I already have an Odin, but I wanted something more portable, so I got the Metal version of the RP3+ as well. Looking forward to setting it up tomorrow when it arrives.
It is still early so Retroid still has more handhelds coming out so it would be hard to say weather it is the best handheld for 2023 and other competitors still have to throw their newer handhelds into the competition.
i just got the 405m and no complaints but would like to see a batocera build for this chipset maybe we can get a lil bit more power out of this chipset for ps2 ect its bootloader has been unlocked so cant see why we cudnt boot batocera from sd card and have android on the soc im hoping in near future this will happen for these devices
I just got the rp3 plus, and previously owned rg35xx, when batocera came to the 35xx I was able to play dreamcast, nds, psp, and n64. so if it comes to rp3 plus and 405m would be great
if you havent already done so you should definitely consider installing gamma os. fixed everything anberbic fucked up. retro corps has a good guide on installation.
@@Ibadullah you download games yourself and most of them are ROMs. I already have the Half Life 2 games on Steam and I just copied the files onto my handheld, then installed a free “port” to run them all.
Is it fun playing on consoles? Sorry I have never played on any kind of console or pc for financial reasons. That's why I wanted to know the experience.
I prefer the retropocket 3 plus now after reading. Can get the 512gb pre sd card full of games, out of the box can run the systems I like, segadc, Amiga cd32, neogeocd. The anberic dies mot offer these, ir not listed
if you buy from a 3rd party you can get whatever you want. youre always better off buying the base model and installing gamma and your own sd card anyways. the sd cards they come with are super cheap.
The RG405m is better in my opinon. Metal case, higher looking quailty, easier setup out of the box, so practcally sets everything up for you. Retro pocket, case is cheap, and looks cheap. RG 405m and Retropocket 3 plus have the same specs, so going for the RG405m
@Can Karahan no the 3÷ has the better chip set, and they just did an update making it faster. Was going to get the rg405m, but anbernic stuck with fat32, which can have issues. Fat32 Is now ancient. Also the 3+ has hdmi out, higher res screen, so better value for your money

This one looks nice. Tiny buttons can be useful if you need to press Y and A at the same time (like in Super Mario 64 DS!)

I have Half Life 2 at max settings running 60fps solid and it looks amazing on the RP3+

Tekken 4 plays good with a little tinkering. And tekken 5 also plays very well.

Full system boot is pretty quick. Less than 30 seconds. I personally just shut mine down every time I'm done with it. Just a thought 👍

Its almost plug and play if you buy one with pre installed games. Go into game mode and can easily add games from the SD card
