buy 3 tickets to travel from Zurich HB to Interlaken, and then from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and viceversa to return on the same day. I am a little confused about the best and cheap tickets to buy to do this trip. If I buy a ticket with a Saver Day Pass option selected it means that I can use any train to travel for example from Zurich to Interlaken and viceversa on that day? And don't need any other kind of ticket or half fare travelcard right? Something curios is that I am checking options 2 months in advance and show me an option of Supersaver ticket but increases the price a lot, why is that? Also a question, with this ticket from Zurich HB to Lauterbrunnen and viceversa can I use the trains in Zurich to go from my hotel to Zurich HB and return to my hotel on that same day? Thanks.

Can I buy a saver day pass without a half fare pass?
You can! Just make sure you select the full price option for it vs the 1/2 fare option. It’ll usually be around 80CHF without a half fare card
