      I agree - I was just going to comment on the Vanicream Moisturizing Cream in the tub when I saw your message Carol. This cream has been a life changer for me. It is around $11 to $17 for a good sized tub, and is easy to find in drugstores or on Amazon. I make sure to get the pump dispenser top.

    I am hooked on Agency too. Super results and all the actives are GREAT. I use all the same skincare except mad hippie cleanser. (Love the essence w/ Urea). I’m going to try the mad hippie. I use dermatology spf too then apply Australian gold 50 matte over it but I’m in Florida. Agency is a WIN for me too (no Botox needed …. I’m shocked)

    Hi Tamara, I also use Timeless products and love them. You may not be aware but Timeless does offer a 10% vitamin C serum too. I personally use and can tolerate the 20% year round but for those that can not the 10% is a good alternative.
    You’ve convinced me to try the Mad Hippie cleanser, can’t wait to get it.

    Hi Tamara my current cold weather routine for my extremely dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin is as follows:
    Cleanse with a super mild cleanser - currently the Aveeno calm and restore
    Tone - cosrx refreshing ABC toner (one layer) and then the cosrx propolis toner (one layer)
    Essence - Benton fermentation essence (one layer) and then the Laneige cream skin refiner (one layer)
    Serum - Geek and gorgeous stress less serum and the Hylamide Sub q peptide serum
    Eyes - Hylamide sub q eye serum and the Benton fermentation eye cream
    Moisturiser - Paula's choice clinical ultra rich moisturiser (my cold weather saviour)
    SPF - ultrasun spf30 or spf50
    My skin is so dry and thirsty it needs layers of hydration to feel plumped up and comfortable. I often spritz a water spray between layers for extra hydration if I'm even more parched than normal. It sounds like a lot, but in reality takes me between five and ten minutes to apply. It's worth it to me not have skin that feels two sizes too small by the time I do my evening routine. Most of my products are on the more affordable side and if I could find a moisturiser that works as well as the PC then I would use that, but nothing else I've tried works as well as this for my skin in cold weather. The ultrasun is a hybrid long wear European formulation (I live in the UK) and spf30 is fine for a Scottish winter. Best wishes.
    ps I can't use vitamin c - my rosacea hates it (including the derivatives). I have other antioxidants in my toners, essences and serums however to compensate. x

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому

      Darn! Skin sensitivities can be so damaging...I would eliminate all actives and keep your skin care super simple until it heals. Some say if the moisture barrier is severely impaired cleanse with only water, and apply a rich barrier protectant such as something petrolatum based. something like this La Roche Posey product here.... howl.me/civHhOJ7Eys
      Once your skin recovers add only one products at a time for a week or so to see how your skin responds. Hang in there!

    I've never really understood why many creamy cleansers are considered to be cleaning agents. If you look at the ingredients in the Mad Hippie cleanser there isn't a cleansing agent listed. Every ingredient is a moisturizer or preservative. My skin would be congested for weeks if I used it. I use a lightly foaming cleanser and then apply high-end skincare products to add back in moisture immediately.

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому +4

      I have gotten away from daily exfoliation, especially in the winter. But I still use my Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial AHA mask about once a week and if needed I will add a Lactic Acid Serum or toner a couple of times a week to my AM routine. (The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% or Maysama Green Rooibos Gentle Resufacing Toner are a couple of favorites)

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому +1

      Good question!. That is one of the reasons layering skin care usually goes lightest, thinnest consistency to thicker consistency....the exception is you may want your most potent active first, even if a lighter consistency goes over it.

    I'm new to your channel and I love the videos I've watched so far. I just finished the tour of your lovely house video and I see now where you're sitting when you apply your makeup. I'm curious as what you do when it is dark outside and you're unable to apply makeup by natural lighting?. Have you used a lighted makeup mirror? If yes, do you recommend a specific one?. My bathroom is so small with zero counter space to lay out my makeup. I want to be able do so in my bedroom but I'm unsure about the lighted mirrors.

    We have almost the exact same routine! I'm going to have to try the Mad Hippie cleanser though, it sounds very nice. Currently addicted to BYBI Milk Melt oat milk cleanser in the morning but it is some times hard to find. Did not know that the Suhada lotion contained lactic acid, that is good to know! Florida winters don't require quite the same routine change that MN winters do, but it is a good idea to tweak the routine a bit as our humidity drops. Personally I prefer the Universal Tinted to the Physical Tinted sunscreen from DRMTLGY. The physical stays really shiny on me and turns orange as the day wears on. Might have to pick up the broad spectrum if there is a good sale around black Friday/cyber Monday. Thanks for the great info!

      Hi Carol! I do love the Needless Serum, but use it more at night. And I also really enjoyed the NIOD SuperOxide Dismutase Mist over the summer...it felt great to mist my face throughout the day. I like the fact that it is antioxidant...And sometimes do still use it after cleansing before Sukoyaka...but don't find it as moisturizing as the Sukoyaka Suhada Essence and didn't want to overwhelm people with too many steps in my morning skin care. LOL.

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% or Maysama Green Rooibos Gentle Resurfacing Toner are a couple of favorites...and of course the classic Pixi Glow Tonic is also a good one!

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому +1

      I have been curious about Truth Treatments...seems to be a fan fav and gets rave reviews...but for Vitamin C I prefer L Ascorbic Acid which has more research behind it. And his "Trifecta" trio of products is so expensive! But one of these days I may give it a try...

      @@TamarasTimelessBeauty The retinol balm has lasted me an entire year (which is less expensive than Agency) and it’s VERY effective. I don’t mix it with his mineral mist, I just use my own essence and it works great. The jury is still out on the Vit C serum since I’ve only been using it since August (we’ll see how long it lasts), however, it definitely seems more substantial than the Timeless serum (which I used for 2 years) and wasn’t that impressed with.

    Thank you for this video Tamara! I need to switch up my skincare for winter. I live in the Northeast US. I was lost as to where to start. So thanks! And btw, sunscreen ALWAYS stings my eyes, even if I avoid my eye area. Do the ones you use sting eyes at all? And do you have any experience with CeraVe Daily Moisturizer with SPF40 in it? It would be great to get the sun protection and moisturizer in one step.

    • @TamarasTimelessBeauty
      @TamarasTimelessBeauty  2 роки тому +1

      I didn't have any luck with CeraVe AM Moisturizer with SPF. It felt very heavy on my skin and not very moisturizing. AND it stung my eyes. It uses chemical filters which many people (including you and me) find irritating to the eyes. Although chemical filters sting my eyes, my eyes have no problem with physical filters such as Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. For my super dry skin, I almost always need a dedicated stand alone moisturizer under my SPF, even the ones that claim to be moisturizers. However, I do think the Jose Maran one I showed may be moisturizing enough to skip moisturizer on days my skin is a little less dry...and the DRMTLGY is moisturizing enough for many people to skip moisturizer all together. None of my favorite SPFs sting my eyes...and I always apply to my eye area. Check out my SPF playlist...I've tried lots of SPFs! It does take a little experimentation to find what works for you.

      All three of the SPFs I showed in this video are moisturizing. DRMTLGY makes 3 moisturizng SPFs, the Jose Mara SPF 47 that I showed is probably the most moisturizing SPF I have. Some people might ind it a bit oily, but it does dry down and is deeply moisturizing... it is working well on my extra dry winter skin. ColorScience SPFS are also quite hydrating. As well as the EltaMD UV Restore (but the tint is slightly too deep for my skin so sometimes I mix it with an untinted one). Tamara, I took your advice awhile back on the Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser and is my favorite to date! I love to use Honest Beauty Gel to Milk as my first cleanse and then Mad Hippie. You can add water to the Honest Beauty for your second cleanse also but I almost always use Mad Hippie. I love the scent(absolutely divine). Most influencers I watch do not like scented products but when it comes to cleanser and moisturizer, I love a pleasant scent. I also use Sukoyaka Suhada Essence, Eye Cream, and Moisturizer (Moisturizer only at night to seal in skincare). These 3 are Holy Grails. I also use Timeless Vitamin C but they now make a 10% which I am currently trying out.
