Grotesque Teeth Fantasy Wood Spirit-
Using A Pine Knot to make a new spirit, this time
more fantasy and slightly grotesque. I focus
on the teeth that seem sharp and small.
I got inspired by actual people for this project,
with dental issues. Also I wanted to blend lower
teeth/mandible into the area below the face
to give inter grated look to the natural wood.

Thanks Mike, I have a native female in the works right now, It’s definitely a challenge even for me to dial in a female face, sometimes it falls into place, other times it’s a struggle; I need to do more though. Thnx for the suggestion!🌝

Putting aside is great when you're stuck, as I told Amy Jo, I say let this project rest until it appeals to me again! It would be so cool if everything could be done with simple cuts! But no, we come back to certain parts and others again and again!!! In my area, pine is the most accessible. But I would do without it sometimes! 😅

J'ai déjà hâte de découvrir ton nouveau projet ☺
Moi ce qui me plairait c'est de faire un Birds House avec un personnage avec un trou d'envol original et placé en hauteur car les oiseaux cavernicoles ont besoin d'une certaine profondeur pour nicher minimum 17 cm pour éviter aux oisillons de sortir trop vite et encore affaiblis.Tous les nichoirs que jai pu voir sur youtube avec des spirits ne sont pas assez profonds ils sont fait pour les canaris en cage...Le problème c'est de trouver une entrée qui aille bien avec le personnage sans pour autant utiliser l'oeil...

You captured “grotesque teeth” perfectly and the upturned nose has a backwoods deliverance’esqe look that compliments the piece. A work of art 👍

@@wood-psyche In fact, I wrote that because you like human faces! I'm more into spirituality, mythology/Celtic and nature and...in relief! I did my very first try with Buddha for experience and last year, during a challenge I wood carved my green lady, but I am really more, yes relief carving, mythology (Phoenix), spirituality, art Celtic and nature, but yes, I believe that a mother with her newborn would be exceptional and so sweet!
