Want to hear the sad truth he took a random girls photo and changed the colors on the charecter and then made fun of it ... Like the complete a**hole he is
Yandere dev says this like these free workers are going to treat this like a full time job when they aren’t being paid like the people have jobs that pay their rent don’t expect a lot from people you begged for free shit from
One thing I really hated was that he was begging for money everytime there was a cutscene saying that they wouldn't be animated unless the crowdfunding campaign goes well
and one of the cut scenes where you're in the main character's house already had an animation but alex just decided to get rid of it when he could've just replaced kokona with osana
Fnaf earned 0 dollars in crowdfunding money. The dev worked at a Dollar Store or something to pay for his taxes, food, things for his kids, and got it finished. It's just so retarded. And now I'm being called retarded guys I'm calling yamsim retarded not fnaf
@@BEANSBEANSBEANS404 To be fair, the first fnaf game is a lot less complex than the game YanDev is trying to make. But, still remaining completely fair, much more complex games have been completed in shorter periods and with less money (the fucker has had a Patreon for years now. Where'd the several thousand dollars he was getting a month go to if not to the game??? Another sex doll??? Probably!).
@@ava_marie_v Can you stop using "It's more complex" logic? That's retarded. Alex can't do shit unless using his shitty code, the other things he just stealing them. Scott on other hand, he modeling everything himself.
@@I_Dont_Believe_In_Salad All I'm saying is the idea YanDev has in his head is objectively going to be harder to code and require more time. He wants to make a sandbox with lots of branching choices, whereas Scott's game is very linear with no movement around the map and very little full animation. Am I saying the execution is going well for YanDev? No, that's not the point I'm making at all. Nor am I slighting Scott in any regard. He created an incredibly influential game that inspired a whole new subgenre of both game design and horror. What he created is better than anything YanDev could do. But the ideas they started with are different and one is objectively more complicated than the other.
There's nothing wrong with having a more linear style of gameplay, there is also nothing wrong with wanting to have an open style of gameplay. But don't tell your audience that you can only play a certain way by taking away the option to do it differently. He is like that one older sibling that’ll kick your door down and straight up just steal your toys.
Yeah but he was like "i want it like hitman" and hit man is just like kill this man, take these methods, use them how you like, and yandev was like "take these methods BUT use them at this moment, and if you use it to any other shit i will remove it" Idk if i make my point clear
i remember in 2017 when i was like 12 i was playing yandere simulator at a family gathering on my shitty little laptop. my uncle came up to me and asked what i was playing so i started explaining to him how the panty shot mechanic works. when i saw the weirded out look on his face and i slowly realized what im explaining to this grown man. i just got quiet, closed the game, uninstalled it and i havent played it since. im not sure if my uncle remembers this but this is a core memory that kinda changed me as a person and i remember it every time i see him.
reminds me of when i was 9 and me and my friend were playing yan sim on her mom's computer. we were running around taking panty shots and killing people and her mom walked in. she walked in right as my friend was taking a panty shot of one of the dead girls and made a face of pure disgust. she freaked out and asked what the fuck we were doing, yanked the cord out of the pc, and told me to go out into the living room. i think i sat on their couch for like 5-10 minutes awkwardly listening to her mom scream at her and whatnot. actually i have a lot of memories of people playing yan sim when id go over to their houses since it came out when i was in the 4th - 5th grade
CORRECTION : he got inspiration from persona, hitman, and every anime ever. Like how I was inspired by a well designed and well crafted meal I had at a local restaurant. and out of inspiration I made a well designed and well crafted dump later that same day.
For some ungodly reason the way that YandereDev smashes these different properties together reminds me a lot of Sonic:EXE and especially the sequel Round 2 where the author shifted the tone and story entirely after what he was watching at the time he wrote it, going from cop-thriller to Death Note to action-anime. Let alone the way that the original just includes music-tracks from other games just because they sound cool.
at this point i feel like the healthiest thing yandev could do for himself is to officially suspend this project, vanish from the internet, and seek help for himself, because in his current state, he is not going to get this done and nothing short of literal divine intervention will fix things
Don’t forget there will still be people who will recognise him when he goes out so he must rid of anything more that can be used against him by deleting it first chance so he absolutely must stay on the internet! /s
Need to remind people that Razzbowski found a way to kill osana in less than a minute and had a lot of fun with it, just for Yanderedev to quickly patch it by making Raibaru smell gasoline from a mile away
@@user-zb1xf1mu6r I mean it’s definitely possible? But not in the way that he put it in the game. Like sure maybe she would smell gasoline but I’m pretty sure the first thought would be “hey something must be leaking/wow that’s kinda weird” instead of immediately going “omg no there’s absolutely a bucket of gasoline over the door! I can totally tell!”
What's weird isn't that Raibaru is able to smell the gasoline; it's that other students can't. Gasoline has a very distinct smell. You'd think a student with the "teacher's pet" personality would think, "Oh no, there might be a gas leak! Better report this to faculty!" No one even reports the fact that they themself or others have been doused in gasoline.
@@plutonix5792 if yanderedev had a brain cell, spilling gasoline could be used to give you a small amount of time where the teachers pet students are gone to tell a teacher
wait what about kokona's whole storyline about needing to go on dates for men because her dad was broke and then the other loanshark daughter making fun of her or whatever. he spent so much time on that and for what lmao
Wasn‘t there also a whole storyline about the murders that happened before Yan-chan gone to the school? With the mysterious tapes and everything? Wasn’t it implemented in some part in the sandbox builds and now it gone? And don‘t forgot all the mini games etc. So much time wasted.
Felly1992 I don’t keep tabs on builds and stuff but that was cut??? It was introduced in 2015 since I remember that’s when I was into Yandere Sim at the beginning of it. Wasn’t it about her mother being a serial killer and her dad being the “Senpai’s” father on some incest shit or something?
After paying a bit of attention to the demo from some gameplay video, it turns out many parts of Kokona's compensated dating story is recycled to be on Osana. So in short; Osana is basically just Kokona with a horribly designed bodyguard
As someone who followed development from super early on I'm pretty sure things would've ran a lot smoother if he had just used kokona as the first rival. 1 its makes sense that the first rival is a random girl that senpai has no relationship to. Therefore she's more of a sacrifice to the player. 2 she had an actual storyline,(Although straight up pedophilia) and this storyline allowed you to try nearly all of the elimination methods. 3. This gives the player the tine to be ready with stats and stuff starting on the second week. Edit: i literally just remembered that she even had storyline animation, like the kidnapping one and the one at Ayano's house right??? What a huge waste of time.
@@sawgiie She had legit depth and a sympathetic storyline and you could clearly see how her life led to the decisions she ended up making and the compensated dating, and how senpai seemed like a wholesome escape from all of that. What was the point of all of that now though?
YandereDev : Yandere Sim is a game where you can play freely, it's a social sim with a lot of options and- Players : *find easy and easier ways to complete in one minute a game he took 6 years to get an unfinished demo out* YandereDev : no! not like that!

Actually the volunteers were not necessarily working slowly as in reality they were actually quitting after working on the game for a few months to a couple of years because of them being poorly treated by Alex! So pretty much there was always a limited amount of volunteers working on the game because of them frequently quitting shortly after joining the project for all the right reasons as I mentioned!
his "guide" on how to kill people is like the 26 page brownie recipe made by the military which details what godamn eggs are and the exact amounts of materials needed to make the brownies which aparently taste awful
or a cake recipe in which an old housewife writes her entire life's story and then everyone in the comments goes "this is great with a few modifications!" and then post their own entire recipe that's completely different
This game was delayed because of lazy " volunteers" (probably just artists)? Has Yandere dev never heard of temporary assets? Hell, a standard block be sufficient while he works on programing. I guess he wouldn't know that though since he only uses assets other people made.
He used volunteers for: Character animations Models and art assets Voice Acting Music and sound design Probably making the UI Concept Art Texturing Apparently help with programming even And more. Here's a link to the wikia page and it has a lot of info on there about the volunteers. He has at least *45* active volunteers right now. yandere-simulator.fandom.com/wiki/Volunteers And he's heard of temporary assets, but it seems like a lot of them are still in the game. So that's neither here nor there.
@Feedme , yeah it's just another calling card of him being a shit human being. Gets people to work on his game for FREE, meaning they do it in their spare time, and then he blames all the games problems on "slow and lazy volunteers". Ironic considering that he's the one that gets paid to work on it, but the volunteers are far and away doing much much more work than he ever does. I don't know how those volunteers continue to work for him knowing he threw them under the bus like that.
can we talk about how the school map is clearly just a camera over the school and not a png or something it lagged the shit out of my game when i opened it
@@meatloafer2762 I low-detail LOD of the school from the top-down is a robust solution that doesn't lag the game the f*ck out. He won't do that because it takes programming work. You could literally render the scene (camera above school, despawn all characters,) and save it on-disk as a hack, and it wouldn't lag the game.
See, but it worked when WNM did it because it COULD have functioned as a 2-D version of the game, but that map, if I recall, was only a camera that cover the general area of the main character, aka the focus, so in turn it didn't lag out the entire game (I don't think it did, anyway) because it isn't showing you the entire from two different cameras at the same time. At least, that's my guess. I don't know D about coding and rendering and all that.
I still think it’s hilarious that osana is supposed to be the first and EASIEST rival to eliminate but yandere dev gave her a fucking ninja for a bodyguard who almost never leaves osana, yeah very very easy
I think it would make more sense if she was one of the last rivals. Osana and senpai's sister are the closest ones to him, so it would make sense that they would be the most difficult to eliminate because they spend most of their time with Senpai. But, why are a delinquent, two adult groomers, the school president who has 4 bodyguards in a school, a diva, a baker and a crazy emo more difficult that...senpai's best f***ing friend
Because yandev doesnt use actual common sense and emotion in his game. He doesnt consider any of them anything more than anime tropes and he sees nothing beyond that. Osana isnt senpais best friend since he was a child and someone whos close to him, shes just a trope @tomascaro5224
right? i honestly think the easiest rival should just be another girl who also has a crush but no actual ties and we slowly work up to his inner circle, and eventually his sister. but instead of like incest or whatever it should be that yandere girlie is delusional and thinks that she needs to remove every girl that looks at him because she can be the only one or something
@@noname-gh1vr but yet he wants the game to be taken seriously. There's several pieces of media out there that have taken common anime tropes and then flipped them on their head, like Evangelion or Doki Doki Literature Club. Asuka was portrayed as a mean tsundere love interest but taking that trope realistically showcases how you kind of don't want that kind of relationship. Sayori was portrayed as a happy-go-lucky girl but nearly every quirk of hers was a symptom of depression. It _can_ be done but you kind of have to be good at writing to do it.
Sometimes I wonder if the reason he doesn’t have a female Senpai is because Senpai is just a self insert for himself because he wants a universe where so many girls are into him, one willing to kill others for him, and having someone that isn’t meant to be him be the subject of obsession hurts his feels and ruins his fantasy. This is obviously a massive reach that I did not stretch before, but I wonder sometimes lol
I've seen it said that it's actually Yandere-chan that's his self-insert, but I don't remember who said that and what their evidence was, so take it as a pinch of salt.
Good replacement for panty shots: gossip. You can talk to people and slowly build reputation points as well. Once you talk to people it slowly speeds up time and you get gossip. The longer you gossip with them, the more favors info chan owes you. You report that gossip to Info Chan then boom. You get better character dialogue, character development, info chan owes you a scheme, and time slowly passes so you can skip to the end of the day. *edit* this was just a suggestion I made for fun, if you dont like my ideas, ignore them. Thank you and have a nice day.
Gossip...that or stealing items..like maybe idk...the tech club little bit thing..or some creations..or sneaking into falculty to get maybe a confiscated item?
I just realized something: what if, instead, the tree wasn’t behind the school but in the middle of their town? And the myth was to confess your feelings on a Saturday instead? That way, you can use the week to 1. build up a relationship with Osana and either matchmake her with someone else, gain her trust and kill her in her home on Saturday or, if you need extra time, make her busy during the day so she has to confess the next weekend, or 2. Build up your skills during the week, find out info about Osana and either blackmail her or find out where she lives so you can sneak into her house and kill her, maybe finding specific allergies or if she’s superstitious (which would work perfectly for Oka later in the game) so you can convince her that it’s a bad idea? And during the week you can do the sabotaging Osanas relationship with senpai if you want to, and maybe get closer to senpai in the process? This could also make for an interesting aspect so that in the beginning you can’t do anything suspicious around senpai, but as the weeks go on you become more relaxed around him and he might catch you doing something sus. This would make the game harder as, if you do something sus Senpai might realize what you did and not want to be with you but also make it so it’s natural you end up with him since you’re closer to him emotionally and not a fumbling idiot when he’s around. This would make the week prep time where you can’t kill Osana because of the risks, and it makes for different outcomes, as if you haven’t prepared in the slightest it’s harder to eliminate Osana whilst if you’ve spent the week upping your stats and getting closer to senpai and her (or just getting closer to senpai and getting to know her weaknesses), it’s more likely you can eliminate her and get with senpai in the end. Also, this would make it so that if you don’t try to get close to senpai during the game you’ll end up heartbroken in the end. Maybe then it’s time for snapmode, and you’ll only succeed in it if you’ve layed out the groundwork correctly (such as upping certain stats).
Feedme , it’s sad that this is probably true Edit: I don’t know if you all were serious about me actually making this a game BUT I’ve started thinking about maybe actually doing this when I have the money and started working on some ideas for rivals. I’m not doing it with Japanese names and culture though since I know almost nothing about that and will instead make it with Swedish influences since I’m from here :) I also wouldn’t be making the code and hiring people that actually have experience and I’m a minor right now so can’t exactly do that lol But that does give me a few years if I actually do this. Maybe I’ll update this in a few years and see if I’m still thinking about doing this. Thank you all for the nice comments!♥️
Ultra egotripping is the answer. The TB Dev managed to fix the biggest technical issues of the game (awful loading times and bad framerates) by porting the game within a couple weeks(!) all the while refactoring big chunks of the code to the point of YanDev being unable to comprehend the lines.
@@Pr0manStream he is extremely insecure or even worse than that, what will you waste if you just admit that you dont get it or you dont understand? what a shitty fucking ego what a fucking idiot
He also blackmailed them. He assumed they could automatically get his game unbanned from twitch, but twitch wasn’t budging until it was finished. Which was impossible for TB to deliver in the time Alex wanted from them
@Throwaway_73 Oh, he absolutely could have gone that route, but he didn't. And why? Because his ungodly inflated ego prevented him from doing so. While yes, he cited being "unhappy with how alien the code felt" and that as an issue with TinyBuild, it felt like just a forwarded reason to not lose face in public, my suspicion is another one entirely - which actually makes quite a lot of sense when you remember what kind of person Alex is. Namely that this would have been a show of defeat, as one of the biggest criticisms at the time was his low work output as well as his horrendous understanding of programming. If someone else came along and fixed the 2 biggest performance issues the game had *for years* in the timespan of just a couple weeks, then that would've just shown the levels of incompetence that Alex displays, so he took it to break the contract instead.
@@Pr0manStream Panty-Shots!! They were only mentioned in this video as for they are, but i wanna say that Pop Culture Detectives Videos on ‚Peeping-Toms’ as well as some of Hbomberguys and Emkays Videos are really diving into all this and raise much-needed Awareness.
Id like to remind everyone that the game Stardew valley, was developed by ONE person. ConcernedApe didnt take volunteers or anything like yanderedev did. They worked on it solo, and got it published. It is a wonderful game and a great example of how someone actually passionate about their game can do better than someone just shitting some code for profit.
It's just funny to me how, according to Yandev, his game is going to merge Hitman and Persona, games who took hundreds of people to make them, and merge them in an even more complex game by himself. Any competent developer would just understand the scale of such a project it is and not even try
It's because Yandere dev doesn't have a vision, and if he ever did he lost it a long time ago. He couldn't make up his mind about what he wanted the game to be, now it's just a mess. I don't know how he gets support when so many in the same situation have done better with less, and in less time. It's a disgrace to call him Yandere "Dev", his real title should be Yandere "Scam artist".
Yandere dev should have made it to where she's really strong, but kinda dumb, so that she fulfills her purpose of being a bodyguard while not being too hard to beat
I feel like instead of panty shots info chan could’ve asked for photos of students doing embarrassing things, like falling ( ex: pink haired dude ) or I don’t know, cheating on their boyfriend ( one of the bullies ). That would’ve been more suitable for blackmail than a random panty shot that doesn’t have any identification.
What you’re describing is the Bounty System which was implemented years ago… and remains alongside the Panty Shot System 🤦🏼♀️ This really was a fetish game in disguise. Why was I so stupid?
@@Kairos_Akuma once again, that is a system that was already implemented into the game years ago. Heck, it might even be twice as old as the Bounty System, if my memory isn’t too bad. It is entirely necessary and CLEARLY superior to ALL the alternatives 🙄🙄🙄
Remember that InfoChan does not want the panty shots for blackmail but to sell them to the male students in exchange of money. Thats her business. It is explained in the original introduction YD made for the game in its beginning. But yeah, I still prefer your idea lol
Scooby doobeedoo but japanized...ngl its cringe, if it was done intentionally A lot of the characters just have japanized name, like naasu(nurse), oka ruuto (occult) etc etc
I decided to download the demo and... 1. Sometimes you can't pick up things for no reason. 2. Characters spin in circles after their events. 3. Shadows make the framerate go down from a 50-60 to 8-12 4. If you kill someone, their blood will float in the air, making you unable to clean it. 5. The game (or rather Alex) really wants you to take panty shots. If you don't use the internet for guides you can't play without using them for most of the time. 6. Raibaru is literally a band aid fix. It won't be easy to kill Osana if you give her an invincible friend who you can't defeat using any methods that have been in the game for 6 years. I'd write more but to be honest, recalling my experiences with this 'game' makes me dizzy.
YandereDev: Takes 6 years to release a shitty demo Scott Cawthon: In 6 years, he went from a Indie Game made by one man to a franchise so big, the next game was announced on the PS5 as a launch title. PS: To everyone who looks down upon Scott because of the recent controversy: No matter what your opinion is of him, he still is a better developer than Yanderedev, and was one of the better indie creators in the last years.
Wait, Security Breach is a launch title? This wasnt in the reveal trailer for the PS5 version. I think the nurse might be a rival because senpai has a crush on her. However I really dislike Rana and adult rivals in general. They could have made them older students, or maybe the teacher loves senpai in a platonic way, by noticing that a lot of girls close to him keep disappearing . Nope nothing so cool, only weird fetishes
A fan said that Osana actually only took 1 year and he was using the 5 years to make the other stuff. That doesn’t change the fact that it took Osana 6 years to be implemented Update: So according to YandereDev, he spent 6 months working on Osana divided into 3 years. Even so, it still took him 3 years to work on Osana.
It made me annoyed how he said one of the reasons it took so long was because volunteers took a while. Not sure if it was meant to sound so un grateful, but it annoyed me so much how he seemed like he was mad that the people who gave him their work for free didn’t do it “fast enough”
That doesn’t change the fact either that it took him 1 year to implement 1 rival, meaning if he continues at that speed, it could take up to or even more than 9 years to implement the other rivals, thereby meaning the game would take 15 years (plus the starting 5 years) in total to complete, minus any inevitable quarrels in between.
This is a month late but seriously, after being reminded of Kokona, he really could have just kept her in the game as the ‘first rival’ then had Senpais best friend be the ‘second’ a lot less work to deal with sense she was already a fully implemented asset with a routine, multiple elimination methods, voice acting and ending.

I had a friend play Yan Sim for the first time. This was their first encounter with anything Yan-Sim related, so they're unbiased. I didn't tell them if it was good or bad, what to expect, etc. I just asked them for their opinion on it. They said it was okay for a beginning demo but that it needed a long way to go with all the bugs. They thought that panty currency was gross, the way the students arrived in clubs was weird (like why don't they go with friends? what's with the weird V shape and single-file lines??) etc. So there you go, Yan Sim simps. An unbiased casual gamer gave their honest opinion of it and said it was fine ***for a beginning***, but were literally speechless when I told them that was the result of 6 years of work. Like, they said it would be okay for a game that was made in a few months. But over a year? ***6 years???***
I still like the game idea but your friend is right, it's taken too long. I hope he hands it off to a company and I hope the final game shows the characters looking like adults instead of them looking like young teenagers. It says they're supposed to be 18 and older.

Honestly, I think yandere dev should have embraced the fact that osana can be killed quickly. She is the first rival, and a new player may not be able to kill her quickly, but an experienced one should be able to. I mean, her bodyguard is unnecessary, since someone who hasn't played the game before still wouldn't be able to kill her without some effort. A later rival, sure, maybe have a person who is their best friend who is in the martial arts club that whoops your ass. But it sounds stupid for the first rival to have that much difficulty, because what will the later rivals be like then?
i played the "official game" (1980's mode) and here are some absolute gems: - you can complete the game with an S rating no matter what (even if so many people have seen you commit murder) if you have a high reputation. you can get a high reputation by setting your conversation topic to "i dislike violence" and spamming the talk button in the front of the school every morning while all the students walk in. the idea of the most popular student in school screaming I HATE VIOLENCE to every person who walks by them is fucking insane and hilarious. this 'game' was not balanced in any way, shape or form. - the game did not load walls, students or props unless I was directly beside them. i could not see more than two feet in front of me, which honestly was the only hard part of the whole experience - the music and 1980's aesthetic were the only good part about the game (the 1980's tracks go rlly hard) - i played it all in one day, and did not enjoy even a second of it
Ayano: *takes out soap box and stands on it in the middle of everyone walking to school* "I HATE VIOLENCE!!!!!!!" Everyone else: *clapping* *Reputation has increased to 100*
I would say that the tutorial is somewhat nice atleast for me personally it got really boring after the first rival, on my last rival (can’t even remember their names bc they are so unmemorable and boring) the game completely broke and I just didn’t even bother eliminating the rival, overall the ending was just unsatisfying and boring but definitely agree on the aesthetic aspect of it the trailer for 1980s mode genuinely looks really good same goes for the soundtrack and especially the song that one of the rivals sings
Shouldn’t the reputation logically tank then? If you scream that you hate violence to everybody in the front of the school during the mornings and then murder people publicly, you’re not only a murderer, but also a liar/hypocrite. And I know lying is nothing compared to murder, but it’s not like it’ll help with the reputation situation.
Bit late to this, buuut... I checked out some of the tracks and they admittedly are very well done. I looked further to see that it's not done by Yandere Dev (duh, right?), it's done by some other guy that Yandere Dev commissions music from. Unfortunately, I unintentionally found that same guy in the comment section of a video by Markiplier where he's playing Saiko no Sutoka in which he said he really wanted Mark to return to playing Yandere Simulator. People naturally asked him why the hell would he want him to do that with Yandere Dev's reputation and how shit the game is and he proceeded to obfuscate the criticisms. It seems like the people who are still helping him develop the game are deluded too, which is a shame because he's clearly wasting his talents.
I just went into the comment section for his 'demo release' video, and I'm actually in shock by how positive the comments are. I forgot that he still does have a fanbase who supports him, and also forgot that he deletes any comment that has mild criticism because he deems it 'harassment'. It was a shock.
The fact that the students dont even walk outside of a straight line makes me irrationally mad lmao he’s not even trying to make it look like a good game
I'm just saying, for someone who says Persona is a main influence for the game, he understands absolutely nothing about Persona. Especially if the game allows you to skip a week if you kill Osana. If you could skip straight to the next story beat in, say, Persona 5 that would actually hurt your progress because in that time you could explore Mementos, gain ranks in your confidants, or increase your stats. There is literally always something to do that will help with your progress in the game itself. I can only assume his "Persona is an influence" is just "It looks like anime."
Yeah those days could be used to make friends or build on your social stats. If you could skip the days, then those mechanics wouldn’t need to be there.
persona has always been a game with a well crafted story and characters who feel somewhat real and have realistic arcs, even the early games (persona 1 and 2) have these features and later games also implement a healthy balance of a social life with the combat area of the game this is something yandere sim fails to do, the characters are 2d references to other anime (which makes them hard to see as real characters) and there is little to no social life in the game, even the combat manages to be unfulfilling because of how the answers and methods are told to you rather than you figuring it out
yeah shouldn’t she be the hardest, she’s always around him and it’ll be harder for him to hate her cause yknow they’re best friends (other than the little sister of course)
Mhm, if Osana was killed, Senpai would probably be depressed. I think if the sister or Osana dies, it should be an instant game over due to senpai being depressed
@@moonrya this! i find it so weird that his sister is a rival, since the only realistic way you could get rid of her is via matchmaking. if you did anything else, taro wouldnt just hop into a relationship with ayano a few weeks after, it would impact his mental health too much. losing a friend each week is already gonna affect him, but his own sister? he would most likely take his own life, resulting in an instant game over.
@@lxxifxrr The “losing a friend each week” could be explained away with Yandere-chan catching girls who express an interest in senpai and killing them before they get to talk to him. The only characters with a pre-established history with Senpai are Osana and the sister. However, I’ll bet my left kidney that YanDev wouldn’t think to do that. And I’ll bet my right kidney that he won’t even finish the game for this to be an issue.
Why does he need a Kickstarter when he's literally made T H O U S A N D S of dollars from other sources. Where did all that money go eh? Definitely not on the volunteers cuz he doesnt pay them.
Also I just want to say the first rival being childhood friend is a bit weird. I think the closer the person is to Senpai, the worse consequences should be.
the fact that some random pedo teacher is the seventh rival, and yet a whole ass childhood friend who he actually had feelings on is the first one speaks volumes. clearly out beloved devpai knows nothing about women, or even having friends
nah he wouldn't make her catch bullets, that's too silly. But he can say she would be able to dodge em since "she's such an amazing fighter that her instincts would kick and and let her avoid them"
Better Raibaru has the power to controls guns and make them missing shoot Fun fact : there is a book in wich a character has this "power". The fun part, honwewer, is that the gun thing is joke cause the caracther is so scary that even guns don't dare to shoot himm
Catch bullets? Pfft, nah, that's kinda lame. If you try to shoot Rival, she'll definitely deflect the bullets back to you and instantly give you game over.
I'll never understand why he didn't just use Kokona as the demo rival. She already had most (if not all) of her elimination methods programmed and even had a backstory. YandereDev would probably say "but the rival video was already released and Kokona wasn't on it, people will get angry" or some bullshit like that, but there's an easy excuse for that. Just say "this is just a demo, I don't want to spoil the actual first rival's story and have people know how to eliminate her when the full game is launched, so Kokona will be the rival for the demo"
I don't understand why Kokona isn't the first rival. YanDev (and his team of unpaid slaves) worked so hard on her, and she's pretty much finished and working. Why throw all that work out of the window?
@@FreakyOverhaul yandev has a team of volunteers working for him, the only thing yandev actually does is code/"plan" things for the game. kokona should've been the first rival because so much effort was put into her, hell they even gave her a god damn backstory with her dad being a loan shark and her having to go on dates with older men to make money. the fact that so much effort was put into kokona (programming, art, models, animations, voice acting, dialogue, backstory) and all she was was just a test dummy is pretty stupid. if she was just going to be a test dummy, why even put so much effort into her in the first place?
@@FreakyOverhaulIt's a shame they didn't make her relevant in any way. Like she flirts with Senpai a few times or studies with him. Doesn't have to be anything complex. That way all the work they put in wouldn't be for nothing and there would be another rival. Why put in all that time and effort for a test dummy?
@nejdalej what's even more bullshit is that she had a proper routine, elimination methods, voice acting, animations,an actual questline and a good story to demonstrate that ayano is willing to go very far to get what she wants(the kidnap musume route),just for all of it to be thrown out the window
YandereDev logic is like mixing chicken nuggets, ice cream, and apples into a blender, and calling it good because chicken nuggets, ice cream, and apples taste good normally.

I’ve been looking through comments and such, I haven’t seen anyone bring up the fact that Japanese people don’t call or introduce themselves with honorifics. It’s the same as saying, “my name is mister Alex”. In Japanese, and done by someone who doesn’t know Japanese, it would be, “my name is Alex-san,” which is completely wrong. Honorifics are used by other people, we don’t use them on ourselves, that’s stupid. I see a lot of people who do no research on Japanese use honorifics on themselves and it’s really funny to me because it shows a complete lack of understanding of a different language when it can be googled in two seconds. Edit: grammar mistakes fixed because I suck ass at English. Also, want to add, yeah, Alex is not going to listen to me, hell, he doesn't listen to anyone who dares give him criticism, so I'm not surprised in the slightest. I am, however, going to bring up a quote just in case someone wants to defend him about his characters using honorifics on themselves. "You must never present yourself with an honorific suffix (San さん, Kun 君, Chan ちゃん, Sama 様, Dono 殿) since this comes across as being incredibly pretentious and arrogant. It's considered very rude in Japan to show off or boast, after all. " Have fun.
What do you expect on the same guy who uses google translate to name his character or doesn't even bother to use the yen as a money currency? Even as a weeb, Yandev is so lazy and incompetent in being one, lmao
@@cosafea8722 He's so lazy, he can't even be bothered to multiply his prices by 100 and slap a ¥ on the front. (Yes, I know $1 USD is not exactly ¥100, but it's close enough that most people can let it slide.)

Players should be given vague hints about schemes via overheard conversations which is already implemented, that then get added to a notebook from Ayano's POV. Electrocution scheme: "Why can't we use the bathroom on the second floor?" "Oh, one of the switches is busted. Didn't you see the sign?" The notebook: "A lightswitch in the second floor bathroom is broken. Maybe I can move the sign?" For the crushing, in the gym, NPCs are lifting weights. "Man, these things aren't heavy at all." "You're saying that because you're not the one who has to put them away..." "Carry them more often and it'll be a breeze!" "Or you could just help me?" "Nah, I'm good." This hints how to train strength whilst having a semi humorous tone and a slightly natural pace, and also hints that you need several dumbells as well as how to carry them. Then NPC 2 carries the weights away. You can follow them discreetly to see where they are stored. NPC 2 struggles very visibly to carry the weights. The notebook can say: "Dumbells and a high place. Reminds me of old cartoons." as a reference to shows like Tom and Jerry or Looney Toons, where that kind of thing is common. If not enough, you could buy a hint that adds extra lines to the notebook. The title of the notebook additions would be the name of the scheme, as to hint what you're meant to do. That would be much more fun, and give so much more life to the game.
This is so much better from a game design stand point: You can even piece together things without the journal function (they're joking about storing the dumbbells, so they'll store them later, if you follow the student you'll get the location) but the journal helps you put two and two together without being obvious Because those conversations happen organically though, you'd need to have an incentive to actually explore the school lol But what a cool idea you just had, reminds me a lot of how quests work in morrowind (completely different game genre but still); there's this one where you need to collect a debt and the guy is all shifty, there's no money in his house either, but the locals say he likes swimming by X's house and when you go to the water there's a chest with the debt money Maybe Alex just assumes everyone is as brain dead as him
I think that there used to be an idea for a tutorial, where Kokona asks you to help with a play about a serial killer. Instead of that, we got text boxes.
Scheme tutorial: Concept= play in which you pretend to kill Kokona, with props and Ayano actually practicing the gestures. Demo= watching diet Death Note (Because, let's face it, Tsugumi Ôba would find a way to actually make a Death Note if they saw how silly that parody was.)
@@NWolfsson In death note, the dry, very clear cut rules and large amount of text at least makes sense - you, as the reader, are in Light's eyes literally reading an instruction manual and the manga temporarily is basically the death note you're reading. It's actually kinda smart. Chalex just sucks at everything in life so he made enormous amounts of text mandatory. It's already bad that games nowadays have such hand-holdy tutorials "integrated into gameplay for immersion" instead of making them optional or just a little textbox explaining it quick and to the point, but doing the worst of both worlds by having it be completely mandatory and lengthy while destroying immersion by having textboxes pop up... ugh.
You know what the saddest part is? The music in Yandere Simulator is almost entirely made by Clevelandrock. Cleveland just pulled out and is getting all of his tracks removed from the game because of the DID controversy. Whoops.
@@Saythe what a shitty fake story, it gives me the 2000' vibe where a Nigerian prince wants to give you his life savings and all you need to do is insert your credit card information
What I really do not get, is how he believes he's going to be able to hand off this project to anyone IF he gets the money on Kickstarter. After the TinyBuild incident, who's going to take him seriously? And with his demo as a presentation? And his reputation? Are you kidding? Who in their right minds would want to touch this thing at this point?
I can see some studios making the same mistake as TinyBuild and try to work with him because... well... money. But the guy is so unsympathetic and deaf to criticism that they will probably give up on him.... just like TinyBuild did.
@@colibri224 The funny thing is Tiny Box is great with small game developers and the worst thing is if the game is ever finished it will be decades from the demos finish and no one will really care for it by then.
i think Alex is a horrible game developer, he seems like horrible person too. I think Yandere simulator is a good game concept, but i don’t think the game needed 6 years for one rival.
I honestly think if the game was set in a University (could even make it so they wear uniforms for lore reasons) and allowed for at least some freedom of the Hitman games, it would be a hit game. Of course, it would be needed to be developed by a competent development team (since you know, Hitman had 100+ devs on it, Persona 5 200+) and levels would need to be designed to allow actual freedom on how the player completes the objectives.
@@NewbOoyNS that would be cool but not from yandere dev he builds a high school and introduces one rival in 6 years 😭 hes horrible i think a game company could definitely make ur idea
That's why when I was younger I was a HUGE fan of the game. As a dumb kid who only watched Alex's UA-cam videos, I loved the concept and had never seen a game where you could really do what you wanted, and everything that happened was prompted by you, and you could approach it any way you like with almost endless possibility. We all know that's not what the game is, but that's what young me thought it was. That was how the game was presented. And when you say it like that, it sounds like a really good game! I just wish there was A) more devs and B) the creator wasn't a pedo who refuses help and practically steals money from impressionable kids like younger me. If my parents let me, I would have given him money. And that's what he relies on.
i genuinely think that's the worst part. Young people fall in his lies, so many young people. It got me when the game started to became popular, i'm not an english native and it fooled so much because of the premising that somehow it got to spanish speakers too. Now all of the real deal with alex started to discover, although only with the english people. I grow up, i learned and managed to speak english, i still was active in the development of the game until i saw the videos exposing him. But what about all those people who doesn't have a clue with that? my sister wouldn't realize if i didn't tell her, that's just really fucked up. So many people still trusting that somehow everything's perfect in the game and his developer isn't a nasty man who only does this to buy adult toys so he can fulfill his fetishes.
So much of his info-dump problems could be solved by the character he put *into* the game to solve that problem, Info-Chan. She can easily be the soft guide through the game, the ‘intended’ path that players can either follow or ignore. Those elimination methods could be implemented like text messages. Yan’s like: I’ve been doin favors for you, help me kill this girl Info: cool, how would you like? Yan: how about drowning? Info: alright, [insert kinda vague step one here, like there’s a weight in the gym tell me if you can lift it] etc, etc. An experienced/clever player could rely on their own knowledge/intelligence and ignore her, but a new/casual player could easily follow along, but with just enough vagueness that they think they were more instrumental than they probably were. I even thought of an ‘intro’ to the game: help info-Chan gather, you know, info. (Preferably in a few days before the main conflict starts, so the player isn’t literally thrown into the water blind). Stuff like: -Day one: Go place bugs around the school (teaching the player important locations and the general layout of the school) -Day two: Stalk some random person (preferably literally random) and report to info about what their schedule is like. (Teaching the player how to learn someone’s movements) -Day 3: gathering stuff for her, be it physical or information, I.e. blackmail. (Teaching the player how to work the social game and/or stealth) -Day 4: idk, she asks you to go into town and do something to someone. Leaving the option up to the player on how to accomplish the task: stealthily, loud, kidnapping them. -Day 5: Info’s like “hey do this one last thing for me and I’ll trust you”. Importantly on the day the player will start noticing Osana hanging out with Senpai more. -Day 6: info’s like “txt me if you need anything... partner”, leaving the player to have a free day. Probably to follow(stalk) Osana, and to better learn the base school schedule. A calm before the storm. Then the game actually starts with Yan pledging herself to rid any girl from senpai. Maybe info sending a picture of the two, then promising if Yan keeps getting her info she’ll keep helping her keep senpai. I’ve clearly thought about this for longer than Yan-Dev, and I’ve only been thinking about this for the hour of the video plus about twenty minutes. As much as I can commend Alex for, you know, actually making the damn thing (much more than me atm Q_Q), he’s put so little thought and work into this ‘game’ It’s actually sad. It clearly started as a fetish project (which can sometimes be a good starting point), but it never really evolved past that. A game about a psycho-murderer highschooler killing her rivals to steal the affection from the only man she will ever love... could be pretty cool. Right now it’s a weird microcosm of half-baked, half-implemented ideas. It’s literally just his sandbox, and he’s getting mad you’re criticizing his shitty sandcastle.
I thought it would have been more interesting than having a pedophilic teacher is to have her as Taro's favorite teacher who he has a very close but platonic relationship - like how she might look out for him and help him out with no ulterior motives - which would give the player the oppotunity to frame her as a predator and get her arrested as an elimination technique.
I agree. It’d further cement the protagonist as a monster, and kinda keeps the creepiness at bay (Even though this game is already creepy enough with the P-shots). To avoid confusion, I’ll be up-front that this next question is not sarcastic or demeaning in any way, only asked out of genuine curiosity; Since every rival needs to be eliminated within a week (the classmate rivals using that tree rumor for theirs), what would the reason be for the deadline of your idea of the substitute teacher?
@@JJ_R I think she would become more of a threat and more of a focus towards the end, where she comforts and becomes closer to Taro (as an parental figure ofc, no weird shit lol) as his sanity slowly deteriorates due to the deaths and expulsions of the people around him. I think this could incite the player to focus on her, and it could invite them to use more stealth mechanics. I think the deadline would be caused by the player discovering her wanting to get Taro to change schools, and maybe if the player is able to obtain a copy of her schedule they can learn she will be substituting one of his classes at the end of Friday, in which she plans on bringing it up to him and taking him to the principal to discuss it after school.
@@satan3034 Good idea! The deadline thing would likely be found out by Info-chan. This elimination method you described fits in line with the player sabotaging their meetings together, so my next question is; what would your ideal substitute teacher’s _unique_ elimination method be.
@@JJ_R I think it would be the “framing her as a pedophile” to the other members of the faculty/the police. Since like you said it would take away the general creepiness of the original teacher and solidify how terrible of a person Ayano is. It would be pretty effective as that would permanently tarnish her career as a teacher, and maybe we could even see Taro’s family filing a restraining order against her, cutting her permanently out of his life.
@@satan3034 It’s nice to talk to someone about fan ideas for alterations behind this “game’s” (In quotes because it’s not released… _yet)_ plot, in a non-antagonistic way. While we’re on this subject, since this idea of a teacher is *not* a creep, then next major difference would be the “Match-making Elimination Method”. Since this teacher won’t be going after students, how would we be able to match this teacher up with another adult? She’s a respectable instructor, so I doubt she’d go for another teacher (whether or not she’s into women, since there are only women teachers (not counting the principle) in the school). I look forward to your answer.
I think Alex originally made this as a passion project, then realized he got a huge following for this basic concept and gained too much of a ego from it. He denies critisims and negative thoughts because it ecos his own. He blames others because he doesn't have the courage to blame himself. He is a man child with the expectation to be an adult and will not accept anything else. What I'm surprised with is how interesting Yandere Sim's Development is. Any other indie game and it would be forgotten 5 years ago, but for some reason people in droves support him still and can't see past his lazy development and psychotic mind set along with pedophilic tones. I wonder how much longer until he just releases the game as-is or just cancels it all together. And what will be the end result of his terrible cycle of development?
@@ghakfjkstjajdjd1811 Naw, I meant like it started as one. But after the big ego boost from becoming a huge hit he just fell into this limbo of being spoiled and having a big ego. I think this became more of his fantasy outlet he would occasionally go into and fuck around in rather than a actual project.
I heard that he stole the idea from someone, here's the story: anonymous person: heyya sooo i have a concept of a yandere game where you kill others for your senapi! other people on 4C: woow thats cool! alex: hmm, i could make money off of that..
I still don't know how it makes any sense in Alex's mind to have Osana, a normal high schooler and the FIRST RIVAL, i.e. the TUTORIAL RIVAL, have a bodyguard. Like, wouldn't that a feature with, oh, I don't know, Osoro and Megami? Because it makes narrative sense for them to have people around them at all times? Then again this is Alex.
@Michael Brody By your logic, the level of difficulty increases with the number of bodyguards. The last rival will have more bodyguards than Michael Jackson. 🤣
@Michael Brody, if you don't like criticism of the developer you simp for and his stupid procrastination project, then ignore the criticism and stop harassing people
It makes much more sense for Megami to have more people around her. She’s the student council president and is obviously highly regarded in school. Also isn’t she the daughter of the man who pretty much funds the school? She’s like the daughter of a famous businessman.
I’m just going to predict the future: Fans don’t like the demo Yandere dev says he was “rushed” and that it is the fault of the fans and commentators that he put it out already. Because obviously we can’t expect him to be finished with the smallest rival after hinting her for 6 years.
i think it’s dumb that all the students come to school at the exact same time everyday. Like you’re telling me none of them overslept or at least has something in their schedule before school?
Yeah that ALWAYS PISSED ME OFF. And the fact they all walk in straight lines. Like who in the FUCK is going to meet up with their specific club AND ONLY THEIR CLUB at 7:30 in the fucking morning just to walk into school with them IN LINES. I get meeting your friends but holy Jesus. Also the "unique character model" crap is bullshit cus every single student looks exactly the same as everyone else in their club like wtf. Why does this club all have blonde hair? Why does this club wear their taekwondo ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY! and last but not least why the fuck is nobody late like REALLY. as the kid who legit came to class late so often that people thought I was sick if I came on time~oh wait Ps: I didn't expect to get so heated I guess it really did bother me for a long time LOL
I guess Japanese people are incredibly disciplined compared to anywhere else. There is one student who happens to be late (a red hair guy, forget the name) where you could crush his head with a gate, and the delinquents seems to prefer being late, but I guess I shouldn't be really surprised.
@@emanueltheodorus1056 i mean, true, but then again, i think its kinda weird most arrive at the same time, like maybe some are 2-3 mins later wouldve been more realistic, also its bc their walking animation feels like they’re in the military or sth
same man, ive watched the second video way too many times because its good but also because for some reason I latched onto it while I was spiraling? and now I have it basically memorized and im kind of okay with that
Honestly I prefer having a 2+hr vid instead of a short 40 mins, I'm too lazy to think on what to watch so having a long video is better (mostly since I play them in the background while I draw/play videogames)
Here's what I don't get, that I haven't seen anyone address: Alex says he needs money to hire professionals, which includes programmers that have more experience than him. BUT in the past, when a more experienced programmer fixed the game's code (See; the tinybuild incident) , he didn't accept it. He scrapped the whole thing and dismissed the programmer and the studio that provided them. Because the code was too advanced for him and he didn't understand it. SO HOW DO WE KNOW THIS ISN'T THE EXACT SAME THING THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN, IF HE GETS THAT KICKSTARTER MONEY? DOES HE JUST WANT TO SHIP A GAME WITH CODE THAT ISN'T ON A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL? Is the game only allowed to have code that HE understands? Doesn't that sound very counter intuitive? I don't get him, he says time and time again that his coding isn't up to par for what the game needs, but when someone improves the code he just doesn't accept it???
the only way anything actually professional will ever get done on this game is if someone else takes charge of the project. as long as alex is at the helm, it's all garbage spaghetti code, stolen assets, and nonsense gameplay and implementation. it's never going to be a finished game, because he's trapped himself with it and he's incompetent but refuses to take any actual criticism. it's sewage all the way down babey
@Michael Brody You're mad because people are annoyed someone made a game with trash code, bought or stolen assets, can't take criticism and bans people from the reddit or discord if they do, and had been working on the game for 6 years which if you compare that 6 years to how long the first fnaf game came around and (2014 which is the same time as yandere simulator became in development) has 7 games made since then and working on a 8th is just sad on yandere devs part.
He has made thousands of dollars off of Patreon. He asks for 2-3 thousand a month to "focus only on the game" etc. Why does he even NEED a Kickstarter? He never mentions all that Patreon money in his videos either. Probably because once people find out about it, they are revolted by it, & stop being fans.
At this point, Yandev should just scrap everything The story, the rivals, etc And just make it a funny sandbox game. Keep all the wacky elimination methods, the stay away from senpai and don’t get caught, etc And keep it that way. Because let’s be honest, the only time Yandere Simulator was fun and at it’s peak, was when it didn’t really matter who you killed, you could kill anyone in anyway you want! No rivals to focus on, just running around killing no one specific with any method you wished with-ought getting caught.
Yeah I was considering getting the game for that reason but now seeing it’s just another generic “kill this person exactly this way” game? I’m gonna pass-
That's the thing though, he can't, he takes himself far to seriously. He honestly thinks every idea he has is brilliant and anyone how can't see how much of a genius he is a idiot, he'll never improve or take criticism because he has such a huge ego.
He should just fucking delete the game, give everyone their money back, and delete it. It is straight up embarrasing that it's almost a decade since it started and we're not even close to a finished product and apparently he's still the same idiot who takes no criticism
@hello Pretty much. It grew in popularity when it was a memey sandbox. It's clear that Chalex always uses mission stories (probably turned the misson story guides up to full judging by his excessive scheme step descriptions) and nothing else. Likely will restart the map if anything doesn't work out perfectly, and considering how much he sucks at video games, that's a lot if he doesn't literally follow the guides. He probably even thinks that's how hitman's supposed to be played instead of letting the player do whatever they want, be it a super convoluted fancy kill where no one knows you exist, or kill half the map and limp out of an exit after a huge firefight. Hence why he literally gimps *any* way of removing Osana (the supposedly easiest rival) except using a scheme step by step. He apparently never understood that having to clean up the crime scene and return to the school alone are enough limiting factors to creativity.
Agreed, Yansim is honestly fun when you don't have a goal and get to run around killing random people after activating some memey cheat. That is the best this game will ever get
One of my biggest issues is that Yandere Simulator is very clearly a game being made by Alex specifically for Alex. This is why Raibaru is a thing and why Alex focuses on patching speedrunning tricks: because he doesn't like speedrunning and\or the "swiggity swooty, I'm coming for your booty" strats and he wants you to specifically play the game how he wants you to. I don't have a problem with games that force you to play a specific way, I think it's a valid design choice. Take Shadow of the Colossus for example. The game doesn't give you numerous ways to take out the Colossi. There's some wiggle room for different strategies but the challenge does come from figuring out the specific solution to taking on the Colossi. Another example is Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne where the game pretty much requires you to make use of buffs and debuffs as they have a massive effect on the game. In a game I look forward to called Lost Soul Aside, the developer has stated that he's a huge fan of hack/slash action games ala Devil May Cry, or Bayonetta. He's approaching the development of Lost Soul Aside as a fan of that kind of game to hopefully be one of the best of this genre. Where I have an issues with Alex on this is that he still created the mechanics that allows the strats he hates. He's created a copy of Hitman yet he constantly patches out or completely removed kill methods he doesn't want you to use even though improvising with your kills or just going for the kill in the middle of a crowd is one of Hitman's strengths. In Hitman, as long you can get out alive, anything goes. In Yandere Simulator, if you don't do one of Alex's methods, the game will find a way to pull you into a game over.
Also at least he could be way more creative to give you clues of what to do to eliminate Osana, but NAA, let's add a totally obvious clue at the start of each day for example when she talks about how she dreamt someone was pulling from her hair towards a pool!
honestly he's so inconsistent. he's got all these different methods for doing things and is like "you can do anything! you can kill your rivals in _aaaany_ way you want...you can even choose not to kill them and just try to deter them from senpai!" but then someone tries something inventive and he's like "oh wait you can't do that though!" like either let it be an open world game where you can do anything you want and kill (or not kill) your opponents in any way you can think of, or have it meant to be played in a specific way. you can't do both.
With smt nocturne, sure the game forces you to use buffs and debuffs, however the teaming is rather flexible. As long as you have a buffer/debuffers and an healer, you can use any demons with that combo
15:45 he could've just said she uses osana's phone to play games or something like i know it might sound a bit weird but I've seen it happen so 🤷♀️ God its so stupid to say she keeps her phone on silent so she can't be manipulated cause I keep my phone on silent but I still check my text messages...
Something like that would actually be plausible though, unlike her phone being on silent and she never checks it for some reason, even though she can be seen on it. Saying she plays games on someone else's phone makes it seem more realistic on a "humans do this thing sometimes" sorta level.
@Michael Brody Honey, chill. You're acting like they told you to preform unmentionable acts with a goat. All they're doing is expressing an opinion about a video game.
In the future I can’t wait to see an Internet Historian and/or Down the Rabbit Hole video about this train wreck. I can’t believe I used to be a fan of this game.
i feel like itd be a long while, youd honestly have to wait until the game was either released or officially cancelled and who knows how long thatll take
It embarrasses me so much that when I was in my early teens I'd be so excited to watch that creepy fuckers videos, I just hope the rest of his fans get a chance to understand how gross and ridiculous this shell of a game is
listen, we all used to be a fan of this game, but we're better know, we know better. there's no shame in ignorance, due to a lack of experience, all that matters is that we've moved passed it
I can understand people being fans before finding out the true yandev. Updates on a somewhat regular intervals, interacts with "fans" (because brainwashed is not truly fans imo), and the concept of a yandere highschooler going for her love and killing rivals, sounds like a dream or very interesting. So no shame in being interested or being a fan. I say only shame if you say that yandev is perfect and doesnt deserve some hate.
The Panty-Shot-System IS repulsive. I mean, do some people really think this is "just Satire" or somethin'?! C'mon, people. Youre not that dumb. C'mon. We already have enough normalizing shit, with even 'Using Lesbians for Marketing' being totally fine with modern UA-cam. We need less normalizing or however you want to call it. Less, not more. Also, related but other topic: We also need programming- classes in schools. So we have more good programmers. I mean, even if we say Programms running Life in major ways is just Sci-Fi (which is arguable), but even then, we still just need more good programmers. ...Why are Schools so lack-luster? I just heard yesterday someone lamenting he basically almost starved and failed in life, because school just did not teach him much about his current job NOR about doing taxes and such. Dont worry, that person is fine now - but not cause of always attending school, but cause he found a sensei. No kidding.
The "I'm just one person" excuse doesn't work for multiple reasons 1) he's not just 1 person, he has a whole team of volunteers. (who he doesn't pay yet he expects them to work like it's their job) 2) there are a ton of indie developers who's series started with 1 or 2 people teams who became ultra successful (Scott cawthon's series became so successful it became a launch title for ps5 with a toy line from funko pop, Toby fox got sans into smash and had a whole orchestra play his music, zun's series became a busy hub for fan anime, fanart, and fangames, and the list goes on and on for indie games that started off small then bloomed.) 3.) He shouldn't put all his time into streaming. Most of the indie developers who made it big put a ton of time per day into their respective series. Yanderedev should finish the game first then stream after it's *all* done. The dude shouldn't be spending people's money on 2 switches, a s*x doll, a v-tuber avatar, and a ton of other stuff that his poor fan's money wasn't intended for.
1. Who's zun? Sorry I just dont recognize them 2. His vtuber avatar is trash, I doubt he spent money on it, probably just ripped the model from somewhere and changed it a but...in general he needs to stop streaming so much. Or idk do streams where he works on his game
Dude prolly thinks he's the next Toby fox one man indie game making legend, completely forgetting the fact that fox's game has SOOOO much heart whereas yansim doesn't.
YanDev makes a million times more than Toby Fox did, and yet his voice actress Michaela Laws (Yandere-chan) is still not getting payed for her work. She also hires new voice actors and works on the game.
Wait, Michaela isn't getting paid? Jesus fucking christ, I feel so bad for her. I love Michaela's work and her game. (She has a game on Steam by the way, called Seduce Me The Otome, you should go check it out c:) I really hope she just quits at some point and leaves the main character without a VA. That should destroy Alex in some manner.
And imagine, having to make different scenes for everytime YanDev wanted to change the intro. She said she didn't want to be paid so that the money could be invested in the game but where is the money going though
@@star_is_a_potato Yeah, she said on one of her YanSim streams that she wasn't being paid. I think it was the one where she played with Pat Seymour(Budo's va)...?
I literally learned Japanese, graduated jr. high school, graduated high school, got a girlfriend (still strong), am on the cusp of graduating college, and would’ve been typing this comment in Japan (goddamn pandemic) in the time it took yanderedev to get this far.
When I first started watching him, I didn't even know English and had to watch translated versions to his updates. By the time it took him to even add osana, I fucking learned english
I'm not even gonna lie, Raibaru is probably the worst thing he slapped on to Osana like, she just games over you if you just wanna go the easy way I get she's like the former leader
shit, I sent send too early, but the fact she's the former leader of the martial arts club just makes it even more transparent to me that Yandev was trying to make an excuse to why she's pretty much OP unless you follow a specific method to kill Osana, it just feels like an artificial way to make Osana harder to kill
He begged so much in the "demo" for money. It was thrown in your face pretty much when anything happened. Didn't the befriend cutscene also have animations at one point he could have used in the demo?
It did. But that was for Kokona. By doing this, Alex unknowingly proved that it’s his own fault for Osana being delayed because it shows how he worked on implementing so many useless features that wouldn’t make it into the final game, thus taking time away from developing and releasing Osana.
@@primroseprom I thought so. He could've reused that animation again since Kokona and Osana are identical models with the same bones. Though i guess that'd mean he'd miss an ending where he could ask for more money instead. :/
Jake Daughrity-Johnson what do you expect from this greedy jerkass of a creep who steals models and shifts all feedback as "toxic people out to ruin his life by destroying the reputation of his horrid fetish game he "developed"
The demo is an absolute waste. No matter what you do, the eyerape urine yellow floor will burn off your retinas and characters are still blurred in conversation.
So one of the scemes requires a screwdriver for multiple things... so why does Yandev not give you the option of bringing one directly instead of having to find one... I mean in Hitman he ranted about not being able to start a mission with a screwdriver directly
@@seauqis what ACTUALLY happens is raiburu throws her phone in the toilets in the bathroom each day, then washes it off in the sinks to focus on protecting Osana . From then on, she tries to turn her phone on in her free time, hence her using her phone even tho the screen is dark. Because her phone is utterly destroyed, she says her phone is on silent bc the real reason is embarrassing and that's also why info Chan can't unmute it, bc it doesn't work. Then, at the end of each day, raiburu notices that her phone can't be fixed, she throws it away and buys a new one everyday. Oooobviouslyyy 🙄
Imagine getting yourself so deep into a hole to the point where the internet as a collective unit just goes "Oh yeah, that game and its dev? Yeah, they suck."
every time i watch a video about this game i remember watching a markiplier video where he walked up to a pink haired student and it showed that this dude had a character he straight up named 'mai waifu' and her only character trait was that she 'devoted her love to a game developer overseas' and i genuinely wonder how nobody saw how creepy that was
He holds the game hostage by saying "If you want to see this feature maybe making it into the game, *better pay up for that kickstarter!* " and that's so disgusting. I hope the kickstarter fails (and it will) and this game never comes out. Seeing how much of a horrible person Alex is, he totally deserves whatever bad happens with the game. Plus he's already taken enough money from people without giving back to them a respectable product.
Unfortunetaly i dont think it will fail, because there are a LOT of people who religiously follow this guy and would give him all of their money in a heartbeat
There's no way in hell he's doing that. I mean the guy has sold a fuckload of merchandise with Yandere-Chan's current design plastered on it. It's """""his""""" brand.
Hearing that Alex is just taking things he likes from anime/games/movies without recognizing how they work/why they work and just thinking it would be cool reminds me a lot of the writers for RWBY
At least RWBY has good fight scenes going for it, even if the rest of the show is... not that great. I'd be hard-pressed to find a similar redeeming quality about YanSim.
Other indie games: Omori: A beautiful story-driven RPG illustrating the process of healing from grief and trauma with multiple routes and endings, managing to be horrifying but still wholesome and even funny at times. In development from 2014-2020, and is fully complete. Undertale: A charming game about a human trying to save a species of monsters from false imprisonment, with a beautiful OST. In development 2013-2015 and is fully complete. Stardew Valley: A game where you inherit your grandpa’s farm and become part of a wonderful community with multiple play styles. In development 2012-2016 and is, get this, fully complete. Now look at Yandere Simulator: Technically the demo took less time than Omori (Yandere Sim demo released 8/31/2020 and Omori released 12/25/2020 and both started in 2014), but Omori is fully complete and all Yandere Sim has is pedophilia and loading screens taking more time than actually killing the rival, Alex spent 6 years developing elimination methods specifically for someone who WASN’T THE RIVAL (she should’ve been, I love Kokona), having the most boring and dislikable main characters I’ve ever seen, Raibaru’s the worst, Info-Chan had HUGE potential as a character (there was an idea that she would be the final boss, which is a WAY better idea than the Saikou crap) TL;DR, Play other games. This one sucks.
I can't believe I'm defending Alex (ugh), but comparing a 2d game to a 3d game is really unfair. SV, Omori and Undertale are all 2d games. They're generally easier and less time consuming to make. But I bet that even if he decided to make a 2d yandere sim game, it would still fail. He's just too much of a lazy self-absorbed p*do.
@@wajmgirlI keep thinking of games I love that took multiple years to finish and what they all seem to have in common is they didn't have the money nor as many willing volunteers to help them out like Alex does. The reason they all took long varies from mental health issues/current life issues, the program not being up to snuff as they switch to another one, or just taking time because it really does take a while to produce something you want to have as much effort put into it as possible. What's Alex's excuse exactly???
@@randompromises1038 honesty I think the big problem is alex himself why because notice how ever indie dev try to release there game while taking there time it usually around 2 to 4 years and when it does take long it would be 5 or 8 years that because there trying to fully release it at once and when a indie dev have To do early access it usually take about 1 or 2 years one example being hades being in early access around 2018 and fully released in 2020 with most of it bugs being fix or gameplay changes that improved the game so why did i mentioned that because it took alex 6 years to released the demo for a unreleased game with glitch's and useless gameplay mechanics that don't improve the game but only make the development even longer when it shouldn't now it 9 years with probably only 9 or 12 percent of yan sim being complete Let's be thankful that alex didn't became both game director and main developer of any indie game outside of yan sim Like imagine alex version of undertale OMORI hades stardew valley or any good indie game that way better then yan sim being develop by evil linguini himself it would be a disastrous nightmare
I defeated Osana in 15 minutes with an accidental bug. I tried beating her by kidnapping someone, but apparently I kidnapped "the wrong person" who has a cutscene on the day I sent her to kill Osana. So that bugged out and wouldnt go past the police scene. Then I accidentally beat her in the first 15 minutes of the game by accidentally shoving her head in a fan whiLE SHE WAS TWO FLOORS DOWN Other bugs included: When I tried to reload a saved game, everything apparently ascended to heaven because it blinded me with light Clipping, everywhere My FPS was at a solid 15 FPS (without the shadows) and sometimes dropped to 2 FPS Osana & Raibaru getting stuck in scared phases so I couldnt kill them. And lots of more. so yeah 10/10 great game edit: spelling fixing lol
"My FPS was at a solid 15 FPS" bruh you are using a shit computer, a $2000 computer isn't going to run a AAA game like this. I work at NASA and with their computers I play this game all the time. I can consistently get a buttery smooth 45 fps that only dips to 15 fps anytime something happens.
Those body pillows make me viscerally uncomfortable, not least because the "sailor" uniforms are now generally worn by Japanese JUNIOR high school students. We're talking 12-15 year olds here.
A while ago, when I was looking at the Yandere Sim Demo, I decided to be so kind as to report a bug. It wasn’t a major bug, all it did was *BRING RAIBARU BACK TO LIFE AFTER YOU HAD KILLED HER MAKING THE GAME NEAR UNPLAYABLE* so it wasn’t anything major. I was thorough in my report. I told him how I triggered the bug, the approximate times of day and circumstances that triggered the bug, and even a method I used to avoid the bug. I have him suggestions as to how he might fix the bug. I tossed around a theory as to what was causing it. It’s been over a month. 2 or 3 updates have been rolled out. The bug still exists. I haven’t received a reply, so I can’t even tell if he saw my bug report. Amazing.
With the copyright thing and the Scooby gang, I also noticed all the names he gave the characters just sound like someone doing a racist impersonation of an Asian person attempting to say the actual names

But don't tell your audience that you can only play a certain way by taking away the option to do it differently.

reminds me of when i was 9 and me and my friend were playing yan sim on her mom's computer. we were running around taking panty shots and killing people and her mom walked in. she walked in right as my friend was taking a panty shot of one of the dead girls and made a face of pure disgust. she freaked out and asked what the fuck we were doing, yanked the cord out of the pc, and told me to go out into the living room. i think i sat on their couch for like 5-10 minutes awkwardly listening to her mom scream at her and whatnot. actually i have a lot of memories of people playing yan sim when id go over to their houses since it came out when i was in the 4th - 5th grade

Need to remind people that Razzbowski found a way to kill osana in less than a minute and had a lot of fun with it, just for Yanderedev to quickly patch it by making Raibaru smell gasoline from a mile away
I did the same thing in testing, there are still other ways like that, they really require you to think, but since each rival is a copy paste...
no because how in the hell would a highschool student be able to smell gasoline
@@user-zb1xf1mu6r I mean it’s definitely possible? But not in the way that he put it in the game. I can totally tell!”
What's weird isn't that Raibaru is able to smell the gasoline; it's that other students can't. Gasoline has a very distinct smell. You'd think a student with the "teacher's pet" personality would think, "Oh no, there might be a gas leak! Better report this to faculty!"
No one even reports the fact that they themself or others have been doused in gasoline.

Wasn’t it about her mother being a serial killer and her dad being the “Senpai’s” father on some incest shit or something?
probably unlikely but if he keeps it he'll probably make that an elimination method for another rival similar to osana's pool elimination

Voice Acting
Music and sound design

See, but it worked when WNM did it because it COULD have functioned as a 2-D version of the game, but that map, if I recall, was only a camera that cover the general area of the main character, aka the focus, so in turn it didn't lag out the entire game (I don't think it did, anyway) because it isn't showing you the entire from two different cameras at the same time.
At least, that's my guess. I don't know D about coding and rendering and all that.

He stole it from a hentai game
Osana isnt senpais best friend since he was a child and someone whos close to him, shes just a trope @tomascaro5224
right? i honestly think the easiest rival should just be another girl who also has a crush but no actual ties and we slowly work up to his inner circle, and eventually his sister.
but instead of like incest or whatever it should be that yandere girlie is delusional and thinks that she needs to remove every girl that looks at him because she can be the only one or something
he kept getting mad that people found cheesy ways to kill her easily and so he just went "nah no fun allowed"
Oh, there was already a female one. He just kind of removed it and asked for money
Considering his (past) incel behavior I’m not surprised…a recluse doesn’t really let old habits die
I've seen it said that it's actually Yandere-chan that's his self-insert, but I don't remember who said that and what their evidence was, so take it as a pinch of salt.
I think he mightve said he also doesn't want to play a female character going after a female senpai, because that'd be gay. Don't quote me on it.
OMG THATS EXACTLY WHAT I TOUGHT WHEN I SAW SEMPAI!!!

Kokona was a better *rival* than Osana.
Let that sink in.

Apart from the stereotypical rivals in anime, Kokona is a more realistic rival than all combined.

fr, the coding was already there. he could've just make her an official rival
Feedme , it’s sad that this is probably true
Edit: I don’t know if you all were serious about me actually making this a game BUT I’ve started thinking about maybe actually doing this when I have the money and started working on some ideas for rivals. I’m not doing it with Japanese names and culture though since I know almost nothing about that and will instead make it with Swedish influences since I’m from here :) I also wouldn’t be making the code and hiring people that actually have experience and I’m a minor right now so can’t exactly do that lol
But that does give me a few years if I actually do this. Maybe I’ll update this in a few years and see if I’m still thinking about doing this. Thank you all for the nice comments!♥️

I still cannot believe that he broke the contract with Tinybuild. The game was literally going to be made FOR him, and he said NO.

It is a wonderful game and a great example of how someone actually passionate about their game can do better than someone just shitting some code for profit.
And Stardew still gets minor content updates too.
And it took less time.
It's just funny to me how, according to Yandev, his game is going to merge Hitman and Persona, games who took hundreds of people to make them, and merge them in an even more complex game by himself.
Any competent developer would just understand the scale of such a project it is and not even try
Vaknir Tseifo Damen honestly a modern day medicated terry davis could probably get it done
It's because Yandere dev doesn't have a vision, and if he ever did he lost it a long time ago. He couldn't make up his mind about what he wanted the game to be, now it's just a mess. "Raibaru is actually very easy to eliminate"

And yet we MUST keep the PANTY SHOT mechanic! It is entirely necessary and CLEARLY superior to ALL the alternatives 🙄🙄🙄
Where is the disguise part? The game was just inherently weird from the start.
Remember that InfoChan does not want the panty shots for blackmail but to sell them to the male students in exchange of money. Thats her business. It is explained in the original introduction YD made for the game in its beginning. But yeah, I still prefer your idea lol

1. Sometimes you can't pick up things for no reason.
2. Characters spin in circles after their events.
3. Shadows make the framerate go down from a 50-60 to 8-12
4. If you kill someone, their blood will float in the air, making you unable to clean it.
5. The game (or rather Alex) really wants you to take panty shots. If you don't use the internet for guides you can't play without using them for most of the time.
6. Raibaru is literally a band aid fix. It won't be easy to kill Osana if you give her an invincible friend who you can't defeat using any methods that have been in the game for 6 years.

i played the "official game" (1980's mode) and here are some absolute gems:
- you can complete the game with an S rating no matter what (even if so many people have seen you commit murder) if you have a high reputation. you can get a high reputation by setting your conversation topic to "i dislike violence" and spamming the talk button in the front of the school every morning while all the students walk in. the idea of the most popular student in school screaming I HATE VIOLENCE to every person who walks by them is fucking insane and hilarious. this 'game' was not balanced in any way, shape or form.
- the game did not load walls, students or props unless I was directly beside them. i could not see more than two feet in front of me, which honestly was the only hard part of the whole experience
- the music and 1980's aesthetic were the only good part about the game (the 1980's tracks go rlly hard)
- i played it all in one day, and did not enjoy even a second of it
Ayano: *takes out soap box and stands on it in the middle of everyone walking to school*
"I HATE VIOLENCE!!!!!!!"
Everyone else: *clapping*
*Reputation has increased to 100*
I would say that the tutorial is somewhat nice atleast for me personally it got really boring after the first rival, on my last rival (can’t even remember their names bc they are so unmemorable and boring) the game completely broke and I just didn’t even bother eliminating the rival, overall the ending was just unsatisfying and boring but definitely agree on the aesthetic aspect of it the trailer for 1980s mode genuinely looks really good same goes for the soundtrack and especially the song that one of the rivals sings
“Persona is an influence” means “I want all the girls to look like Anne for the exact reason she wanted to kick the shit out of that one teacher.”
Yeah those days could be used to make friends or build on your social stats. If you could skip the days, then those mechanics wouldn’t need to be there.
persona has always been a game with a well crafted story and characters who feel somewhat real and have realistic arcs, even the early games (persona 1 and 2) have these features and later games also implement a healthy balance of a social life with the combat area of the game
this is something yandere sim fails to do, the characters are 2d references to other anime (which makes them hard to see as real characters) and there is little to no social life in the game, even the combat manages to be unfulfilling because of how the answers and methods are told to you rather than you figuring it out
Yeah the fact that you even need to skip to the next week says a lot about how nothing in the game is fun or worthwhile.

Honorifics are used by other people, we don’t use them on ourselves, that’s stupid. Players should be given vague hints about schemes via overheard conversations which is already implemented, that then get added to a notebook from Ayano's POV.
Electrocution scheme: "Why can't we use the bathroom on the second floor?" "Oh, one of the switches is busted. Didn't you see the sign?"
The notebook: "A lightswitch in the second floor bathroom is broken. Maybe I can move the sign?"
For the crushing, in the gym, NPCs are lifting weights.
"Man, these things aren't heavy at all." "You're saying that because you're not the one who has to put them away..." "Carry them more often and it'll be a breeze!" "Or you could just help me?" "Nah, I'm good."
This hints how to train strength whilst having a semi humorous tone and a slightly natural pace, and also hints that you need several dumbells as well as how to carry them.
The title of the notebook additions would be the name of the scheme, as to hint what you're meant to do.

i think Alex is a horrible game developer, he seems like horrible person too. I think Yandere simulator is a good game concept, but i don’t think the game needed 6 years for one rival.
Exactly
Yan’s like: I’ve been doin favors for you, help me kill this girl
Info: cool, how would you like?
Yan: how about drowning?
Info: alright, [insert kinda vague step one here, like there’s a weight in the gym tell me if you can lift it]
etc, etc.
Stuff like:
-Day one: Go place bugs around the school (teaching the player important locations and the general layout of the school)
-Day two: Stalk some random person (preferably literally random) and report to info about what their schedule is like. (Teaching the player how to learn someone’s movements)
-Day 3: gathering stuff for her, be it physical or information, I.e. blackmail. (Teaching the player how to work the social game and/or stealth)
-Day 4: idk, she asks you to go into town and do something to someone.

The
I thought it would have been more interesting than having a pedophilic teacher is to have her as Taro's favorite teacher who he has a very close but platonic relationship - like how she might look out for him and help him out with no ulterior motives - which would give the player the oppotunity to frame her as a predator and get her arrested as an elimination technique.
That's basically it, yeah.
Doesn’t seem like a passion project to me, more like a disgusting high school girls fetishization project.
@@ghakfjkstjajdjd1811 Naw, I meant like it started as one. But after the big ego boost from becoming a huge hit he just fell into this limbo of being spoiled and having a big ego.

Here's what I don't get, that I haven't seen anyone address:
Alex says he needs money to hire professionals, which includes programmers that have more experience than him.

And keep it that way.
Because let’s be honest, the only time Yandere Simulator was fun and at it’s peak, was when it didn’t really matter who you killed, you could kill anyone in anyway you want! No rivals to focus on, just running around killing no one specific with any method you wished with-ought getting caught.

He should just fucking delete the game, give everyone their money back, and delete it. It is straight up embarrasing that it's almost a decade since it started and we're not even close to a finished product and apparently he's still the same idiot who takes no criticism
@hello Pretty much.
Alex really does just take ideas from other games and doesn't even try to understand the reason for why they were made the way they are.
honestly he's so inconsistent. he's got all these different methods for doing things and is like "you can do anything! you can kill your rivals in _aaaany_ way you want...you can even choose not to kill them and just try to deter them from senpai!" but then someone tries something inventive and he's like "oh wait you can't do that though!"
like either let it be an open world game where you can do anything you want and kill (or not kill) your opponents in any way you can think of, or have it meant to be played in a specific way. you can't do both.
With smt nocturne, sure the game forces you to use buffs and debuffs, however the teaming is rather flexible. As long as you have a buffer/debuffers and an healer, you can use any demons with that combo
Hes making a sandbox very linear
15:45 he could've just said she uses osana's phone to play games or something like i know it might sound a bit weird but I've seen it happen so 🤷♀️
God its so stupid to say she keeps her phone on silent so she can't be manipulated cause I keep my phone on silent but I still check my text messages...
Something like that would actually be plausible though, unlike her phone being on silent and she never checks it for some reason, even though she can be seen on it. Saying she plays games on someone else's phone makes it seem more realistic on a "humans do this thing sometimes" sorta level.
LittleKittenLover and we all know that that kind of logic is way above the game’s standards of quality.
If nothing else, he should have said it's on "do not disturb" or something so she actually cannot see notifications
“Osana gimme your phone I know you have games on it “
Isn't Info-Chan supposed to be super genius-level talented at hacking tho? Why can't she just turn the phone loud lol

C'mon, people. Youre not that dumb. C'mon.
We already have enough normalizing shit,
with even 'Using Lesbians for Marketing' being
totally fine with modern UA-cam.
We need less normalizing or however you want
to call it. Less, not more.
Also, related but other topic: We also need programming- classes
in schools. So we have more good programmers.
I mean, even if we say Programms running Life in major ways
is just Sci-Fi (which is arguable), but even then, we still
just need more good programmers.
...Why are Schools so lack-luster?
I just heard yesterday
someone lamenting he
basically almost starved and
failed in life,

did not teach him
much about his current

doing taxes and such.
Dont worry, that person is
fine now - but not cause
of always attending school,
but cause he found a
sensei. No kidding.

The "I'm just one person" excuse doesn't work for multiple reasons
1) he's not just 1 person, he has a whole team of volunteers. (who he doesn't pay yet he expects them to work like it's their job)
2) there are a ton of indie developers who's series started with 1 or 2 people teams who became ultra successful (Scott cawthon's series became so successful it became a launch title for ps5 with a toy line from funko pop, Toby fox got sans into smash and had a whole orchestra play his music, zun's series became a busy hub for fan anime, fanart, and fangames, and the list goes on and on for indie games that started off small then bloomed.)
3.) He shouldn't put all his time into streaming.
Let's not forget the TinyBuild incident as well.
1. Who's zun? Sorry I just dont recognize them
2. His vtuber avatar is trash, I doubt he spent money on it, probably just ripped the model from somewhere and changed it a but...in general he needs to stop streaming so much. Or idk do streams where he works on his game
zun is the creator of the touhou series!
@@prysmatica OHHH
Dude prolly thinks he's the next Toby fox one man indie game making legend, completely forgetting the fact that fox's game has SOOOO much heart whereas yansim doesn't.
YanDev makes a million times more than Toby Fox did, and yet his voice actress Michaela Laws (Yandere-chan) is still not getting payed for her work. She also hires new voice actors and works on the game.
AYANO'S VOICE ACTOR IS STILL NOT GETTING PAID? I'm not surprised I'm just disgusted.
Wait, Michaela isn't getting paid? Jesus fucking christ, I feel so bad for her. I love Michaela's work and her game. (She has a game on Steam by the way, called Seduce Me The Otome, you should go check it out c:)
I really hope she just quits at some point and leaves the main character without a VA. That should destroy Alex in some manner.

At least RWBY has good fight scenes going for it, even if the rest of the show is... not that great. I'd be hard-pressed to find a similar redeeming quality about YanSim.
nah, because at least they attempt to make it work, even if it fails to do so.
Other indie games:
Omori: A beautiful story-driven RPG illustrating the process of healing from grief and trauma with multiple routes and endings, managing to be horrifying but still wholesome and even funny at times.
Now look at Yandere Simulator: Technically the demo took less time than Omori (Yandere Sim demo released 8/31/2020 and Omori released 12/25/2020 and both started in 2014), but Omori is fully complete and all Yandere Sim has is pedophilia and loading screens taking more time than actually killing the rival, Alex spent 6 years developing elimination methods specifically for someone who WASN’T THE RIVAL (she should’ve been, I love Kokona), having the most boring and dislikable main characters I’ve ever seen, Raibaru’s the worst, Info-Chan had HUGE potential as a character (there was an idea that she would be the final boss, which is a WAY better idea than the Saikou crap)
TL;DR, Play other games.
@@WildVeeconsidering Alex has had 40+ “volunteers” over the years it doesn’t help his case
@@randompromises1038 honesty I think the big problem is alex himself why because notice how ever indie dev try to release there game while taking there time it usually around 2 to 4 years and when it does take long it would be 5 or 8 years that because there trying to fully release it at once and when a indie dev have
To do early access it usually take about 1 or 2 years one example being hades being in early access around 2018 and fully released in 2020 with most of it bugs being fix or gameplay changes that improved the game so why did i mentioned that because it took alex 6 years to released the demo for a unreleased game with glitch's and useless gameplay mechanics that don't improve the game but only make the development even longer when it shouldn't now it 9 years with probably only 9 or 12 percent of yan sim being complete
Let's be thankful that alex didn't became both game director and main developer of any indie game outside of yan sim
