  • I have tons of insects in my lawn, making it difficult to mow or even spend time in the lawn with my family. Today I decided to take my lawn back by spraying an insecticide - Bifenthrin. Within a few hours I had zero insects attacking me.

    Great video I have the same problem with those things, they’re annoying when cutting grass, also have crane fly’s. I’ll try that product out as I noticed crane fly on the label while watching video.

    I’m starting to notice some bugs on my lawn that are similar to what you described.. I haven’t done a bifen app this year and need to get after it. Last season I went with 1oz per M since that covers pretty much everything. I was applying this monthly and it did a pretty good job of keep mosquitoes out of my yard. I’ll probably do the same this year...

    Love the tip on taking off/putting on the backpack sprayer. Great idea!! As for your Ortho hose end sprayer, you could try soaking the nozzle tip end in vinegar or sneak it in the dish washer. (Just don't get caught.😎) Never tried it, but worth a shot before you toss it I suppose. As always, keep'm coming and can't wait to see what you have in store for us next. 🤗

    You’re favorite sprayer is probably clogged. I cut an old milk jug put in soapy dish water, soak the sprayer tips (in you’re case the sprayer nozzle, adjust it to different settings), and clean the tank, rinse, then vinegar & water. , rinse & let dry. Give it a try. That’s how I clean my sprayers & wand tips. Need to rinse thoroughly, this stuff will clog up the little measuring thing … not a lot you can do about that, it clogs in the inside tube…this product does work. I also use the weed killer. Good products.

      I didn't see anything on the label about watering in or mowing after. I didn't water it in but it did rain about 12 hours later. I mowed about 40 hours later. So far no bugs, as soon as 2 hours after I sprayed

    A leafhopper is similar to a grasshopper. They have more defined wings giving them an almost moth look. Wisdom TC is similar to what you have from Tractor Supply. It can be mixed with Tempo SC ultra for an ultimate bedbug killer. Crossfire can only be bought on the Internet. That one's not recommended for lawn treating. There's a little black bee that is called a sweat bee. That could be what you have. Remember, these chemicals can kill pollinators and destroy honeybees.

      @@Alex-ss4bk it really depends on what the insects you're describing actually are. If they are fleas, midges, or something like that (pest to humans) they will not hurt your your lawn. I hate to break it to you but using bifen alone will not solve your problem. You will have minimal results spraying bifen out of a flow zone or any other back pack for that matter. You need to add in along with the bifen a product the alternator breaks the life cycle of mosquitoes and other insects. Most of these liquid insecticides are better applied with a mister blower. Still and solo make mister blowers used by most professionals. You will get more distribution of the product applied and more coverage in trees and shrubs were the pests live.

    • @DRK_BBQ
      @DRK_BBQ  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks for the info. So far the bifen is working but I need to do some research to figure out what these gnat things are, then get a product that works best for them. I will still be using the FlowZone since I already have it and cant afford a mister or fogger.

      Lazy Lawns ... I found something called a fungus gnat but they seem a little to big from what your talking about. I’m sure I have the same thing, they are very tiny, black and are all in your face when you cut the grass. They say the fungus gnat goes for the nose, mouth and eyes when cutting grass because of the warmth and moisture from your breath. Unless the photos are really blown up to show detail they just seem to big.
