I worked as an "extra" on this movie. Played the part of a blackjack dealer at Debbie Reynold's Casino and a reporter at a police station.. It was a real treat seeing these ladies up close and in person. Shirley Maclaine was wonderful. During the police station scene, she looked at me and winked!

Debbie Reynolds and Liz Taylor renewed their friendship in 1964 and became closer than they ever were before. They appeared in public together many times, socialized, and it was Liz who enlisted Debbie to work with her on AIDS after the death of their friend Rock Hudson. In fact, Liz left Debbie some of her jewelry in her will. They were friends since 1950, were estranged during the Eddie Fisher years, and when Liz married Burton, she and Debbie bonded again. It was a very unusual and close relationship.

Eddie Fisher married Connie Stevens two years after Liz divorced him. They had two lovely girls who remained close to Carrie and Debbie. This marriage also ended in divorce. Eddie Fisher than got into cocaine, and his career went into the dumper. Liz and Debbie resumed their friendship, were seen in public together, and visited each others houses constantly. It was Liz who got Debbie interested in AIDS work, and when she died, she left Debbie some very expensive jewelry. They were friends as teenagers, and except during the time Liz was married to Eddie, they remained friends until the end of Liz' life. Carrie Fisher adored Liz and Liz adored Carrie. Liz was very sick for the last ten years of her life and Debbie visited her often.

Elizabeth was great at doing voice impressions . When she appeared on the game show What's My Line ? in the 1950s she reminded be of an American telephone operator 👍
Debbie was good at this , too .

They all once looked - and here still looked - great. Elizabeth Taylor was a goddess back in the 50s whereas Joan blossomed in the 1980s and 90s. They are all icons and it was great fun for them to send themselves up in this way. Sadly, the writer Carrie Fisher was taken from us too soon. She really was a fantastic and observant writer.

Liz is attempting an impersonation of Hollywood super agent Sue Mengers, who was famously abrasive, larger than life, always wore caftans and did much of her business from bed. It's an in-joke, since most people would have had no idea who Mengers was. Sadly, Liz can't manage Mengers' Brooklyn accent and comes off sounding more cockney than anything else. It's probably Liz's worst performance ever.
