Did you throw like 5 tips in a pot and thats how they grew? how old are those you think? I'm just learning about etilation I'm about to throw my tips on some half cococoir/peatmoss with some gravel in the bottem for drainage as I haven't been able to get pumice until payday you think they'll be OK to root in strait coco/peatmoss ? thanks!
Yea that's how they grew, they are around 2 years now haha very neglected. They will root in whatever you give them. They will root on concrete too. So yea it's fine.
Curious if you put them directly in the sun after a graft? or outside or do you keep them in a shaded room inside until they root? sorry trying to soak up as much information as possible im learning so much from you curt you the man!
So for a graft it's best to leave outside under cover or you can bring inside. But after that week they should be good outside unless your gonna get heaps of rain. One day of rain wouldn't hurt though. And for rooting. You want them outside but probably not in full sun. Just a shady position will be fine.
Letting them callous stops infections from taking over where it's been cut and stops from rotting easily but you could probably get away without callousing if you cut. And then place on really dry soil. As the soil would absorb the moisture and shouldn't sit top long around the base. But I really wouldn't wanna risk wasting my time when it gets rot and having to cut again. Maybe I'll do some experiments and make a video out of it. 😁
@@CurtsCactus thank you so much for the reply! I'll definitely give them at least a week in the sun and fresh air before I plant. They're skinny guys, 7 days should do it.

Is letting them callous necessary?
