Polyurethane glues are moisture cure. That’s why they bond so well to wet wood. If you want a poly glue to stick to metal you have to actually wet the metal first. There is always moisture to pull out of wood for it to cure. Thanks for the review I’ll be using this stuff for the first time on my next job. When I use the regular stuff I always opt for loctite pl since it is polyurethane base.
This is a very high polyurethane glue. That is why it holds so well. I use to use PL Premium but I use to hate how bad it would run for a couple minutes even with the pressure off. Plus it had organic components which can mold. Even if I didn’t use Advantech sheeting I would still use this glue, you just do not get the warranty. Really great product 👍
I used it this week on a project for subfloor as well and my coworkers didn’t like it because if you get it on your hands it’s a mess lol...... we are all skeptical too but our gun had the extended nozzle so we didn’t have to bend down
I have always been skeptical about new products was always about the last contractor to use something new I always liked giving it a few years for the bugs to get worked out.
Have you seen them use DAP's SMARTBOND Subfloor Construction Adhesive? It's also a foaming poly gel for subfloors too, and now I'm wondering if it's possibly the same stuff.
Have you used this glue on existing subfloors? I want to use Advantech when I remodel my condo and I was hoping to avoid ripping up the existing subfloor (other than a few soft spots I know I have).
I just put down my Advantech subfloor this week with regular old glue... why couldn’t you have posted this a week ago?! I check box stores and they didn’t have it but should have checked with lumber yard. Btw that 1 1/8” advantech is pretty darn hard to do by yourself...
This stuff will stick to basically anything including Your skin so yes you could use it with other types of subfloor. The gun is $50 and each can $18, but replaces 8 tubes of regular adhesive, which would be about $24

I haven't ever seen it before going to try it on my new additions when they are ready for sub floors. I have a pet peeve about squeaky floors!
Love the Cincinnati pride!! GO UC!!
Looks like interesting stuff. Maybe twice as fast as PL per bead size. Nailed It

I see that you're wearing a Cincinnati Bearcats shirt. That's pretty cool, I live about an hour away from Cincinnati in Maysville KY.
The builders in my area are not a fan of the Advantech brand glue. Still choosing PL Premium and Titiebond's Provantage SFA over it.

Jesse H you can also buy it on Amazon. Only downside is Huber charges shipping
Suitable or advisable for other flooring bases......like plywood or osb ?
And how much is the gun , the cans, etc ?

You da men.....
Uh.....YOU DA BROS !
Anyway....thx.
😁
The best part was when you danced on the plywood just to prove how good the product works... No squeaks
Nailed it
Did you use screws or nails? Which ones?
Quick drive screws 2 1/2 inch
Lol. Nice dance. If I was to try that I'd hurt myself. Lol
I use Hubba Bubba chewing gum on my subfloor joist. Strawberry flavor works the best. Guaranteed not to squeak. Lol
17 years of 1:25 is why i have massive forearms for my size 😁
Wish I had a dollar for everytime I had to warm it up on the dash of my truck or build a jobsite fire to get the glue to flow.
nice. but pl premium is wayyyyyyyyyyyy better and has more body.
Way better how? Less messy ..no…..harder to apply? …….no……more expensive? Ye co,ared to pl 400 but not the more expensive Loctite adhesives…
