Gotta admit it, as much as i love Lin I didn't expect him to have the acting chops to hold his own against a powerhouse actress like Ruth Wilson. I stand corrected. They are both amazing here, easily one of the best scenes of the season.
Honestly lin I think if I'm being completely honest yes this is the best scene in the season one and 2 genre but because lin has the best character and does it really well his acting is beautiful and I could not love it more
I still think hes horrible miscast as Lee. The book version is practically the polar opposite of how he’s shown in this series. He’s supposed to be a Texan that looks like elderly Lee Van Cleef, a flying cowboy, with a strong Texan accent, 59 years old, a gunslinger. Lin’s an AMAZING actor. Even here. But here he looks and sounds more like a crooked drug-dealing gang member.
This is an excellent example of adding to a story for a book to TV adaptation. This scene was not in the book yet it explains Mrs Coulter's behavior so well. Such great acting from Ruth Wilson and Lin Manuel Miranda. I love the books and I love the show. I can't wait for season 3 and I hope they make it longer.
I've read the books and watched the series and yeah this scene and a few others were not in the book but they worked so well in the story this scene was amazing you saw a different side to not only Ms Coulter but to Lee and it was amazing and emotional best scene yet!
@@carly4238 too true. You got to see one of the reasons she was like that. Spoilers for book two and three. It also makes a beautiful parallel between Mrs. Coulter and Lee. Both of them had abusive parents and both loved Lyra. Lastly they’d both and do die for her. But look at the sheer differences in character, Mrs. Coulter hits and beats her Dæmon, well Lee literally sings with Hester. Lee is this loving dad figure to Lyra, well Mrs. Coulter has become one of, if not the greatest person Lyra wants to get away from.
