- Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! Come join "Young at Heart Adventures" as we explore Autumn at Oz, at the Land of Oz amusement park at Beech Mountain, NC. We take the chair lift ride up Beech Mountain ski resort and enter the Land of Oz in Kansas. We then meet Dorothy, Almira Gulch, Professor Marvel, Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. After the terrible twister, we find ourselves in the Land of Oz, where we run into the wicked witch, the good witch, the munchkins, and of course scarecrow, tin man and the lion. We take the yellow brick road all the way to the Emerald City, where we see who really is running the show behind the curtain... spoiler alert, the Wizard is not what you think!
Autumn of Oz is an annual event that takes place 3 weekends in September... visitors can explore the (normally closed/private) Land of Oz theme park and meet the characters as they act out the story line as we travel down the yellow brick road.

Yes... keep in mind it is only 3 weekends per year in Sept and tickets sell out fast!
My parents brought me here in 1971-72.. lots of magical memories. Glad it’s open again!

What an enjoyable video. I watched it on my cell phone while my wife was getting an eye examination. I told her about it and played it on our big screen when we got home.

I’ve lived in the foothills of North Carolina in Morganton my 43 years on this earth, I’ve been to Tweetsie Railroad several times, Banner Elk and the surrounding areas, even went skiing up that way years back and never knew this place existed ?!?! Got to go check this out !!

10:44 and 17:26 the Wicked Witch of the West my favorite Oz Character 🖤💚🖤💚🧹❤️🔥🔮. I hope to visit this theme park someday I love the Wizard of Oz. I was hoping to visit this year but my mom had surgery so we didn’t.

So they do reenact parts from the movie but skipped the wicked witch melting? Don't the Winkie guards chant?
Hi Valerie... we kind of skipped that section down by the witch's castle and only saw it from a distance... I think they do reenact those scenes based on other people's videos we have seen.
