This song is considered one of the greatest rock songs . In 1970 this was a revolutionary sound. DeepPurple inspired bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica and were among the heavy metal pioneers.
One of the pleasures of listening to Deep Purple is that numerous live versions of their songs exist, no two quite the same time, so you can listen and hear something new about a familiar song.
Good reaction. You must remember this is 1970, no computers, pure music, no high technologies. Every musician in this band is a great performer. Deep Purple is always on fire in stage, because every member challenge the others to play better. In the studio they sound not so good. I highly recommend to react to other tracks by Deep Purple like HIGHWAY STAR (live from MADE IN JAPAN album), also LAZY from the same album, and SPACE TRUCKIN'. After that you can check SPEED KING (studio version), STRANGE KIND OF WOMAN and then BURN. Thanks for your reaction.
"Made in Japan" is still the best live album by any band. Recorded during three concerts in Japan 1972. No overdubs, no corrections and the sound is just stellar. The version of Child in Time you just listened to was shorter than normal. Usually, the instrumental part is much longer. The opening track "Highway Star" with a fan made video: ua-cam.com/video/7zKAS7XOWaQ/v-deo.html
Deep Purple" was formed in 1967, and all of these musicians are top shelf in the Rock world. Guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, is among the best with Hendrix, Clapton Galagher etc.
It took me ages to accept that keyboards/synthesizers were actual instruments, as I always saw them as being artificial and programmed (I grew up with 80's pop, after all...). Rainbow Rising cured me of that (same school mate pointed that out to me weeks later... I did hate him for proving me wrong, though... ;P ). The fun thing to remember is that this song was made when there were very little faking done, so the instruments were played live in the studio, and the vocals were also very real!
Robert plant? are you from mars? the difference between joint z and DP is that DP was light years ahead of music. I curl my toes when you sing along with vibrato. You haven't got a clue. sad
I'm a big Ian Gillian fan(singer), . His best stuff was with DP, but his album with Black Sabbath "Born Again"... goes mostly un recognized. Songs : "Born Again", " Keep it Warm" & " Trashed"... the whole album really needs a listen.
for you as a metal fan, I recommend you to listen to the song Hard Lovin Man from album Deep Purple In Rock, the same album on which Child in Time was released, you will find out where Iron Maiden took their galloping riffs from. Ian Gillan - the singer - is Bruce Dickinson's biggest vocal hero....
The melody is actually by It's a Beautiful Day /Bombay Calling . You might be familiar with. Rainbow, it was Ritchie Blackmore's band that he formed the late 70s originally with member vocalist Ronnie James Dio and and the band was very popular ..Ritchie created more of a progressive sound in Rainbow ..
Check out "GYPSY" "LOOK AT YOURSELF" "SUNRISE" "DREAMMARE" by URIAH HEEP. if you are not already familiar with the band or these songs, i guarantee you are going to be in AWE !
I was going to recommend listening to Rainbow, the band that was created by Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. However the lead singer is Ronnie James Dio and he definitely has an operatic voice. That being said, you most likely would not like it. I think it is great, especially the song "Stargazer".
A child reviewing masters of rock, citing musicians and bands who came long after Deep Purple, suggesting they were derivative when they were leaders and unique. Pathetic.
One of Iron Maiden’s main influences was the band UFO and guitarist Michael Schenker. Particularly their song “Doctor, Doctor” went into shaping Iron Maiden’s signature sound. They play it as their warmup song before EVERY show. Steve Harris has also named UFO’s song “Love To Love” as his favorite song.
Child In Time is possibly the greatest Hard Rock Song. Deep Purple Mark II is tgmhe greatest mix of talent to ever play on stage. The Format was the first of it's kind. Stairway to Heaven and Freebird followed this Format. Ian Gillan sang the part of Jesus Christ on the Jesus Christ Superstar Album.
It’s been a while since I visited your channel and I see you have reacted to some great young female vocalists, including Angelina Jordan and Aurora. But I am surprised that it appears you haven’t yet listened to anything from Lucy Thomas, who is the epitome of vocal perfection, at least from a technical point of view. Please do react to this 20-year-old’s recent cover of ‘Unchained Melody’.
I can't believe u haven't done a reaction to Disturbed THE SOUND OF SILENCE. U've had to of listened to David Draiman the lead singer for Disturbed??? The sound of silence is mabe 1 of if not the best remakes of a song ever. Do ure self a favor & react to it!!!!
What is exceptional about this piece is that absolutely every musician has created an incredible score.
This song is considered one of the greatest rock songs . In 1970 this was a revolutionary sound. DeepPurple inspired bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica and were among the heavy metal pioneers.
Remember this is before computers etc, if they remind you of someone remember they were there first.
The days when you needed pure talent 🙏❤️
One of the pleasures of listening to Deep Purple is that numerous live versions of their songs exist, no two quite the same time, so you can listen and hear something new about a familiar song.
One of the best rock bands ever ❤🙏
There is absolutely no way Plant could hit those high notes 😊
You sure? 😁 I guess I don’t know plant’s register enough
I googled their ranges, seems Ian’s register is higher by half a note 😁
I did tell you 😉😊👍
This band is engraved IN ROCK history...😊
Definitely! And in particular that song - it's perfect!
Good reaction.

The original Jesus Christ (well, you know what I mean...)
Gethsemane song always makes me cry
and of course, Ian Gillan with his awesome voice.
Believe it or not, Deep Purple just released a new album. The first single is called “Portable Door.”

Best version of Smoke on the water, too.

Another good one is Strange Kind Of Woman, Ian on the vocals and Ritchie on the guitar go back and forth on some high notes, it's pretty cool !!
LEGENDS!!!

Robert Plant couldn't sing a well as Ian Gillan. Not sure why folks compare them, perhaps just because they are unfamiliar with Deep Purple.
Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘
Superb! I like this song, I discovered it thanks to my dad a long long time ago😁 thank you for the reaction Danny🙏🏻
The original version of this song, on the album "Deep Purple In Rock" is fantastic and better than all the live performances, to me.
I sing in an acoustic band. I think if I tried to sing this I would be on the floor coughing and choking up blood.

Nice song. Very 70's 😬 I didn't know it so thanks for the discovering!

💜💜💜💜💜
the guitarist is Richie Blackmore, later of Rainbow. the keyboardist is the late great Jon Lord. the drummer was 17 or 18 i believe.
Ian Paice (drummer) was born in 1948, so he was 22.
Lord was in his mid 20s.
@@ponytrekker8996 Lord was bron in 1941, so he was 29
Please more!!!!
I like to hear “ interpretation “ on DP….
You just have watched the best 5 musicians in the industry!
Especially 54 years ago!
If you liked this one consider reacting to their song "Lazy". Thanks for the review.

I was literally getting ready to comment the same thing.
Love Uriah heep not many people I have spoken to have never really appreciated them
Richie's last round with Gibson
I didn't know any other Deep Purple songs either. It felt like a bit of a slow start but really evolved into something good
Stairway to heaven....youtube that.
@@picdriver That is Led Zeppelin
@rodolfopilon9291 Yes I know...Just another classic.
Nice reaction Danny! 👏🤘
"Highway Star" - "Woman From Tokyo" - "Perfect Strangers"

Somewhere I still have a best of rainbow cd that includes a family tree of different bands and their members and which band they moved to.
Bruce wasn't probably being born when GREAT IAN GILLAN sings.
You don't like Jim Morrison singing, what is problem with you.
Rush was not even born in that time. What is wrong with with you???????????

There IS no holy triad of rock/metal. There was only Deep Purple Led zeppelin, sabbath and the rest followed
Arrogant!
And Mozart sounds like some pisnostuff on TikTok
Jesus Christ Superstar👍
Do you really need an explanation of what this song is about?
2:00 - Ah, you noticed the dissonance! You're one of the very few reactors to this song to do it. 👏👏
Yes I agree, very few reviewers mention it but it was one of Purples unique traits.
The bands you mention did not exist in 1970. Except Led Zeppelin. The song is about the Vietnam war.
Sorry, but no. This is a song about the Cold War.
Wrong war. Try cold war

First guitar song : of course 😂
You sir are not dep purple and you’re a rrogent
The singer, Ian Gillan, was Jesus in Jesus superstar.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍
Of course bruce is another level , level of artificial voice not a natural voice like ian gillan , mygod.....😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ritchie Blackmore, greatest guitarist ever!
🤐!!!
nineteensevennie, sweet
Sweet Child inTime is the title.
Another one who pretends to be a musician and is not capable to listen without interrupting.
