    Bench dips and overhead cable extensions are amazing, tri obliteration on my end lol. My rope extensions start holding handles apart, then once I can no longer do that, extended together, then separated at the end, then once i can't pull them apart, pulses with my hands together.
    Kickbacks are an amazing exercise, tricep cramp backs more often because of the amazing flex you can get if you don't go too heavy.

    The reverse grip with 2 spongy handles is one of my faves. I really feel the MMC and I get a great pump when I do drop sets.
    It just goes to show how we're all different.
    I save all overhead work for the end to save my elbows. John taught me that and I have recommended that to a few beginners.
    Thanks, JM!

      @@PF_ROB - A couple other unique tips I got from John that have continued working for months now (no plateau yet using these):
      1) Paused shrugs. I take 5 seconds to complete one shrug. Raise up slowly and hold for 4 seconds, then returning to start takes about 1 second.
      2) Partial ROM side laterals. I use more weight than I can handle and just cut down on the range of motion. I do however decrease the weight after 2 sets so I can do 2 more sets with full ROM, but before this trick, I never managed to get my delts sore, regardless of sets completed.
      There's many more, but those two really stand out to me because I've never heard them anywhere else!

    • @PF_ROB
      @PF_ROB 5 років тому +1

      @@1trillionviews516
      Right on, man. Those partial side raises are legit. I also love partials for leg extensions and seated calf raises. I'll do my working sets but on the last set or two I'll do partials til exhaustion. The stack might only move a few inches but it's pumping in even more blood and they burn like crazy.
      I finally lowered the weight big time on my curls too as John has mentioned at least a few times. 20-25 lbs with the hardest contraction and 2-3 second hold at the top. The weight is humbling and the pain is nuts but the pump is ungodly. I swear I can see a difference after only 3 sessions of this. I squeeze and contract as hard as I can for most everything else but I'm not sure why I wasn't doing it for my biceps.
      John's the truth, no doubt

    If you have discomfort with any OH type tricep movement, I find that if you don't use any attachment at all, and just grab the end of the cable, The single arm cable overhead extension is amazing. Even if you go heavy on these, It won't actually be heavy. Feels great, saves the joints, you'll get results over time.

    I just started lifting again at 60, was concerned about technique being more important than ever at my age if I wanted to stay healthy and enjoy my workouts. This is the best channel I have found and I can't believe John is gone, RIP and thanks for a great legacy in making these videos
