At the ripe age of I was lucky enough to have the Wilsons father as an English literature teacher at Ringdale Jr High in 1975. I thought how could such an off the charts talent not be famous-I didn't have to wait long, I heard Magic Man on the radio a year or so later and knew they were on their way!

@Mark Anthony Weight doesn't define her. Listen to her voice, to the words of the music she's written. You're what's wrong with the industry. Music isn't about what you look like. Hollywood makes it that way. Ann is beautiful..inside and out. So is Nancy. The world, (or should I say mostly men in this case) is obsessed with sex, being thin and how much skin you can show. Ann Wilson is one of the most beautiful people in the world. I've had a crush on both sisters since the 70s as a teen. Beauty is not defined by a specific body type. Two of the most normal people you will ever meet in this business! Of all their work, Nothing at all hit home the hardest but for all the rest of the work, Thanks ladies, you earned it.
My favorite band of all time. I wonder how many guys over the years have just stared at that Little Queens cover photo...truly a masterpiece of beauty and talent and mystery. Ann and Nancy you are the stuff dreams are made of...thank you for your music it will always be a part of my own history.
Wishing them both much happiness. Thank you for the music--for sharing your beautiful gifts. And for your courage and strength in doing what you loved in a man's world.
Ann and Nancy are such incredibly talented ladies, and I can tell they are total sweethearts with really good morals. They didn't deserve all that heartbreak in their relationships, but they were strong and did persevere in making amazing music. I got to see them a few years ago at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nevada, and they put on a stellar concert. They have kept their musical magic all of these years and their singing is better than ever. I totally look forward to seeing them again in concert the next time they come to my part of California. Keep on rockin' Ann and Nancy! You are the best! :)
They seem to have ben full participants and it is unclear who suffered the most. They made the classic error of having relationships within the group, see (Mac ,Fleetwood and Airplane, Jefferson)
I adore Heart...always have...always will. They are both smart, beautiful, INCREDIBLY TALENTED, and seem to really have a grip on life. Their mom seems like an awesome lady, as well, so you can tell they've had a great bringing up. Anyways, that was a great "Behind The Music"...loved every minute of it!!!
That's fuckkked up she was gorgeous and her voice could send chills down your spine and blood rushing to your....well ya know you girls rock and if they saw something else fuck them beauty comes from the soul right. Bravo to you ladies
For some reason I never got into Heart although I liked their songs but thanks to this documentary I plan to check them out more as I appreciate them 20 years later, So thank you for opening up my eyes and ears.
That was a very touching bio. I wish more band histories had more positive aspects to them. Anyway, I've always loved their music, having grown up in that era.
I was 13 when I first heard Heart back in the 70's... loved them then and now. Beautiful women inside and out. Thank you Ann and Nancy for your music xox
Regardless of Anns weight issues we all listen to heart because of her beautiful voice...After gaining some years in age I realize I was not in love with Ann, I was in love with her voice and charisma and I believe this is has been the case all along...
+Paul Davis Ann was an incredible stage performer. i would still loves Heart's music in 2016 but seeing them live in the 1980s made me obsessed with them.
I aways admired the two of you (Ann and Nancy) Your a real inspiration too all women!! Not only that your so damn talented but you actually give me butterfly's! lol! God Bless you both and Please keep your music going! We all love it!!
Great bio! Love these women... Dreamboat Annie was the first album I ever bought, way back in '76. Nancy is such an amazing guitarist and composer, and Ann... Beautiful Ann... you were always my favourite!
That was a good watch. I knew the old songs I listened to was Heart but didn't know all those other great songs were them too. That was a great story and i'm sure will inspire people to keep moving, changing direction if need be and never give up.
Wow, that is so sad that they gave her such a hard time about her weight. I LOVE Ann Wilson and she's beautiful, no matter what her weight. There is so much more to her than her weight that makes her beautiful and yet that's all they saw. It's really really so sad to disregard all the amazing things about her like that. Your fans will always love you Ann.
I used to live in Tacoma back then and saw these 2 beautfull Ladies 3 times. Once on new years eve in 1979. They were in my mind one of the best bands in history. And as far as Anns weight? why would anyone care Its about the music for me. Thank you for this interview it was FANTASTIC.
Most of the people criticizing her are probably obese themselves; most people in this country are. I always laugh when people who probably make minimum wage criticize people like Ann Wilson who are Hall of Fame caliber successful people. People who are successful and comfortable in their own skin don't feel the need to criticize other people over something as shallow as looks or weight.
Heart didn't do anything in the 80s that their peers like Aerosmith, KISS, and Alice Cooper didn't do. For some reason they just got criticized more than the others. Regardless, Ann Wilson had the best effing voice in rock and still does to this day.
Paul Newman Wrong attitude...her health is most important here. That's the problem she's let off too easily. Poor Ann eats too much...well after a stroke or heart attack then what?
@@zigzagbigbag back when Ann started to gain weight, the ppl criticizing her didn't care about her health - it was all about how she looked...being skinny was a sad thing to focus on and if you listened to this Behind the Music of them, they said all the focus on glamour and looks took away from the talent. They are right. You are right about extra weight being unhealthy, but that's not what the critics back then cared about.
Back in the day I saw them live several times and ALWAYS LOVED THEM! They are the sirens of the 1970's and early 1980's! They lured my heart to there location and captivated me with their song! Over, and over, and over again, and still do! I'd love to sit with them and play a guitar and just jam! I can't play anymore, so it wouldn't be that good, but you'd have them!
These girls were the Best. I lived in a neighboring town. Renton... they lived in Bellevue. I did not know they even existed. I moved across the water to Bremerton with my new wife. There's a place called Pearls in Bremerton . A very small place for entertainment. They came there. We saw them. 3 blocks from where we lived. I totally fell in love with there music. I bought they 8 track and played it all summer long in my 64 Ford at Belfair State Park. .
@@twigagawizard I can now that they charge a lot of money for meet and greets. That's not the situation I met them in, but have heard she's the same way in those despite saying in interviews how much she loves fans. She doesn't, and those close to her will tell you she detests meet and greets. I'd rather an artist not have them than to have them and be aloof to the people paying money to meet her.
Howard Leese was the band member kept through all the years. I briefly spoke to him after a concert asking him where they were going to next, Was to be the Letterman show appearance the next night on the 1993 tour. I had walked off thinking how down to earth and approachable he seemed and that no wonder he remained stable through all the changes over the years on the band I thought.
Christ I felt bad for Ann, such a gift and it was being controlled by such evil forces in the record industry. I listened to Heart all my life and never once cared what they looked like. Record Companies never care about the artist, just the bucks. Thank you Heart for everything, our lives are far far better with you :)

I just saw them last month in concert. It was GREAT! Yes, Ann is still chunky, but she has that wonderful voice that has NEVER changed. I have never gone to see them in concert for their looks. Joan Jett was there in the concert too. Know what? ALL of them have gotten older. So have I. I've gained weight too. So what? The music is the thing, and as long as Ann and Nancy are together, it IS HEART!
Magic man was the song of the man I loved and had 2 girls with. It's a perfect song. I miss the beautiful 70s and the gorgeous simplicity. Heart u Rock

What's really sad to me is one I think you're both beautiful to music you guys have that in Spades so I'm just glad that you guys are still in this world and still together making music God bless you both
Besides the great tunes what gives me joy is these sisters care for each other and obviously love each other a lot. Call me a softie if you must but love to see siblings love each other instead of bickering and even hating .
Great upload! Thank you. Amazing coverage of an incredible rock story, these two beloved sisters, and the band mates we've heard too little about. We love you all.
I've been listening to Heart since I was in high school in the mid '70's and never tire of their talent, Ann's voice and Nancy's guitar. This documentary really solidified my respect and admiration for Ann and Nancy as people, and the bandmates that were always just outside the limelight that they shone in. I'm currently in a disaster zone in The Bahamas in which devastation doesn't begin to describe the situation, but watching this documentary, listening to the songs (and stumbling across your music by happenstance) I just feel better. A great many people died here and the outside world has soon forgotten Dorian, but music helps heal the soul, and music like Ann and Nancy's has soul to the nth degree.
I had the opportunity to see their show in Vancouver about 10 years ago since I was living there back then. It was a small venue (Red Robinson Casino or something like that) . I remember that my seat was not too far away from the stage but all of a sudden I noticed that the people from the best seats leave them, approach closer to the stage and watch the rest of the show standing....then I said to myself: "What the hell! "I fell in love with Annie´s wonderful voice when I was 18 (after watching in TV "The Concert for the Americas" that was held in Dominican Republic back in 1982) and I won´t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to watch her and the band that close!"...so I also approached to the stage like the others and spent the rest of the show watching Annie singing her heart off ....I´ve been a drummer for 30 years and If I ever had the chance to pick a rock and roll band to play in...it would be definitely Heart! Love you girls! Thank you girls! Greetings from Lima , Perú, my hometown!
Both sisters are incredibly talented and beautiful. I have loved ALL their music since they first hit the charts in 1975. They have made the best choices in their music, and for themselves, and are super vocalists to me. Their music reflects their lives, and that I can relate to because I've been through mostly the same situations myself. I dearly hope that they keep making music until they tire of it, but their music will go on forever for me. I've never been to one of their concerts, but I have all their recordings - vinyl, CD and video. I would like to be a friend of theirs - someday.

Two of the most normal people you will ever meet in this business! Of all their work, Nothing at all hit home the hardest but for all the rest of the work, Thanks ladies, you earned it.
If your insides don't collapse and melt when Ann sings, you are dead. It's the definition of the word "joy" to listen to her sing. Still.
You are beautiful no matter your size afterall there will never be another Ann Wilson. One of by fav bands. Heart forever.
My favorite band of all time.
I wonder how many guys over the years have just stared at that Little Queens cover photo...truly a masterpiece of beauty and talent and mystery.
Ann and Nancy you are the stuff dreams are made of...thank you for your music it will always be a part of my own history.
Ann you are simply beautiful and always have been. You are one incredible team!! Thank you for the opportunity to hear more of your magic soul 😇💚
Ann is a rock goddess.
People who have childhood films of themselves are lucky.
That's fuckkked up she was gorgeous and her voice could send chills down your spine and blood rushing to your....well ya know you girls rock and if they saw something else fuck them beauty comes from the soul right. Bravo to you ladies
I grew up with heart... Love em... Wish the best for both two talented women. Hats off to u. Good memories ❤️ 70 80 and 90.
For some reason I never got into Heart although I liked their songs but thanks to this documentary I plan to check them out more as I appreciate them 20 years later, So thank you for opening up my eyes and ears.
Never knew how much I liked these girls until this week.
That was a very touching bio. I wish more band histories had more positive aspects to them. Anyway, I've always loved their music, having grown up in that era.
So Awesome of you all to share your story with the public!! Such a beautiful emotional road travelled.
I concur
@@dampendamp1441 they are still rocking in 2019! They are currently on the Love Alive Tour! The sisters are real soul mates.
Paul, are you the same guy who sang "I Go Crazy"?
I just love how funny they are . 😂🤣
Has always been a great band!! Family!!! Still a gorgeous lady Ann!!!
Great set of videos, I grew up loving the Wilson sisters and all their music.
Thank you for this interview it was FANTASTIC.
she is still a beautiful women don;t let anyone or anything stop u u are a goddess of rock and roll in your own right . still holding it down at 60.
I am sick and tired of this "fat-shaming" thing. Talent and beauty cannot be denied.
This Band is always on my HEART forever and ever
Geeze, people are so shallow. So what if Ann put on a few pounds . She's still beautiful with an amazing voice.
I agree
@@zigzagbigbag back when Ann started to gain weight, the ppl criticizing her didn't care about her health - it was all about how she looked...being skinny was a sad thing to focus on and if you listened to this Behind the Music of them, they said all the focus on glamour and looks took away from the talent. They are right. You are right about extra weight being unhealthy, but that's not what the critics back then cared about.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are true to heart women...what more could you ask for? Great women and great voices and songs...true sisterly love.
Ive always been a Heart fan. Always will
Heart captured mine with their talent, their power, their harmony, their chutzpah.
I bought they 8 track and played it all summer long in my 64 Ford at Belfair State Park.
.
Ann shines a beautiful soul.
Ann.. poor angel. you are beautiful big or small.Nancy is a wonderful sister
no joke there amazingly talented individuals would absolutely be in awe at a chance to meet or jam with them
big is beautful yummy bring it on x
@@deadshot4245 I've met them several times. Ann is not real friendly, Nancy is absolutely delightful.
@@WithaJoeFro Can you blame her? :/
It was only the press, fans didn't care if she gained 100 lbs. Frikn bastards!!! Ann is number one and people love her!!!!!!
Thanks for the history. No matter what they look like, their my favorite girls!!!! Heart is a great rock band with a history of great music!!! I LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!!
Only shallow people would judge such talent by looks. Such a natural talent. Ann I will always love you. Have since the 70s
have always enjoyed the sounds of Heart & love the vocals & harmonies Ann & Nancy have produced. Keep on rocking sisters, you are both beautiful ladies, God bless you
Brilliant pioneers...these ladies showed me I could do more than I ever dreamed of and I am grateful for them! ♥
thanks for uploading this and editing it so well (at the commercial breaks). its a fascinating and entertaining history of one of america's most notable rock bands.
I Have Always Loved Your Music .Please Make More Videos.I Love You Both And Will For EVER.
Love and respect for those two women .....
Magic man was the song of the man I loved and had 2 girls with. It's a perfect song. I miss the beautiful 70s and the gorgeous simplicity. Heart u Rock
Thanks for the great behind the scenes history of my favorite band.
i love these girls!! i never saw a image issue with either one of them just admired their music.
HEART, thank you for the beautiful music!!!
Wow! Just found this, watched the 4 parts and it was fantastic! I've been a Heart fan since Dreamboat Annie and am still a fan today. I grew up with their music. They've been an inspiration and a great influence on me and my own music so thanks for sharing this. It was really wonderful to learn about their journey.
What does a weight have to do with her enormous Talent voice of the angel
Thanx Kat c for putting it so perfectly.
Has to do with videos ,and live performances . Hide her behind the curtain and have her perform from there
2 talent and classy ladies.
Hi and lots of Love & blessings from Vancouver Canada I live in the Lower Mainland oh, I just wanted to say grew up listening to you guys I think you were both beautiful and you're both talented and boy what singers. What's really sad to me is one I think you're both beautiful to music you guys have that in Spades so I'm just glad that you guys are still in this world and still together making music God bless you both
Thank you Ann and Nancy for giving the world some of the best music ever created.
Love these women! I wish my sister was as supportive of me as these two are of each other. Great Bio!
Besides the great tunes what gives me joy is these sisters care for each other and obviously love each other a lot. Call me a softie if you must but love to see siblings love each other instead of bickering and even hating .
Society puts a lot of emphasis on weight and beauty. It is tragic! Ann and Nancy are both equally beautiful and talented.
Body image be damned. Ann Wilson is a rock goddess. Talented and beautiful.

Your comment is right on Perry Andrew. I'm really glad you spoke up.
Heart has been my favorite group ever since I can remember. The Wilson sisters are a force. They haven't been around this long for nothing. They have talent, style, class and above all "Heart".
So sad, when will people learn not to judge others. We are all different and should celebrate those differences. Remember judges someday you may be judged too.
I always thought Ann was beautiful😀❤
was is correct
nah IS is correct you douchebag troll
just because you get turned down by women all the time doesn't mean you gotta attack one, get some help loser.
