    I went back and forth between the Trail Boss and AT4. I ended up biting the bullet, and paying extra for the AT4 in order to get the features you would expect standard in a 2023 vehicle. In particular, the HO engine tune, LED lighting, remote start, power front seats, cruise control, wireless charging, etc.

      I'm with you. The AT4 just offers so much more plus it looks so much better than the Chevy Z71. A decked out AT4 basically has everything a Denali has except the bigger gage screen for $50k vs the Denali at $53k. No brainer......

    • @g4yrut
      @g4yrut Рік тому +3

      @@Dusdaddy Yup, I think the only trim that Chevy nailed is the Trail Boss. Some off-road capability, more basic, but good price tag. I think it’ll be popular for outdoorsy customers.
      Besides that, I think the GMC is better value if you’re looking for the basic creature comforts of a new vehicle.

    Best looking mid size truck on the market, by a long shot. The Denali is a knock out! My only gripe is those low hanging side steps. I think it needs a set of automatic deploying side steps. That way they tuck up out of sight when you’re not using them.

      @@G-Rated I doubt it. The Denali is about luxury, not off-road prowess. Skid plates, sports bar and even hill descent control are not available on the Denali. Neither are 17" wheels.

    Using an existing bolt pattern for the rims is a great idea. I was surprised that on the 2nd generation Canyon the bolt pattern on the differential, and rims were unique so no aftermarket parts were available at first. With a 4x4 it is always a good idea to use common or popular parts to take advantage of the aftermarket and make getting replacement parts for repairs in remote locations easier. I don't like the way the touchscreen is sticking up from the dash. It would look better if the dash completely wrapped around the touchscreen, making it look more "embedded" in the dash like the G-Wagon or Bentley's rotating display.

    At4x miles are actually 16/16; sits higher, less towing, and has higher rollover capabilities.... but still nice with upgrades packages like the denali.
    This has me debating between the 4x and denali (to buy).

      It’s a seriously annoying feature for anyone that’s ever worked at a secure facility like a military base. The first thing you do when pulling up to show your ID to security is to dim the headlights. Now the driver of a Canyon has to mess with some touch screen for the lights instead of flipping a switch on the stalk or the dash.

    One of the best "party tricks" that Toyota has is the rear window, the entire thing, will go down, electronically. If you have a surfboard, cargo, and don't want it in the bed, or you want to keep the engine on while the A/C is running, and you are wanting to cool down the truck bed, it will cool the bed down much better with that whole window coming down than a tiny window. Many people nowadays are "minimalists", meaning they are trying to maximize everything in a small space, and at the same time trying to use as little gasoline as possible. No Airstreams. No campers. Just the truck bed. You are not going 4-wheeling with an Airstream or camper unless you drop it off somewhere. Then, you have to waste tons of time on the camper. There are peeps who will drive 6 hours/day driving out and then coming back home to their camper, and those that drive out for 30 days. just in their 4 door truck. I guess we all need 2 different trucks! LOL

    I was on board until Andre mentioned the AT4X “starts” at $57k….in other words it’s over $60k. No thanks. I will just roll my own. I priced out an Elevation and it came to $43k reasonably equipped. That gives me at least $17k to add a long travel kit, wheels, and tires with some King reservoir shocks. The only issue would be the lockers. Last I heard ARB was working on at least a rear locker for the previous Colorado. Hopefully that locker will work on the new Colorado/Canyon as well.

      True. Very few people are going to beat on a $60k truck and actually use it to its full capabilities blasting across the desert where you’re only one wrong turn away from wrecking your truck which insurance won’t cover. But I was just illustrating another way to skin a cat and build a better truck for likely similar money to the AT4X.
