Is the gel mat good for long term use, practice wise? I hit 1,000-2,000 balls per week with practice and rounds included and wanting to make sure the next mat/strip I buy is good on the joints.
@@CarlsPlace Thank you for the quick reply. Curious out of those 2 would be considered better for lasting long term? I have put about 60,000 shots on my sim over the 2 years I've had it.
@@TeeToGreenGolf24 Hard to say which one would last longer. All depends on how the users swing and make contact with the ball/strip. We've seen both of them go through tens of thousands of shots and still be in good shape!
So the gel one seems like even if I catch ball first them mat it’s gonna “grab” my club. Am I wrong? Also is there anywhere that I can see a cross section of the foam and gel mats? Thanks!
Some might call it a grab, others will call it similar to taking a divot on a fairway. And for the cross section, we have not taken photos of that yet!
What have people done to use this mat with a Bushnell launch pro or GC 3? I know Foresight recommends that the launch monitor beyond the exact same level as where the ball is hit.
These hitting strips fit perfectly in Carl's HotShot Hitting Mat. Check out the whole mat system and accessories here: shop.carlofet.com/carls-hotshot-golf-mat-system Otherwise, people have cut out their own section in other hitting mats or flooring/turf to fit these strips in flush to the surface! In case you have a situation where you still need to lift the launch monitor up a bit, we do offer alignment stands that may help too! shop.carlofet.com/launch-monitor-alignment-stand
I have an EML and would get a 4x7, but the hitting strip is too close to the edge. Would be great if you could move the insert more to the center like the sigpro softy
Hey! Not sure what the size of the hitting strip area is on the SIGpro flooring, but our 12x30" strips are made to fit perfectly in our HotShot mats or other mats/flooring that is 1.75" high.
$80, $230 and $280 respectively
I have the gel insert and love it. Do you also offer taller grass in the same dimensions?
We do not, but will pass along the idea!
Can these be left outside in the rain?
We have not manufactured or tested our hitting mats or strips for outdoor elements, so we would recommend not leaving them outside.

The foam strip is best for frequent practice. The gel strip is best for a realistic feel, to get the best feedback if you're hitting fat shots.

Thanks for the input! Stay tuned!
I looked on the website and I dont see the gel hitting strip offered as a stand alone purchase. You have to buy a full mat?
Hey there! You should be able to order just a gel strip from this link: shop.carlofet.com/carls-hotshot-inserts
Will it fit the sigpro flooring?

They must be made from hummingbird lips they are so expensive
Bro is selling styrofoam for $280
