- Sonic Origins came out not too long ago, finally bringing the original Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic CD, Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles to modern consoles in widescreen 60 FPS.
Even though the compilation had a mixed reception on launch, there are still plenty of secrets and easter eggs to talk about that I thought might make for an interesting video.
So, if you're into random strangers shouting at you about incredibly obscure and borderline pointless Sonic the Hedgehog trivia, you're in the right place.

You're so right - the lack of easy accessability to those extra features is such a big killer! Mania had a quick button press away to have an easy menu to turn them off and on and Origins doesn't even have a level select for 1 and 2 and CD after beating the games. No point in going so far to 'modernize' the games by removing lives, making it 4K ~yet still with blurry pixels~ but no way to go back through levels on a stage select like 3&K!

the extra features in 1 and 2 also work in the same way in the mobile versions - you can't have a save file with most of them unless you are using the unofficial dissassemblies

7:42 Hey, sonic 2 shield guy here. I’ve come to face the backlash I’ve received from the sonic community and confirm no, I do not in fact prefer the sonic 2 shield to the sonic 3 shields. My love is purely cosmetic, and while I do think it look poggers, it doesn’t actually do as much as the other 3 shields.

Be careful once you mostly doing sonic stuff you might be stuck only doing sonic stuff. I’ve seen many contact creators fall into that trap

For some reason, in sonic 1 by using the insta shield (by turning on sonic 3 items) the roll lock (when you can't turn midair from jumping from a roll) is disabled BUT only after you have used the insta shield on that jump.

Great video! I just discovered your channel and I went to watch your other videos and those were great too, the editing, script, and comedy are wonderful keep it up. Though something I did notice is your channel icon in in the style of rhythm heaven yet you don’t have a rhythm heaven video, I think that would be really interesting if you ever consider making one

I've had an atgames Sega genesis handheld (DAMN THE MUSIC WAS NOT GOOD) I've always wondered where that twinkle sound comes from.

Yeah, people will complain about a lack of content/options if you're little hiding them away from said people. Might as well not be in the game in the first place because I didn't know making a simple options menu was so hard.
