    I’m still financially recovering from my trip to Zurich and I live in London! Very clean, very organised, very nice people in general, but now that I’ve been, I won’t repeat. You’re right about taxis.

    2:42 Also take a look at the 9 Uhr pass - it's 24 Franks and valid from 9 am in the whole zvv region.

    1. You can enter any COOP (they are almost everywhere in Zurich) and use the restroom for free.
    2. The SBB tourist help centre at Zurich HB station accepts euros if you purchase any train tickets etc and return the change in CHF. They provide excellent exchange rate.

    • @mySalerno
      @mySalerno 5 місяців тому

      I doubt that there is any coop that has a public toilet.
      Except for the really big ones maybe like coop city that are more like a shopping mall. The normal grocery store like coops don’t have toilets for sure.

    • @nomadicsoul2242
      @nomadicsoul2242 5 місяців тому

      @@mySalerno The Coop outlets I came across in Zurich had a toilet for visitors/customers to use for free (I am not talking about public paid toilets). I haven't visited every Coop in the city, but I suppose there would be plenty of big Coop outlets in Zurich.

    • @MikeGledhill
      @MikeGledhill 3 місяці тому

      @@nomadicsoul2242 Most Coops don't have a public toilet, but the larger Coop City stores have a Coop Restaurant, and these will have a toilet.
      Or, plan ahead, and use the free toilets on the trains.
      The exchange rate at Zurich HB is dreadful. I tested it once, and I got 10% more cash by using my Wise or Revalut card in a cash machine. They do the exchange rates for you, and you get a MUCH better rate, with no fees (unless it's a dodgy cash machine in, say, a convenience store)
      Remember that Zurich HB has a large Coop and Migros supermarket, and these sell food/drinks at regular prices, rather than touristy prices.
      And one last vital tip: everything is expensive in Switzerland... except for electronics. As a Brit, living in Switzerland, I can visit the UK, buy electronics there and claim the 20% tax back. Yet most electronics are still cheaper by buying them in Switzerland. Check out InterDiscount, digitec (online) and MediaMarkt for prices.

    Just finished our eight days in Switzerland and thank you for all the info I gleaned from watching your videos. Todays #1 tip though I wish I had known. We took the train in from Chur to Zurich for the last night before our flight - wasted time and $$ by having to pay to transport to the hotel (15 Swiss each way) and back to the airport in the morning… We should have just stayed in the AirB&B we had, and then taken the train straight to the airport. Oh vell!! Lesson learned!

    I had a look at the Swiss card and it looked really good, but then my friend looked up the actual train prices and I was amazed how cheap they are compared to UK trains. Definitely cheaper to just pay the full train price than get a Swiss card for us.

    Thanks for a great informative video. I'm planning on coming to CHE in September but I'm flying into ZRH and staying in ZRH for 2 nights at the beginning of the trip and then at the end of trip. I want to rent a car for a day and drive to Lichtenstein and Austria (day trip) and give back the car before the end of the night. I was going to pick up the car the night before and the hotel room (which is near the airport) has parking. Would this be feasible? Then the last 2 days of the trip, I can stay within the city and enjoy old town and other areas. Should I get the Zurich Card for just the last 2 days of the trip and should i get the 72 hour card? Thank you for all your videos, i've been going through all of them and enjoying them all.

    Thanks for this video! We have friends visiting us in Zürich for a day from Germany with their dog. We plan to have them leave their car at our hotel for the day. Where would we purchase the 24 hour transportation tickets and a transportation ticket for their dog? We would like to take them on a boat trip on the Zürich river. Would the transportation cards cover them and their dog on the boat trip?

    What are some good traditional hotels in Lauterbrunnen and Grendlewald? And what is the name of the train stations we should be getting on?

    Hi, I am traveling with me (very elderly) mom and we can't walk for hours or do any trekking or anything like that. So scenery it's very important, I will rent a car and I would love to include some train (even if it's an excursion within a village) so we can enjoy the experience of great views (besides the ones from the car). We will be arriving from Portugal and we would like to see Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken, Grindelwald, Spiez, Zermatt, , Montreux, Neuchâtel, returning to Zurich (so I can return the car). Why is the map not showing me the driving route from Neuchâtel to Zurich? instead is making me go back down and up

After I came out I saw another person struggling so the cleaner helped her and went to a vending machine to buy a card so she could go in. And later read that it said "entry only with card or smartphone" (Zutritt nur mit Karte oder Smarthphone) I was not expending this haha. Oh and thanks to your videos helped me plan all my journey thru Suisse, it was wonderful. You guys are amazing ❤.
