Yea id be keen on a cross with sams02 to try and keep the thickness and the nice monstrose look. But definitely need a hb08 cross with a more stable mutation
Cacti seem to flower when they think they could possibly die soon. So don't fertilize them and don't water them for the lead up to flower time. That's what I've heard. I personally fertilize all the time so maybe that's why I don't get many flowers. But also with age regardless of how many nutrients the plants have they will flower at an older age.
sometimes i forget or am not bothered to water but most of the time the best thing to do after an upot of seedlings or mature plants is to give them seasol or some light liquid feed. and can do that straight away and again in a weeks time. but i also try to watchout of overwatering them.
@@andreluiskarpinski732 if I had the time, money and space I would repot as soon as I see the roots coming out the bottom. But sometimes they get really pot bound so I just do it when I can. These cacti (and quite a lot of cacti) can handle minimal root space whilst still growing strong.
do you get "man down" cactus after heavy rains, or do they withstand rain with only good nutrition? do you use systemic fungicide often? Love your cacti and videos.
Beautiful family 💚

My collection is about 50 plants. You have any advice for encouraging flowers?

Do you water a newly potted seedling right away? Do you water an up-pot right away? Or do you wait a week.

How much liters are those big pots?
Honestly I got no clue haha don't know the measurements either. All I know is the size that most of them are in is 200mm.
