The melody, the vocals/harmonizing,the arrangement is a masterpiece. It’s the kind of song that when it comes on the radio, you stop hearing anything else around you. It is commanding of your attention. It is that good. This performance is stellar.. I don’t want to say that the new music is boring, lackluster, and non creative, but I have to. It started going downhill in the 90’s. Chuck Negron was gorgeous!
The words High Wire is approaching his 4 octave vocal range. It’s a fun song. I’m impressed. I can’t stop hearing everyday. I’m trying to imitate his vocals but not quite there yet! Lol
This song freaking rocks. I remember as a kid hearing it come on the radio and loving it not even knowing who sang it. It just rocks. And Chuck is perfect singing it.
When Show Go On came out I was 12 and it was among my favorite tunes. Everyone in the band Three Dog Night sing and play with such passion! When the show was over the lights came on and there sat this gorgeous woman I had taken to the show. Well, music really moves me.

"Liar" (by Ballard, one of my favorite musicians) by 3 Dog Night was so advanced for its day! "Mamma Told Me Not to Come" cracked me up when I heard it!
Chuck Negron came and did a show in my town last night and afterwards I went up to him and got his autograph and a picture with him. He's a really cool guy and really nice.
I like both versions! Saw Leo in concert in 1977 and he put on a good show! And don't get me started on how great TDN is!!! Such talent back in the seventies!
Leo Sayer has some nerve.... Ray Parker Jr wrote, You make me feel like dancing" in it's entirety at home with no help from anyone else and Leo is credited for writing it...
I think when we were growing up and listening to all these great artists that we never realized how privileged we were! God, Turing on the radio was like a religious act that we took so much for granted. Now the music has no soul and like the song American Pie the music today has died.
I just noticed this performance was remixed, using the regular in studio release. While that version is great, this live version is so incredibly much more enjoyable to me. The way "walkin on the wire" is thrown together is just one of the many unique presentations which I hope won't be messed with in the future. There's nothing like live music and to be able to offer this in such a fabulous way is indescribable.
Chuck was out of is mind high, but it never became apparent until he was too far over the edge and almost killed himself in a car wreck on his way to a gig. They scooped him up, put a couple of bandaids on him, and he did the show. The audience was none the wiser. Incredible. For a great read, pick up Three Dog Nightmare by Chuck. The 70's and 80's music scene was insane. I know it, is was in the middle of it. Any drug you could want, anytime you wanted it, and women.......well, we won't get into that. As a singer, Chuck is one of my three greatest heros. The way he fought back from the addiction on and became a productive member of society is incredible. Unfortunately, I don't think Danny or Cory will ever let him perform with them again. It's too bad. The were a force to be reckoned with. I was their light guy for some west coast dates in the mid 70's and they were the consumate professionals.
Jerry Clausen I totally disagree...the three of them together formed the best band ever with three great lead singers....all that talent....was truly awesome..
***** I read the book by Chuck Negron...I loved this band..I worked for ABC records back in the 70s .Every time they cut a new album I knew I was guaranteed overtime. LOL They carried ABC for a long while. Dont know about others that read book, but after reading it and seeing how low Negron could go,I couldnt get in the shower fast enough..I really thought Chuck made 3 Dog Night. But what he did to the band with his addiction was too say the least, very selfish..I wish they would kiss n make up,but that will never happen. If I'M not mistaken it is Cory that really holds the "grudge""
***** I don't know about him still having his voice. I just saw him sing, "One", on t.v. a few weeks ago at one of those PBS oldies shows and, although he CAN still sing, whatever song it is that he sang, on the record, he hits the high note and holds it for a bar or two, at this gig, he hit the note every time, but ABRUPTLY cut it off as soon as he hit it!! On the record he goes, "Oooooooooone is the loneliest number", at this gig he went, "Ooone.........is the loneliest number".
Выше всех похвал!!! Прекрасная группа!!! До сих пор слушается на одном дыхании. А как мы зажигали под её в своё время. У -х-х-х-х-х-х-х-х!!! Спасибо за видео.
I submit that not many bands could've taken Leo Sayer's weird little song, and turned it into a huge hit! 3DN for some reason remains underrated today, but in the early 70's they were the BOMB! Negron's voice is so distinctive and remarkable - and in what other group did you see 2 "backup" male singers? Hall of Famers to be sure - in my opinion.

All the wild men, big cigars, gigantic car
They're all laughin' at the lie

Oh, I'm so blind, oh, I'm blind
I wasted time wasted, wasted, wasted time
Walkin' on the wire, high wire
But I must let the show go on
Oh, I'm so blind, oh, I'm blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted, all too much time
Walkin' on the wire, high wire
But I must let the show go on
Baby, I wish you'd help me escape
Help me get away
Leave me outside my address
Far away from this masquerade
'Cause I've been blind, oh, so blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted, all too much time
Walkin' on the wire, high wire
But I must let the show go
I must let the show go
I must let the show go on

Fleetwood Mac eagles is tat enough Beatles had four
The Beach Boys. Best harmonies period.
The Beatles? Oh yes, I remember their off-key caterwauling from the old Sullivan show! What was Ed thinking?
(Mr. Burns from The Simpsons)
I absolutely love 3DN......one of my favorite groups. I remember playing their albums until they almost wore out. To me, this song is so very meaningful, especially now when I'm older & have seen more.
One of my favorite songs when I 12 years just waiting impatiently to be an official teenager 😊 Brings back some serious memories 😊
1975г Голос Америки разлагал нас этой песней .Спасибо ему огромное!
Great memories with Three Dog Night songs. Oh yea!
I can only wished I would I seen this Marvelous BAND Live!!!
I would have probably bartered w/ that Dark Some Bitch to see these guys live in there prime
Best song ever.. Whoever dislike it.. Dont know about music
"Liar" (by Ballard, one of my favorite musicians) by 3 Dog Night was so advanced for its day! "Mamma Told Me Not to Come" cracked me up when I heard it!
Awesome song. This live version was done so well.
I love Three Dog Night the show must go on
Chuck Negron came and did a show in my town last night and afterwards I went up to him and got his autograph and a picture with him. He's a really cool guy and really nice.
(One of my fav 3DG songs) I love the way he bailed on the high note "Wwwiiirrreeeee" the first time, got his breath, and then nailed the next two
God bless you Jimmy. May you rest in God's arms
This is truly the best version of this song!!!! I can't hear it enough.Chuck is so very talented.
Hello Amy, How are you doing?
Couldn't disagree more. Leo Sayers is much better, IMO
Excellent, excellent version!👍
I wish I could find this concert on DVD. Its so great!!!!
2020 y amo esta canción 💟
YO TAMBIÉN ✔🐺
Tienes muy buen gusto Deyanira! :)
Yeah, me too.
I guarantee you that Leo Sayer wasn't unhappy about the Three Dog Night Version....it put more money in his pockets...also, it is an awesome version.
That's not what Wikipedia says, it says 'He was not reportedly happy about them changing the line "Won't" to "Must let".
Sorry to tell you. But leo sayer actually was mad by the way they sang it. He even said so. That's why he went and did it the way he wanted it done
Yay
Such a wonderful song, those were the nice melodies, not anymore, cool music back in those old days.
Oh, I don't know about that! I was in the music biz in the `80's and never got any women!!
I totally agree.
Jerry Clausen
I totally disagree...the three of them together formed the best band ever with three great lead singers....all that talent....was truly awesome..
I'm 72 n I've listened when they 1st started
Thanks Stacy my friend for introducing me to this song. Behabe upthere.
Some of the best voices ever. I mean these guys could WAIL!
Выше всех похвал!!! Прекрасная группа!!! До сих пор слушается на одном дыхании. А как мы зажигали под её в своё время. У -х-х-х-х-х-х-х-х!!! Спасибо за видео.
One of my favorite new singers in all of my 65 years! Thank You!
One of my favorite bands from back in the day. What the hell, Joy to the World was my high school graduation song in 1971.
Priceless!
And the whole concept of the band was to have three guys who could switch off singing lead depending on the song. It worked out very well.
I thought TDN released it before Leo ayer?
@@colindavies5603 Nope. Sayer in 1973, and 3DN the following year. They paid homage to Leo Sayer.
Love this Jam , take me back in time , the present sucks.
I had been listening over and over again in 1974 in the seaside .......I was 16 and crazy......and still I am crazy over that song!!!!!
