I never really wanted to get into the sewer/pipeline business but this almost make me want to. Nicely done Milwaukee. Now can you make a stud/cable/pipe finder for walls that actually works unlike many of the others.
You would think they'd just be done with it all and make some kind of see through walls radar that actually works by now. In 2021, why do we not have x ray vision yet? I'm sure some startup figured out cheap handheld mm wave cameras by now!

I'd love to see this have an inducer pack option for fiberoptic line locates. This would be an incredibly competitive unit in that market with its feature set!
They should have made it a m18 not everyone has both sets. For the $9,400 the main tool cost it should come with this. I've made my own pipe inspection cameras for substantially less including a tracker.

They have cordless mag drills out!? That's one tool I've never thought "damn, i need this cordless". though a few weeks ago i did shorten my cord between the drill and mag base because i found it dangerously long.
This is just a C.A.T (Cable Avoidance Tool). They run on 6xD batteries so already cordless, and are about £800 including a signal generator, if you're unsure what I mean just google CAT and Genny. You can also use a couple of different sondes which attach to the end of drain rods and the sondes are around £180. Also had mine 10+yrs and still works A+.
@Belts And Boxes. Thanks Rob for the info on this new M12 Milwaukee Pipeline Locator that is a (most expensive) accessory for the Milwaukee M18 Inspection Camera. Learned from Ian and Jay from OPT that if you want to bring your own tablet to use with the inspection camera, there'll be a app we can download for iOS or Android to use the camera. Nice. Oh. I put in a good word with Jay that he get you a M18 Coffee Maker when Milwaukee makes one. Hope you, Sarah, the crew at B&B, and your families stay safe and well.

if you can't afford it, measure how deep you inserted it, put a stake into the ground and draw a circle with marking paint to where it is long enough to be. Observe the video to guess the angle of the pipe and stuff then start digging after an educated guess. Usually pipes need to be pretty strait so you can kinda figure where its gonna be. The biggest problems will be like gutter pipes that are flexible and are laid out in arcs, but since you know the distance and drew the circle you can imagine where it is. Put tape on the inspector after you get then measure it on the ground.
That things pretty cool. I hope in the future tool companies stop feeling quite so obligated to make every inch of their tools from brand coloured plastic.
