Always super happy to see you on my feed. ❤ Edit- Also, the concentrate that's going into the tincture definitely should be activated before dissolving into alcohol, you can do this by putting the concentrate into a silicone puck and throwing it in the oven. The butter on the other hand is most likely going to be cooked in the end so activating it would be redundant. Activation is not necessary for distillates as they are already active.
ive heard not to freeze concentrates, and to still decarb your concentrate & use ghee butter for the highest fat content for the thc to stick too. and its best not to burn your butter while cooking, rather throw it in your mix such ass making cookies or a cake etc..

Thanks for the video Liz! 1g of shatter with 1/2 cup alcohol, can you break down what the total dosage would be, is it 1000mg then for the entire tincture?
She is partially decarbing it, then when she cooks with it, it finishes the decarbing. If she were doing a tincture to go under your tongue, she would decarb it more from the start... I think.
@@user-fp4cl3mh8s not decarbed as usual. But cooking it in the butter for 3 hrs at 170 or whatever does decarb it some. Then she probly knows she is going to cook with, wich "decarbs" activates it the rest of the way. I do this with temple balls. They are decarbed about 60 % or so. So if I put it in the oven maybe 10 min on 220. Its decarbed most of the way if not all. Then mingle it with coconut oil for 4 hrs real slow and low. Now its decarbed 100% I think if you over activate your weed then cook it to hot to long, it could be bad.

@jeffhill5843 If there is a heating process to making hash, then no. If the method is a cold process, then yes.

Personally, I don't. I find the heat from cooking does the job. If I'm using my tincture for recipes that don't call for cooking then I do.
