2023 GMC Canyon Elevation vs AT4 | Feature & Pricing Breakdown!

  • In this video I compare the 2023 GMC Canyon Elevation and the Canyon AT4 options, features, and pricing between the two trims. In this generation, GMC shuffled some of the equipment around along with added new or available equipment to lesser trims. The Elevation can be equipped somewhat close to the AT4 however there are a fair amount of options you must get an AT4 (or higher) to get. If you are looking for a somewhat affordable, lesser equipped truck the Elevation might be a better buy however if you want some nicer features and interior, the AT4 seems like a good choice.

    I think a number of people would be interested in comparing between the Z71 and the AT4, how are they similar and how are they different.

    I just love to thank you for this video. You saved me from making a big mistake. I originally ordered a elevation that was pretty loaded up. And after watching this video, I realized it was only a one speed transfer case. I don’t know how I never noticed that. I went back and canceled that order and changed it to AT4 with the premium package and the trailering package. For only $2700 more I’d say that’s a no-brainer.

    I think I'm gonna get a 2024 Canyon AT4 in the desert sand color with just the trailering package. MSRP would be $45,905.00

    The build I had was AT4, Premium package, sunroof, bedliner, off-road tires, came out to about 49,205. I hate that the premium package or the standard AT4 doesn’t have bedliner standard, it shouldn’t be an add on

      Absolutely, especially at the standard AT4 price point!

      I understand why they make it optional on all trucks but sometimes it is included with certain off road packages. At the end of the day, I would rather pay for the OEM vs aftermarket.

    Man, you’re awesome! Glad I stumbled across your video, I’m going to be a truck owner for the first time in my life. (Volkswagen loyalist) I just ordered an AT4 with safety plus along with the technology package, the spray on bed liner was an individual added option. I was never more confused ordering this vehicle. G Mgr & salesman didn’t know IMO the important things about the truck while I was ordering. There were must have items that I wanted, but they were clueless in how to obtain them. Thanks to you in comparison between the 2 trims it helped a bit. I actually spent more than I wanted to, yet feel that I’m not getting all that I wanted. Either way, you are much appreciated with your information! I’ve been watching this video over and over to understand what I have coming in lol. Happy either way, but just want to thank you for your knowledge.

      Nice. The Elevation is still going to be a great truck considering the lift and widebody. If you don't need the 2 speed transfer case, I would say its basically a nicer Trailboss.

      @@CarsMadeSimple i forgot to mention my seller but i think the elevation is same hight of the At4 ? And AT4X got a 1" lift higher that the elevation and At4 . ? With bigger tire too am i wrong ?

      @@geezusmeatball1328 Yes all the Canyon's should have the same 2" lift with 32"(ish) tires and the AT4XZR2 get a 3" lift with 33" tires.

    Great video! I'm currently considering the Canyon AT4, Colorado Z71 and Colorado ZR2, so definitely looking forward to your Canyon/Colorado comparison.

    • @mgarver8149
      @mgarver8149 Рік тому +1

      I'm in the same boat, mainly comparing the AT4 to the Z71, trying to determine if paying extra for the AT4's Lift and Wide stance is worth it. I think it is, but that is one of the main differences (hopefully he'll highlight other big differences), I think. The ZR2 looks so cool, but I don't want to lose the towing and payload.

    • @sigshooter2348
      @sigshooter2348 Рік тому +1

      @@mgarver8149 You bring up a good point with the towing and payload. I got a little caught up in the idea when I did a configuration that put the ZR2 within 1K of a loaded AT4, but the real decision for me is still between the AT4 and the Z71.

      Sorry I have been very busy over the last couple days. Just remember the AT4 starts out at the equivalent as a Z71 Convenience II (minus wireless charging). From there both trucks have an optional package with some nice additional equipment.

      GMC made the High Output option standard, so all trim levels will have the highest output engine.

    This is whats wrong with gm. No composite bed, or standard bed liner. Tailgate hatch is an option when it should be standard. No power rear window slider. And the list goes on. GM are the worst at trying to get you to move up on packages for more money. Nice truck, but by the time you get what you want on the truck its pricey.

    I went with the Elevation 2wd with convenience pkg, preferred pkg, trailer pkg, step side rail, sprayed bed liner. And was charged 500 for black paint. With GM employee discount and destination charge included the price was 39,407.13 that doesn't include tax title. License. MSRP for this truck for non GM employee is 42,765.00. I picked it up 6 weeks after ordering it at the Dealership which was on 5/2/23. Absolutely love this truck and sold my 2019 GMC Sierra Elevation just so I could replace it with the Canyon, no regrets, easier to park. Still tows the same load as the Sierra, better gas mileage and more comfortable to drive and the technology is much better.

    Never or ever get a 4 cylinder myself. Just speaking for myself. Had 1 only 1 time and never again. To me don't care if these 4s get better gas millage. And don't care if they improved the power on them. Rather have the more powerful engine in the traditional 6 or 8 cylinders is the best. Not to mention if a person, he or she lives on a flat climate in America or ever have to go through the high steep hills or mountains outside of your area, probably be out of your state unexpected or on vacation you will be glad to have a 6 or 8 cylinder, to go through these steep hills and or mountains, without no problems.
