Looks like another job well done... You always seem thorough in your work which I'm sure helps alot towards things turning out so well in the end. Keep up the good work mate... looking forward to the next one
Well I try looking at things with logic. The engine had a broken pin in that mag shaft. Like that old Lister D had a snapped chain mag. That tells me both these engines were running when these faults occurred.. I am normally quite lucky with mags. Normally a good clean of them points get them working every time. Hence why I checked, checked and triple checked them points. Good job I did or I would have had to fix the mag. This was a nice free fix. Happy man cave. Lol
@@NorfolkMancaveI wanted to pass this a long not sure if you know, you can use relatively high voltage film capacitors to replace the condenser not sure of the values I doubt it’s much in capacitance. For voltage I highly doubt the primary coil that the points are switching are high voltage, as it’s really current that’s needed not voltage. Any film capacitor around 600, or more volts should be well within the range. There’s a gentleman on UA-cam 805roadking he’s done some hit and misses, and some old buzz coils that way. You might found a starting value for capacitance, you may have to adjust the value until you get very little sparking between the points when they open. Help this helps you in the future just stumbled upon your channel, and really enjoy it!
Glad you got it sparking, but it really needs to be taken apart. The bearings sound very rough they need a bit of grease. I always fully take the magnetos apart to clean them. 👍
Hi ya. Yes buddy. Once this is all running I will then print it up. Its a shame someone oxide it in the past. I need to do somthing with that exhaust aswell.. gonna be noisy without the baffle plate. She will pop and fart like a good un. Glad ya enjoyed the vid as always my friend.
Hi ya. I messaged Ray but he not read it yet. Rob Cole off the Ruston group said it was a 31 and someone else said it was a 31 32 or 33. Do not 100% sure. Be nice if it was early 30s.
@@NorfolkMancave ahh ok, my 10pb was 1940 with that mag and sideshaft, i sold that as that was massive and heavy i couldnt handle it even at my young age😅😎.
Looks like a perfect job😀
Another great video by Adam. I have only just found him on utube. Would love to meet him and talk about lister engines . J. Hunter . Athboy, Ireland.
Thank you very much for the video, I have just purchased a Ruston pb8 and your tips about cleaning up the points worked perfectly.

Good vid. Thank you.
No problem. Thanks for watching 😁
Great video very enjoyable love this mini sires hopping to see this at strumpshaw maybe
It will be there at there next rally buddy.
@@NorfolkMancave I’ll look out for you I should bring my little Peter
nice one
👍👍
Very nice job with that magneto and the sump I can't wait to see this engine start up are you going to paint this at some point?

Where do you get the engines from love to buy one , they sound great 👍🏻
Adam do you ever sell your engines? Looking for a project for winter
You not going to give that mag a good clean up ?bearings sound rough as well .
Did you email Ray?, I'm sure it's late 30s as it's shaft drive, early 30s PB had wico EK mags.

@@EngineVids lol.. yeah this 9 is a heavy lump. Hate to think what bigger one would be. Buddy of mine got a pb9 on a trolly and it's 390kg.
@@NorfolkMancave thats interesting the guy who i got my 10pb off said the engine alone was 350kg.
