- Steve Perry of Journey, interviewed by Lisa Robinson, promoting his then new solo album 'Street Talk'. Part two of two.

Can you imagine Steve being on Food stamps, and borrowing money to pay his bills. You just never know what a person has been through in life. God blessed him with that voice, and he used it to make music and people happy. And to make some people Rich. Happy he had success before his Mom passed,so she could see how successful he was and what a good job she did by encouraging him to continue.
I am so infatuated with Mr Steve Perry- the old days and the present- he is so sassy when he sings- just in love all over again. And he likes cats! My kind of man .

"Entering super stardom when he was hitting his 30's has only helped keep his feet on the ground. Professional articulate insightful witty and very intelligent - I have yet to hear an interview where he doesn't come across as the real deal ( even that interview from RoR tour Japan where Steve, Jon and Neal were slightly drunk - was damn good and hilarious too LOL.) Mr. Perry is the total package - thanks for posting this!
Thanks for posting this, awesome interview! I love hearing the man behind the voice, behind the music. I don't blame him for going solo. There can be no progress when you're standing still. And Journey was awesome, I love their music, but there were a lot of different personalities in that pot and I think it was probably a very stressful situation for all of them. I don't want SP to reunite with Journey, I just want him to come out with new music.
Listen to Steve describe his touring schedule...and people wonder WHY his romantic relationships didn't last?? It was "Circus Life", as Steve would say.

I'm late in finding this 2 part interview: I LOVE it! As always, he's honest but discreet in his answers. One of my absolute favorite songs of his is Running Alone:: it's too bad so few people know of it and I'm delighted that it's one of his favorites, too. The lyrics are SO good! I've sent them to my nieces & nephews as they begin to reach "adulthood", giving them the message that "it's up to you..." to go your way & determine your own destiny. THANKS for this!

Where is the rest of this interview. I would sure like to hear the rest of it. This couldn't be the end it was just getting interesting. I'm Hanging on to every word Steve is saying. I just love all of his radio interviews. He voice sounds so beautiful even when he's just talking. I love this man so much.
Watch the one with Dan Rathers. That one is that best I ever heard. He reveals so much. I hope whoever violated him at 9 years old rots in hell!! Anyone who did that deserves to rot in hell. Breaks my heart! 💔

His voice sounds extremely different now. When you hear this interview then he sounds so different. I guess it's age too.

He was always worried about his vocal chords getting calloused, when it happened his speaking voice became more like his singing voice.
As fine as you are it must have been difficult to make true friends. East coast has some quiet places to think!

Steve perry should of staying in journey i mean that asian guy doesn't fit the band. Steve perry wrote most of their greatest hits like dont stop believing and we sure don't need anybody to replace him.
this is a wow interview. She asked good questions and he was willing to talk and be open. He even touched on having to stop for a while. She let HIM talk and kept quiet. I believe Sherrie was gone by now

Sherri and Steve split in June 1985. She was on the Japan trip he mentioned. She was not happy with all the touring he was doing between Journey and his solo projects. There was no time for her.
LavenderOcean M maybe idk JC said in an interview they were split by 1984 bout the time Cain and his wife divorced. supposedly he took her on the tour, to help keep the relationship alive it was in failure mode at that time. 1983. who knows for sure but them

Very interesting topic in video, however don't agree on running alone, come on, not when you have so much to offer, of course fear keeps you back from doing a lot things,and you have to put up a lot of fight but sometimes you can't be the only one fighting,......going listen to again over.
