- Located on Beech Mountain in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, the Land of Oz is a family-owned property that opens to the public for limited occasions including the annual Autumn at Oz Festival and Journey with Dorothy Tours. Come with us to Land of Oz™ where fans from all over the world celebrate author L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in all its glory!
Land of Oz is long rumored to have been "abandoned," but in actuality it's family owned, and is in great shape for kids of all ages!
They have opened it up this year for tours earlier and there may be an interest in getting it back up and running on a regular schedule. We are proud that a friend of the family is playing one of the Dorthy roles as her first job XD. My mother in law still has memorabilia from her visits to the park when it was still running in the 70s.
The parents enjoyed it more than the kid.
I actually went there last year with my dad, and it was cool.

We need to revisit in Autumn. So much more to see than in the summer.
I went when I was a little kid when it was originally open. And we rode the air lifts up the mountain. It was amazing. And I remember going into the basement for the storm, and coming out in OZ. OMG - it was wonderful.
What a great video! It captured so much of the fun of the day. I went the first four years it was opened, and friends took me back in 2014. So much has been added since then! I am glad to see it continue to grow each year. Thank you for sharing your experience!

I dont really remember what was there but i only remember when i was four i took a pic with Dorothy in front of the fountain I LIVE IN NC TO SOOOOO
aww I love this so much. your little niece is adorable. I hope i get to go to oz. I think i was dorothy for halloween because i remember i had some ruby shoes in my closet

It was absolutely wonder re-watching this video with a small Ellie in it!
they have built 2 new ski lifts, and my gf and I rode it to the top when we were there in 2019 for Oz. very smooth ride
Oh my goodness! I remember going here as s kid! I loved this place!!!! I believe it was 2007 or something like that. I remember getting pictures with all the characters, I feel like it was more free roam when I went there though. Time flies!

Went in 2019 and it didn't have nearly as many actors or vendors. Was pretty lackluster.
