The trumpet player does an amazing job. This is literally the most difficult trumpet part ever written. He tosses it off without breaking a sweat! Bravo!
He's brilliant, barely moving the fingers of his left hand. The 3 hole tabor pipe is rather like this. Although it has a whistle mouthpiece, it depends on overflowing harmonics with very little fingering , and it can even be brass (more usually "tin"),
He's playing on a natural trumpet for wich it was originally written, instead of on a piccolo trumpet (I think?). The sound of it blends so much better with the rest of the instruments (as opposed to that of a piccolo one).
@@annaone211 He's playing on a baroque trumpet which is slightly different than a natural trumpet. His instrument has tone holes to help with tuning, a natural trumpet doesn't.
My goodness that trumpeter is amazing. Playing the brandenbrrg o baroque trumpet is the equivalent of doing ballet with wellington boots . It takes a genius to do that.
4:11 Just love the scene. The heads of the two cellists are bobbing up and down in perfect unison. But then when musician play, we lose track of what is around us and are so absorbed in the music created by our fingers gliding over our individual instruments. I think most of them (myself included) know the notes by heart. Every tone, every inflection, must be perfect. One mistake and it spoils the entire piece. Such is the determination needed to deliver.
The conductor (at the harpsichord) is going to damage his neck like that ! When he does semi quavers, I feel sure it is not necessary. The violinist would do them anyway. The room looks as though it is going to blow away.
I try to learn French Horn now as trumpet player and I notice that the open harmonics above c3 on that lower instrument are very difficult to play pure but at least the lips, the breath support can do it "healthy". The super high register is different on trumpet because the lips (majority of players) don't find a position of "very difficult but possible". Instead it's all forced and most likely unhealthy to play like that. But no, we don't give up. It's possible that a certain custom made mouthpiece (extremely small but deep ? ) and trumpet could make it happen.
It's cruel to separate the two recorders. The trumpeter seems to produce lots of noise with no effort, whereas the standing lady violinist seems to make lots of effort with no noise ! I like it, though. Is the room just made of curtains and hope ?
The filming of the second movement is atrocious ! It's a trio of equals, violin, oboe and recorder. But we see the oboe scarcely at all. The cameraman prefers to focus on a woman not playing her cello, or on the Headman (who is indeed rather fascinating).

He's Gabriele Cassone
The Brandenburg #2 Allegro is my favourite. I can play this by heart. The 1st violinist is excellent!!!
That movement makes me cry. Amazing.
-Kati Debreczeni...
The first violinist has a right arm so strong she could play for the Yankees.
what a Trumpet player, amazing sound, breath taking performance. Ton, always the best!
Gabriele Cassone!!! Top player
The natural trumpet blends so well with the other instruments. It’s not really loud or overpowering at all. I like it a lot.
Totally agree!!
この曲は、第1楽章と第3楽章で、トランペットが元気に活躍してるっていう感じの曲。聴いてると元気になれる。
un Bach jubilatoire et inoubliable, haute admiration
Bravo Bach! Bravo Ton! Thanks for uploading this wonderful interpretation of an iconic masterpiece! ❤️🎼🎵🎶👏🇮🇪☘️

I just had to see it again! What a spirited and wonderful performance!! Wish I'm in the ensemble.

Con el brandemburgués n2 quedé plenamente enamorada de Bach. Con esta obra me di cuenta de que Bach es es maestros de maestros.
Yessss! A natural trumpet instead of a piccolo trumpet!
Omg, to end this brutally hard phrase in 9:20 with an extra embellishment is quite something. Amazing!
Superb performance!

One of my "recorders" is an oboeist, but we see very little of him and never the two together, which is wrong.

Though I can manage the recorder and flute as well, I will not in a million years be able to even play the scale on the natural trumpet.
2:23 Normally I use separate bowing for these 2 bars.
Is that the violinst kati debratzeni?
I thought the same. I'm pretty sure it is.
Who is the trumpeter?
Sorry. I don't know him.

Nice work, too bad about the holes
You seem to have a personal problem with the natural trumpet. I keep seeing your comments popping up a bit everywhere bitching about it.
@@annaone211 these are NOT natural trumpets. Natural trumpets don't have holes in the middle. Check out Julian Zimmerman for a true natural trumpet.

Bad trumpetsound. Sounds like a toy trumpet.
The natural trumpet has a pretty light sound
You sound like a toy trumpet
Dude that's probably the best trumpet sound I've ever heard
There are much better performances. Obviously he has to play the higher notes louder than the lower ones to get them. The balance is bad.
Such a crass ignorant comment.
